Thanks Tinkerbel, on the info given smile.gif Was so incline to depends on Maxis earlier as I felt that could be much easier. Will try to take some snapshot of the phone and post that up. Luckily I still got the entire set in good condition, with the original box and printout biggrin.gif.

Sooner or later the Trade-In will be offered; when there's ready stock and when they've fulfilled all the orders placed by the 'early adopters'. As for me, I'd been using the i3GS for over a month now. Cousin from Germany wants a set so I prebooked one for him and it looks like I'll haf to give up my i3GS and pass mine to him whilst we wait for stocks to come in from Maxis.

Hmm my post has been spread to 2 topics (O_O) not sure where am I suppose to post this so sorry mod if I post this on the wrong one.

Anyway this is regarding the Hotlink 500MB SMS issues. I went to maxis garden again just now and see what is really going on there.

It seems there is a error in their system that is causing the hotlink number not registered with the iPhone purchased. There is about 80 cases like that and they are fixing it according to when you get your phone.

The 7 days waiting period stated by CS is actually buffer for them, so usually this will resolved in 1-2 days. They are willing to rebate you back all the CS interaction call fee and data fee you used so far before the 500MB activation (better confirm this with maxis about your case).

So that's that. Now there is nothing you can do, just have to wait for them to activate yours.

guys i need some help from the gurus here. i'm planning to get an i3gs but i'm not sure which plan i should sign up to.. i am goin to sign the contract for 2 years.. its either ivalue1 = rm100 or value plus + idata3 = rm149.

i rarely make calls. my current phone bills in around rm 50 including voice call and sms. but what i'm trying to find out is will my data usage surpass the 500mb cap or not.. lets say i'll be spending 2 hours a day using my phone to surf-youtube-email-downloading? approximately how much data usage per month will that be?

hope that someone can give me some suggestion on which plan to choose. thanks

Got a question:

I'm using hotlink.
If i turn off 3G and use internet (i assume it's GPRS since there's an 'o' there), are the charges different for data?
By right, all data regardless of the transmission medium should be the same right?
Thus, i shouldn't be charged since i have 500mb free data per month?

tenkiu for the keen reply ms tinker.. i would like to ask 1 more question.

lets assume the maxis store has an i3gs in stock and i want to do a new registration. can i be able to complete the process and get the phone immediately? or is there any other process which takes longer than 1 day?

Yes EDGE/GPRS/3G/HSDPA charges are all the same. As long as u are within ur 500MB then U won't get charged biggrin.gif

@FalleN,
I don't know what U mean here by new registrations. I don't know how long it takes to register a brand new line but if you're talking about i3GS activation + registrations, that won't take more than 5 minutes biggrin.gif

I don't think it'll take longer than 20 minutes (excluding wait time) and ur line will / can be active within 24hrs.

sorry if i'm intruding, but i really need to find out about this.

Its already 4th of August, I assume the 3gs is already out.
let's say we walk into maxis centres, is there anyway to pay for the prepaid plan (ie iphone 3gs 16gb rm2490) and just walk off with the phone without any pre booking?

I really hope this is possible as i really wanted to get the phone today, cash ready.

Not quite a brand new line but I ported in from Digi and it was quite fast. Maybe 10mins or so. I did this about a week before the launch.

You can if they have stocks not reserved for anyone but the problem is finding a shop like this. I got one such unit from Switch Mines on Sunday. The staff there told me that someone cancelled their booking. They had 2 units on Sat night but 1 left when I went the next morning.

hopefully they can solve it within one week, they dy make a mess for the pre-booking, don't let those that have collected their iPhone leave another bad impression on them...

ya i think im one of the statistic. got my phone on saturday, until now no sms about the free 500MB. someone from maxis called me yesterday and ask for my imei number etc but no news after that.

maybe can use the data kau kau now and let them waive it later on, or worse, they will deduct from the 500MB

how 2 know if the iData plan we've subscribed has been activated?
i called customer care and they said its' areadly activated
but login at maxis webbie to check my account... it's not stated anywhere? lol

i believe that would only appear in your bill statement next month. even when i called 123 to check the billing info/amount of a relatives' recently subscribed iData plan, the system is yet to be updated ie. current bill/unbilled amount info etc. is not available. i think Maxis meant it when they inform us that it has already being activated, as in my case, data usage over 30MB has been clocked and the line is still active ie. not being barred.
