Other than same spec as Hero, it has a faster cpu Qualcomm 768Mhz, 3.5inch 800x480 lcd, and runnin Donut.

is the OS still sluggish as last time?

Response from a HTC user who happens to distribute HTC as well - ' wow faster than my Dream'

heard from slashgear or engadget they comment that hero lack of memory tha cause the OS sluggish.

Both have about the same mem - 512rom,256ram on Acer, Hero stated 288ram? Granted that the A1 has 50% faster proc speed.

Read it will be available locally in mid-September.

Thinking of getting an iPhone 3Gs, however the availability and the waiting game is killing my interest. I might get this Hero instead.

Mid sept? i'm skeptical.....but then again under nda so
You may wanna look at snapdragon ones instead.

3GS availability will be back to normal at end of the month....till then expect to wait or pay thru your teeths for them.

Mid-Sept as from http://bit.ly/Gp9Ip though. Priced at RM2399 and if iPhone 3Gs is not available by early October, I'll hit HTC Hero straight away.

My main concern then will be the essential screen and body protector.
