Those stain can be cleaned easily i guess, thanks to the teflon coating on the White Hero.

Try rub it with isopropyl and FYI the aluminium scratches very easily.

the answer is not certain, it actually depends on the manufacturer, ie HTC for the update. For example, now they agree to update the Hero to 2.1, thus we get it(soon).
However, don't be worry, I'm quite sure that the xda-devs or custom ROM devs will keep the phone constantly updated with the latest softwares.

i flash my hero with mcr3.0... actually i couldnt really notice much improvement in performance, just adding on a few applications etc...

but one thing i find is my googlemaps stop working properly... I cant use the "SEARCH" .. the error will appear:

" The application Google Maps (Process com.google.android.apps.maps) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."

and the "DIRECTION" button doesnt react at when pressed....

Anyone knows how to solve this? reinstall the googlemaps to the more updated version?

You may want to disable your H, 3G or 2G connectivity. I found that AOSP 2.0.1 r5 also drained my batt dry last week. Suddenly.

Get APNdroid to disable said connectivity.

*Android 1.6 donut is not official yet... therefore no Sense UI etc... bad bad...no good for me
android 1.6 is called donut and it is official. but afaik, hero wont get a 1.6 update, but will jump to android 2.1 flan with sense ui.

and i want to add something,

AOSP is an acronym for android open source project.

and yes Google is really my best friend.

Hi, new here with my Hero TODAY.....hehehe....gotta say "I Love It".

Anyway, heard from the salesman that when Android 2.1 is release the SlideMe with be replace with Android Market, who knows what'll happen in the distance future, but will wait and hold with customizing the ROM.
