I oso get a call yesterday from maxis asking for IMEI number and say will call me back but after that till now oso no news

couple of forummers here did. since iPhone from Maxis is officially unlocked, you can purchase it from Maxis but decide to use it on other networks.

It is still being finalised by Maxis. I'm surprised the Star actually published it. As soon as it's been confirmed, I think Maxis will be making the announcements but I haven't heard of any trade-in schemes for now.

Please do some reading on previous posts in this thread and you will get your answers for such simple questions. Especially the First Page.

Obviously, as from what you can see through Maxis website, iData 3 gives you 3GB of 3G data usage and suppose that if you overused it then you will be charged accordingly into your monthly bill statement.

How to count as 3GB?
Total data usage = data downloaded + data uploaded

data downloaded = Whatever stuff that you get from the internet: Website, Instant messaging, check emails, youtube, etc
Why? Because every stuff in the internet have their own size. And in order to display them in your phone (browser) then you will need to download them (hence, the size) into your phone from the website.

data uploaded = When you go to any site, upload pictures, updates your FB status, etc
Why? Because in order for you to surf to a site, your phone need to send header request to the site and these header request have their own size as well. Uploading pictures/FB status are applying similar concept.

In short, anything that goes through between your phone and internet counts towards the total data usage.

Settings -> General -> Usage -> Cellular Network Data

both sent & received amount combined should not exceed your given quota for the month, eg. 500MB
