1 .. no its 1.5 cupcake + SenseUI
2.. yes .. its tru .. AOSP is just a completely original androidOS .. no special UI
3 .. dunno
4 .. dunno
5 .. amon ra recovery image is the thing that create recovery mode(root) , in recovery mode u can nandroid backup , flash ROM , flash theme , wipe ect2
6 .. u can flash the ROM to test it .. tru recovery mode .. its easy .. but the beta rom always unstable
7 .. its hero weakness .. not much ROM .. or stable AOSP ROM .. , ur ultimate choice is just MCR 3.0 .. ur AOSP 1.6 wont complete coz htc wont release 1.6 update on hero . so no certain hardware driver for that update .. such as camera , no CyanMod ect2 its the main prob y i din choose hero at the 1st place .. then i bought magic ..
8. .. Nandroid is not same with spritebackup and my backup .. nandroid only avail in recovery mode .. it backup all of ur current ROM setting , apps , contact , sms ,mms ect2 , sprite backup just sms , mms , pic ect2 ..
9 .. thats y got nandroid backup .. u root ur hero just to put the recovery mode .. so that u can perform nandroid backup .. before flashing MCR or anything ..

3. MCR= MoDaCo Custom ROM, so yes they are the same. ROM is the firmware of the phone, so it depends on the dev to wether change the appearance or not. Well AFAIK MCR have Sense UI similar with stock Hero phones, but with added functionality.

Just to test my own understanding,
1. Hero original ROM is based on 1.5
firmware, codenamed Cupcake. Observe the alphabet.
Cupcake, 1.5.
Donut, 1.6.
Eclair, 2.0.
Flan, 2.X
2. AOSP is basically a
ROM. This ROM is intended to be without Google's app. Which means no Market, no Gmail etc.
3. MCR is a short name for
MoDaCo
Custom
ROM. This ROM is baked by Paul, an admin from
www.modaco.com4.
Teknologist's
Custom
Kernel, or TCK. Read his extended explanation at
http://android.teknologism.org/5. Amon RA is one of many
custom recovery images. You can't flash custom ROM with original recovery image. To flash
custom ROM (e.g. AOSP or MCR) you need to use
custom ROM.
6. AOSP will always be in development. Stick with original ROM (or maybe MCR) if you wanted a stable phone. The rule of the game is simple. Don't fack your phone if you don't want your phone to fack you.
7. The most 'stable' will be your original ROM. The ROM should be good enough for you uncles and aunties.
8. Nandroid backup is the exact image of your phone's current state. Just like a photo. In fact, more than a photo.
A photo is a visual representation of a state of time. A photo of you kissing Adriana Lima is a visual explanation what was happening with you in Brazil. That photo doesn't tell you what happened before and after the kissing. That exact time.
The point is, a Nandroid backup is an
exact representation of state of your phone. Good thing about Nandroid is, you can always use it to get back to the previous state of your phone.
Unfortunately, you can never get Adriana Lima kissing you again and again from a photo. You need to fap for that.
9. No need. I mean fack that original stuff. You can flash any suitable ROM you want without going back to original.
10. You can backup your APN settings with an app, APN Backup & Restore. Search for it from Market.
11. Google Goggles is for 1.6+. You can't never have Goggles if you use original ROM or MCR as they are running 1.5 firmware.
Thanks everyone! This Clear up a lot of my doubts. Important infos i get:
*Android 1.6 donut is not official yet... therefore no Sense UI etc... bad bad...no good for me
*MCR rom running 1.5 firmware... so no Google Goggles for me at the meantime even if i flash tat rom. bear with it
*APN backup n restore. Good one
*Look like MCR Rom currently is the best n most complete Custom rom... with SenseUi, enhanced apks, etc etc with Gmail, market, etc etc. Look like i'll give this rom a try.
"5. Amon RA is one of many
custom recovery images. You can't flash custom ROM with original recovery image. To flash
custom ROM (e.g. AOSP or MCR) you need to use
custom ROM."
This statement is a bit confusing.. I'll need to re read the tutorialssss again..
