If it's only from Maxis to Maxis, I think I'd take the iData with Value Plus 50 plan.

really meh got charges for 0% interest installment?

Can anyone confirm this? Then it defeats the purpose of saying it's 0%  rclxub.gif

It's handling fees.

Not from Maxis but the bank itself. Different bank got different charges for handling fees.

Hope it help brows.gif

Hi peeps,

The information U people been waiting for:-

1) The RM500 rebate is not something that's confirmed (details are still being finalised) hence it's not been officially announced. However, it's not really an upgrade but more of getting a 2nd unit with at least RM500 rebate and up to 50% off and most probably this is only applicable for those who signed up on iValue 3 & 4 plans [anyone who signed up for this plan can help me purchase an i3GS biggrin.gif]

2) As to the free calls; it should apply to one-way only; means the free minutes are from principal to supp only. Supp to principal is a different set of free minutes.

3) The 333 minutes that come with the iValue plans aren't exactly FREE cause it's what U've oredi paid hence it's not part of the Principal-Supp free call minutes biggrin.gif

I hope this clears the air for all.

Already check with Maxis.

The iValue's family plan, Principal - Supp call/sms is free same as those normal Value Plus plan.

0% installment plan is bank no charge anything for the installment, maxis charge 4% for the processing fee.

Just called maxis hotline 123, booked my 3GS last week 29th July. I was told that phone will only arrive in 1-2 weeks time. I also asked if buying from Machines will have my phone collection earlier, he said no and also I'll lose the 500mb free data from hotlink plan.

- received the sms about 500mb free monthly on saturday
- prepaid balance RM3++ (not yet make 1st topup)
- thought because of jailbroken phone but able to connect 3g using xpax

i called customer services just now and the guy said my number is active (thats mean i should not have any problem) but he said that my hotlink SIM card are not supported 3g, i need to change to 3g SIM and it cost RM25 (wtf?)

@tinkerbel:

What about the SMS? 100 SMS is free for iValue users from Maxis to Maxis or also to other networks? The SMS are only for main to sup and sup to main?

From the way i see it, all the free SMSes are only meant for Maxis to Maxis, it has always been that way from the promo and i doubt Maxis will be changing it anytime soon.

OT: My booking at TTDI branch for 3GS got delayed for 2 weeks... wat the hell.......

@jfarm86, DE.si.MON:
just called Maxis CS twice and confirmed this:

- 0% installment plan: Maxis will not imposed any charges on the amount but selected banks might. therefore, it's up to your CC's bank.

- iValue subscribers with Family plans supplementary lines will still be able to enjoy free 15 hours of calls and 1500 SMS with their supplementary lines.

@tink:

thanks for the details! so i guess the RM500 rebate isn't that 'attractive' eh? biggrin.gif why only iValue 3 & 4 subscribers anyway??

@1337n00b:
err, what the Maxis CS told you might be true as your SIM has to be at least with 128K or something. simple, how old is your SIM as 3G SIM only appears like few years back.

@ChillyPepper:
the free SMS/MMS (differ according to iValue plans) are only valid for SMS/MMS sent to Maxis numbers only. smile.gif

@pokemonmaster:
i believe that rebate is not valid anymore as it's a promo before 3GS was launched.

err, actually it is new SIM card, bought on the same day (and same time) i bought the phone

if it's true about non 3g support card, then i have to forget about 500mb free monthly coz of RM33 (hotlink 365) + rm30 (topup to activate the line for 6 months) + rm25 (new supported 3g SIM card)

Sad news instead, on the option to get 2nd unit instead of the real trade-in. How am I going to dispose off the current 3G Maxis phone if the option is to get a 2nd unit. My finance minister might used this as the reason to barbecue me or skin me alive... wahahahahahahahah...

Been through a whole lot of work for this hotlink plan. I still haven't yet get any SMS for the 500MB. I called CS a few times already but still no solution, all they asked me is to wait and wait. Fed up with all that crap I went directly to Machine Gardens and Maxis Gardens.

So here is my story,

1. Went to Maxis Gardens, they check and tell me that my hotlink is not activated at all, no GPRS, no 3G, no MMS, nothing. Asked me to refer back to Machine Gardens where I bought my 3G S and asked them to activate it (huh? isn't that supposed to be maxis side?).

2. So back at Machine, they were surprise that it wasn't activated. They even show me the printed online activation form to me and it does shows activated on the day I bought the iPhone. He was good enough to make a call to maxis to see what is going on. Some how my hotlink number is not tied to the iPhone purchased hence all the data packages are not activated. Machine guys think that it could be that the system is down when I was activating it.

3. Since I already had a case with hotlink customer service, I had to call them up again for follow up. So I call again...
Now they tell me that the technical team are still investigating it and asked me to wait for at least 7 days more (I was about to explode here). He also told me it could be because I had non 3G SIM card so asked me to upgrade it to a 3G one for RM25.... wth.. I got my sim the same day as I got my iPhone.

4. I walk over to Maxis Garden again... talk again with them about all the hassle I have been through. This time they are kind enough to activate it for me manually. They have help me to at least activate my 3G so at least I can surf the net now but still no 500MB free SMS. Their system looks like it is busy with request so my activation only occurs 2 hours later. They also told me that there is no difference in 2G or 3G sim card when connecting to the network, it is the same (so who am I to trust now?)

Now at home, tired and still with a somewhat cripple iPhone while waiting for the 500MB SMS. So those that never got the SMS yet you might have better chance if you go directly to the place you get the iPhone and Maxis Center then calling their CS because according to CS, if there is a case they will barred or put on hold any value added services (e.g. free 500MB data) to avoid interference with the case investigation.

How come I still don't receive even though Machine help me with that too sad.gif
Going to go to maxis garden again today...

I can't afford to wait 7 days as the data charges are killing my prepaid with 1sen/kb.
iPhone consume data like drinking water after a race.

Will report back later.

@teikwing,
I guess it's iValue 3 & 4 because Maxis makes enough $ from them to offer them such a sweet deal *shrugs* If U know anyone who's on that plan, I'll luv to check if they can get me a set biggrin.gif

@igeu69,
U could alwiz 'dispose' the i3G at Garage Sales. That's where I disposed mine and got a much better price than what Maxis was offering on the Trade-In.

@pokemonmaster,
Am not sure if trade-in promo is available. However all announcement made officially will be available on the Maxis website so it's best to check that out as and when U have queries.

@1337n00b,
I believe those using the Hotlink SIM pack will need to upgrade to the 3G SIM should they want to enjoy the 3G services.

@pjastro,
Thank U for the update and am glad it all worked well for U biggrin.gif

OT: I'd been so bz since the launch of this i3GS I haven't even had time to go scout down the i3GS I prebooked. Looks like I'm gonna haf to wait till next batch of stocks arrive *iSh*
