the nearest one is 17hb at BP Mall Batu Pahat, offering Rm 3K's prize.
but i think dont have the junior category, maybe new talent.
usually u can expect the dates, early year no competitions (off season), expect Strongman on march-april

hello fellow bodybuilders. My name is Ben and I just started working out in the gym. I'm 181cm and 55kg, I need to gain another 19kg for my BMI to be normal. I'm on serious mass supplement. =)

Hi. One question, Rippetoe's and Stronglift's seems to be using lower reps with higher weights for their workout sessions. Then, for someone who really am new in the gym and spending his life in front of the computer without any sometimes-going-out-for-a-jog and with high metabolism rate, should follow the lower reps with higher weights or should start with endurance training of using higher reps lower weights ?

Kinda new here, and really wants a fit figure in another 3months. And I'm underweight. Thanks.

3 months not possible...unless you're juiced. But you'll notice within 3 months you are stronger if you train and eat properly, just don't expect to see bulging muscles in 3 months.

The main idea of doing compound exercises with low reps and high weights for beginners is to gain strength first before going for mass building. So those programs are suitable for beginners.

High rep and low weights are for fat burning/better muscle definition after a mass building phase.

I should go with the low reps high weights then? Great and thanks. Another, the 3months target is for me to get the correct BMI not the muscles yet. But 6months to a year, for the big muscles. rclxms.gif

It seems that they (gym people) teach us to higher reps low weight for beginner.

Atleast better to follow that first. Since I'm a 161 tall with only a 45kg man. Damn sad. Even more sad, when I can hardly bench an empty oly bar.

Well, they teach you that because they want you to practice the form, after that it's serious training. If not steady doing a squat only with the bar, how to increase the weight leh? So the low weight is for you to practice the form only. Once you get use to it, then it's time to start loading it.

No one here cares about BMI btw...my BMI is in the overweight range and it doesn't seem to bother me. BMI is not an absolute indicator of health because it's not accurate.

Since you're just starting out, it's in your best interest to just use a barbell without weights and learn the correct form. Only after you've got solid form, then should you start adding weight.

Hello sirs, few questions here

1. 12x4 is that consider high rep low weight or vice versa?
2. What is the recommendation repetition for deadlift, benchpress and pulls up (beginner to advance)?

Thank you.

it's also called side stitch don't you love google

common side stitch is caused by the exertion that running and bouncing forces inside the abdominal walls. Basically, your stomach and other organs - like the spleen and liver - bump into each other as your feet jar the ground causing connective tissue to stretch on the nerves and cause pain. This connective tissue is also attached to your diaphragm which helps with breathing. This pain is usually on the right side and just under the ribs. Exercise like horseback riding, running, and sit-ups are common causes of the side stitch.

Ways to Prevent or Lessen the Pain of the Common Side Stitch:

1) Do not Run on a Full Stomach
2) Decrease Pace and Breath Deeply
3) Pre-Stretch With Side Torso Twists
4) Perform Lower Back and Abdominal Exercises
