There's no "threat" at MBB TreatsFair wink.gif
Instant Credit Card approval at Treats Fair is one of the highlights
*
The bank can easily give you instant approval at the treat fair. But your card may take weeks to reach your doorstep. biggrin.gif

What's so special at the threat fair? Any good freebies? The new Amex gold cc might be promoted at the event.

Well, I would say depends on personal preference. I have been to MBB TF and the stuff to redeem there suits me more. Also, most of the items (if not all) are to redeem with TP.

Compare to CIMB Home Decor at KLCC, most of the items are for sale doh.gif and pay through CC. Well, if I want to buy using cash/CC, I can goto shops, no need goto this kind of fair.

The MBB fair is for all/most suppliers to group together to offer customers to redeem their points on the spot.

Any other bank CC has points fair ?

Again, I'm not related to MBB or working for them. I just wish to share and I'll be going there to survey and redeem some stuff if available.

You've received your 1st month statement? Or you viewed the RM50 early bird incentive online?

Its freebies should be better than MBB, I think. I remember CIMB gave travel luggage to new Plat customers last time.

Personally, I don't think having 2 entities selling the same concept within the same organisation is good in the long run. In today's challenging market, cost efficiency and branding are crucial to successful management.

In the case of CIMB/DA, they offer same products which may confuse public. If CIMB is worried about losing its market share from existing DA customers in the event that such consolidation happens, the effect, in my opinion, is insignificant. The reason being all the existing DA cardholders are already aware that DA is part of CIMB, with the exemption of a number of retailers and public. Moreover, CIMB has now learnt enough the success story of the "free for life" concept as well cc innovation and marketing.

Should such consolidation not happen in the future, CIMB should be more proactive and innovative by creating completely different products for its CIMB cc segment which can distinguish the 2 brands.

Just my 2 cents. smile.gif

You hit it right on. DA is in fact more cost effective and efficient, while brand value is of course, much too subjective. As such, its not possible for CIMB to cancel its generic card and move everyone over to the DA line thus the rationale of retaining both lines until such times when the CIMB generic cards are able to stand out by themselves.

Further, success is not all about free for life cards only, as can be demonstrated by many paying card members around. Otherwise CIMB or DA would have wiped out the market when they were launched. But obviously CIMB is trying to change the perception that its generic cards are more prestige by upping its so called requirements but this does not change the fact that the market perception has not changed much as CIMB is still equated with the infamous Bank Bumi. tongue.gif

Well, unlike last year where they give you a plastic "Temporary" card, this year it is instant REAL credit card. You get the real deal immediatedly once your card is approved and you get to use it on the spot or else where.

check it here : http://www.treatsfair.com/v1/2009/07/01/in...-card-issuance/

Read the bottom Terms and Conditions and it reads : Issuance of Credit Card is within 2 hours upon application submission.

The keyword here is that they never mention about the temporary card

Hi. What credit card gives this:

1. Free for life
2. Give rebates instead of points or give rebates for petrol.

Excluding DA or CIMB cards.

Thanks.

Maybank Petronas, free for life and 5X point when you pump Petronas petrol.

Guys, I did see the ad on DA for rebate at Giant and Tesco early this morning. If I recall correctly, its for Visa Infinte only right.

MC World on the other hand gets 2% rebate for petrol.

What are the requirements for SCB JustOne early bird rebate?

I guess if I submit an application now, it's unlikely that I'm still entitled for it?

If I'm not mistaken, the product has been launched for 2 months. The early bird incentive is given to the 1st 1000 approved cards. Chances may be slim now. But you can try and call SCB CS to check it out.

Aiyah...it's you again and asking the same question! Anyway, welcome back! tongue.gif

It's been quite some time since we advised you, and you haven't decided which card to choose? You think too much. Just apply for 2 to 3 cards we recommended and wait for the result. Good luck! smile.gif
