any 10k runners here tracked the total distance for the Energizer Race? My Garmin seems to indicate it's about 9.5K only.

My Nike+ SportBand also indicates 9.52km. Though mine was not accurate but since your Garmin says so... QUOTE(chinleong @ Mar 28 2010, 01:52 AM) Hey peeps! Just back to my house. How's the marathon? I got to the start pretty early, around 5:45 like that, & the relay was about to start. I was pretty confused initially, becoz the starting point was like a desert & there was no shade except for a few trees. I thought, this couldn't be the starting point. Then only I realized we had to walk further in about 1km to get to the start village. The layout could've been better.
I didn't meet anyone as well. I ran a better race than Putrajaya, but the weather was so hot I had to stop at every water station after 5K. & I thought the course was tougher than Putrajaya. I hit the 5K to go mark at 1:47, so I thought I could finish around 2:10 like that. But it wasn't to be. I took the risk of not eating in the last hour. Fortunately it was okay. The goodie bag was okay, worth the RM60 we paid for I think, with the Adidas vest, the headlight, the shaver, the Salonpas spray... ok la. Even SCKLM goodie bag was not that good. Now have to walk like robot again... oh... I managed to eat last nite.. another improvement.. |

hey guys i hope you guys had a good race...i did.. got a PB for 10k although i felt that it was under-distanced...
my only gripe was for the relay runners, the organiser's seemed to be clueless when i asked how am i supposed to get back to the finishing point, either i got a "dont know" or "wait for bus" when there is no bus insight..ended up walking for another 9km to the finishing line... |

i think the 42k is under distance. my garmin showed 40.83k, while the turning point for the 1/2 mark was so 20k (but was indicated as 21k)

I think only the 21K is correct distance. I did the 10K and my Garmin showed 9.3K only. A few others in the Energizer Run FB also commented the same 9.2-9.3K distance. and I also read somewhere another runner saying his Garmin show less than 41K for the full.
A fren of mine who did 21K wrote in his blog his Garmin tracked exactly at 21. |

QUOTE(ccube @ Mar 28 2010, 09:22 PM) consider compression apparels for post race muscle recovery. let me know if you want to know the benefits of it and if interested to invest in one. I'm still new in running field, does counter pain or pain killer helps? Please give me more details on the compression apparels, thanks in advance |

My 1st time marathon... considered ok.... Once finish race.. walked towards the GB booth... feel the pain at my ankle... sprained my ankle. But thank God is after the race ^^
10km = 1.15hr, initially target to complete.. so the medal is a bonus. Now i can brag brag brag since all don't expect to complete, what more a medal |

They didnt record finishers after 7:30hrs methinks. Either that or the tracker already not picking up signals after they took down the Finish Line arch.
