Hi,

Just wondering what is the correct way to lift a pair of dumbell to perform bench press without a partner/spotter?

Thanks.

First, try to put the ends of both dumbbells onto your thighs, just above your knee, then when you are ready, let your legs give you a slight kick to lift up the dumbbells.

For decline dumbbell bench press you'll need to get someone to hand it to you.

ok, but then when i rest? how am i suppose to put back the dumbell on my thigh?

and at start, i thought we are not supposed to lie down onto the bench directly as it is bad to our spine, so we have to lie down by the side. then how to have the dumbell on the thigh???

thanks for any help.

Dude, I get what you mean but you're gonna fall off the bench if you approach and attempt to lie on it from the side. It's okay to do so when getting onto or off your bed but not a bench. I used to have spinal problems too. But to attempt to lie on a bench in that manner would most likely result in a disaster.

haha...only you knew what i meant. sorry ya for the two forumers who din really get what i was trying to say. uhuk-uhuk was right.smile.gif

yes, lying from the side needs a lot of stability. ok,i will try with your advice. thanks!
