wu ming: Hi there. Most of us here normally runs on Saturday mornings. Distance varies everytime. However, there is a beginners program every Saturday beginning at 7.30am conducted by the friendly folks from Runners Malaysia that will take you around Lake Gardens for a 5KM or so run. Most beginners "graduated" from there and am now running longer distances. All of these are happening at the Bukit Aman carpark if you don't mind travelling there.

Well, according to Mizuno's website, the Wave Elixir 3/4 is for moderate over-pronators. Have U checked Ur feet type by doing the wet test ? The shoe might not be suitable for U, but then again, AFAIK, neutral runners can still run in moderate shoes. Maybe ccube or phoenix can elaborate more on this.

mate neutral runners can run in any shoes they want, be it motion control, support , stability or cushioning, those are the lucky bunch, for me i'm a pronator i overpronate my ankle rolls inwards so i have to use stability line of shoes, its a tad heavy but i got used to them so much that i rarely use my racers any more kinda like my feet being cushioned, and oh by the way each manufacturer has a somewhat a diffrent naming convention for the shoes that support the feet

The Elixir 3 is a low profile light weight trainer. Suitable for neutral and under pronator who dont need lotsa cushioning and stability. If you are big in size weighing 75k and above, and over pronate, I dont recommend you to have this shoe. The model will not give u the right cushioning and stability support hence will cause knee and ankle injury overtime.

Hi all running sifu, I wonder if anyone here can advice me on my condition. Everytime I run for around 1km, my knee start to feel pain. But I don't have this problem last time. Anyone have the same condition like mine? Any advise? Change shoes maybe or get some supplement?

inspiron: Do check your foot type by doing a wet test and compare it with the results as shown on the link above. Then, check for your shoe's outsole wear and tear to determine what kind of runner you are and then finally, check if the model of your shoe is made for you.

Furthermore, it may be your running style or gait that might be causing your problem. Do you have any past injuries? Supplements may help, but bear in mind that it's no miracle nutrients and it may not work with everyone.
