Yup,my friend got those too,but I don't get the hang of deadlifting with straps, seems easier for me with normal grip albeit having to use lower poundage.

Time to strengthen ur grips bro.

I bought my straps last time, and i hit 130kg max, without i can only hit ard 120kg, AND tat plateau stay for months, and aft tat i read it from strong lift, i try to strenthen my grip and now i can go 135kg XD (best record was 3 reps) without straps. Coz i can feel tat sometime when i use straps, i tends to depend on the straps too much and forsake the purpose of deadlift thou. =D

Straps vs gloves? It seems easier wearing gloves.

glove for deadlift is not really a good choice coz its lesser grip and also it slips off easier.
use normal bare hands but u cant pull as much
use straps but again, u depend too much on it, grip less

never enjoyed using any gloves... i have a harbinger glove sitting around, but i guess bare hands are the best, you feel the grip well enough and yeah it doesnt slip off easily... as for the pain of your hands when pulling too much.... just keep your callous and yo hands wont scream for pain when you lift more

Callouses are there, just that a point is reached where the grip just loosens by itself and your fingers open!

I used to wear straps for lifting my heaviest weights, be it for deadlifts or using dumbbells. Now not so, partly because I'm lazy to take them out and I'm sort of developing this mentality of it's too heavy, it don't get lifted.

I don't understand people that don't use straps. If you're competing in powerlifting, and your deadlift cannot go any higher because of your grip strength, then TRAIN the friggin grip strength separately.

If your deadlift isn't going up because your upper back is weak, but because of numerous repetitions, your grip loosens out (duh), then use the strap!

Straps are an integral part in anybody's routine. If there are a few things I would never be caught without, it'd be my straps, my tights, my knee sleeves and wraps and weightlifting shoes. Belts are for people who can lift really heavy and I can't, so I've no business using them.
