guys, wont eating too much eggs cause a high colesterol level in our diet? I wonder is it harmful if i eat too much eggs everyday.(more than 10)

Whites. And Terry said nothing wrong with eating even 4-5 yolks a day. They have high HDL.

QUOTE(pedro @ Mar 18 2010, 05:49 AM)
It is because of the high protein diet.

Cholesterol also not that great, HDL too low and LDL too high.

Then you need to reassess your diet. And you're also getting the wrong idea. What has any of this got to do with the liver? Kidneys are the first to go.

Breaking down of protein take place in the liver, deamination and ornithine cycle to form urea then it's transported into the kidney.

Uric acid too low? Hmm.. that's pretty weird, if you're undergoing high protein diet urea production suppose to be higher, and more acid should be produced.. =O

You worry too much. Seriously. When i was with Terry yesterday, he mentioned that young bodybuilders are too caught up in the smallest things without using basic common sense. I can go on all day explaining redundant stuff about uric acid excess causing gout or hyperuricemia and its treatment, etc but you're already on lean meat and fish what's the problem?

I'm sure from your posts you don't have family history of gout else you'd most likely be mentioning it here before that.

You should be worried if uric acid levels are too high, not low. So just shut up and train brother. =)

Thx for for that.

You're right about the gout, nothing in the family.

The last part sounds like Hulk Hogan in TNA!

Amen to that Brother!

Damn, I had sprinting training for 4 hours yesterday and it tore me apart. My obliques, hams and calves hurt so much today. Only had enough in me for 5 sets of squats before I gave up on legs and moved on to shoulders. sweat.gif

Not a good idea to weight train lower body on the day after sprints. Both are too CNS intensive. You could get away with sprinting in the morning and weight training in the evening, but not the other way around.

Since I highly doubt you can sprint in the morning and weight train in the evening, you're better off modifying your program to have 2 leg days, where one 'leg day' will be replaced by sprinting instead. Kind of like how Joe Defranco's earlier WS4SB version.

This of course assumes that you're training to be an athlete. If aesthetics if your goals then someone else could give you better ideas.

Yeah, definitely not a good idea. I was trying to see if I could get away with it. Obviously not. laugh.gif

I will have to mix around my training schedule, at least for the time being or until my competitions are over. I'll probably have my sprinting day on a Monday and my actual leg day on a Thursday or Friday.

Hi,

Just wondering what is the correct way to lift a pair of dumbell to perform bench press without a partner/spotter?

Thanks.

First, try to put the ends of both dumbbells onto your thighs, just above your knee, then when you are ready, let your legs give you a slight kick to lift up the dumbbells.

I mentioned in my post that it was intended towards athletic training, which was why I said 'If aesthetics if your goals then someone else could give you better ideas'.

I know this is the BB thread, which is why I'm not gonna elaborate unless you want me to, don't wanna go off topic

Btw, I don't play with the weights, I fight to lift them.

I'm not sure how serious this sprinting thing is for you. If you are serious about it, you might want to check out the works of Charlie Francis. Basically what he does is:

Monday/Wednesday/Friday - Sprints/Pylos in the morning, squats/powerclean/bench in the evening. I'm not saying those are the only exercises his athletes do.

Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday - Tempo runs

Again, sorry for going off topic, this is the BB thread after all.

You have a point yet no one will fault you for it. The forum's getting messy. There should be a separate powerlifting/strength thread. Newbies will get confused. The lines between bodybuilding and powerlifting are getting blurry to a beginner. Maybe one of you should start one. Even at bb.com there are separate threads for this.
