woow...my MBB Petronas only got 5k credit limit. After I request, they only increased by 2k. What a joke.

Normally they will still ask for your pay slip after you enclose your existing credit card copy. If your existing MBB cc have minimum 6k limit above will be save.

So did they approve your application for the AMEX Gold credit card ?


No need to submit your pay slip anymore if you're going to apply a credit card using existing credit card. Was told last time i went to get the AMEX Gold credit card application form. But my question is, will Maybank accept our 6-month old credit card as a reference ? Because apparently Public Bank do. So i wondered if it is ok with Maybank ? Any idea ?

Don't think they're too strict with the whole Amex Gold CC.

I applied by faxing in an application form. Didn't fax in any supportings as I told them they should have my stuff, from my MBB Petronas card. They tried to ask for stuff for CL purposes, but told them I'd be happy with the existing CL.

Thing is, I never submitted anything for my MBB Petronas card b4, since they pre approved it and sent me a letter telling me to collect it

You can increase CL consider lucky liao, they want me to fill a form, attach my salary slip and IC photocopy, and they said the decision is on them, not 100% will be approved.

If your existing MBB CL is <6k, they will ask for your income supporting documents (2 months pay slips) as they know your card's CL is double of your salary (for MBB). My case was same, my existing card CL is just 5k, so they ask for my payslip, I just faxed them 1 month then finally approve and upgrade my limit to 8k.

gotta ask..i cancelled my maybank CC facility a few months back, but the account number still shows up in M2U, is it possible to have the facility re-activated without going thru all the standard procedure of applying for a CC?will they just re-activate it again?

even though it still shows up, it is actually cancelled

What is the document i need to bring in order to apply for CC?
I dont have any pay slip but I pay for income tax for the director remuneration.

I think most of the credit cards are possible to reinstate within 6 months of cancel.

hmm, does that means my MBB petronas CL also at 5k?
damn, that means i can't buy an lcd tv priced at RM5.8k?

humph.... and they told me that the approval got CC took about 2-3 weeks.

Thanks for the replies. My CL only 6k and my income is 30k pa. Gonna try my luck apply MBB Amex Gold CC using my existing DA or MBB Petronas card. Hope can get approved. If cant get approved, maybe need to apply it as a graduate

Hi all, i'm now using MBB Visa Ikwan c.c. Want to ask about the late payment charges due to paying the bill on the 'due date'. Last month i settled the bill on the 'due date'. I remember the payment was done through M2U during office hour. But in this month statement i was charged 1% 'compensation fee' as late payment chare.. As far as i remember, it never happened before when i was using Mastercard eventhough i paid on the due date (or maybe I do not remember it exactly).

So, my question is are they allowed to do that.. And what about the 'qoute' that i found it above, i mean the 'grace period', does it really exist..? I haven't yet ring them up..need to check other people experiences first..Thanks..

in your statement you can see when the payment was made. BNM has made compulsory a 3-day grace period for payment from the due date from July 1 onwards. The only thing you need to be wary of is remembering the wrong due date.

If you got case to dispute you can call them and ask them to waive. Else complain to BNM.

No. You can't. If the credit line of your Maybank Petronas VISA is RM5000, then you can only do RM5000 installment. Maybe you can pay RM800 upfront and charge the remaining RM5000 to your Maybank Petronas VISA and then convert it into installment ?

If your Maybank Petronas VISA has a credit line of only RM5000. When you charge RM5000 into the card, then you cannot use the card anymore. Let say you have paid RM1000 back to Maybank, then you will be able to start using your Maybank Petronas VISA again as there are still RM1000 unusable credit line in your Maybank Petronas VISA.

if u are self employed u just need business registration certificate. ur 3 mth company bank statment, and ur income tax statment and the resit simple as that

I just did sent my cancellation letter with Maybank last week. But they still need ur signature. So what I did was print it, scan it then only email it to them. Now settle already.



They said they giving me 150k for credit limit when I asked about it for DA World and VI. But not sure whether it is their maximum credit limit though.. Didn't apply for it yet.. Maybe next year if needed..

Im not self employed but simply receive director fee from a company.

In general, most of the established banks would nowadays review their customers' CLs periodically based on the payment record and spending pattern. Just have to be patient awaiting the adjustment. If you don't spend that much, why do you need such CL in the 1st place?

Most customers were given instant approvals. How about issuance of cards? I heard until now some applicants still haven't received their cards.

Under certain circumstances, you can call and request for a temporary increase in CL. This would normally happen when the cardholders travel abroad, need emergency fund for hospital bills, etc. In your case, you need extra CL to purchase luxury item like LCD TV, the bank may or may not consider your request. Anyway, it is no harm to have a try.

As mentioned by some forummers numerous times, it is not the max. Having World MC or VI could easily ensure a CL of RM100k and more!
