Just call the CS regarding annual fee waiver..
HSBC - 12x swipes Citibank - 3x swipes within 2 months.. I read before in here saying that HSBC need only 4x swipes. Kinda confuse now.. Maybe its their new policy? This post has been edited by krazee350: Aug 12 2009, 12:28 PM |

QUOTE(alexwsk @ Aug 12 2009, 11:46 AM) @winner I do agree that voice of CS officers plays a major role in neutralising customers' mood. I always like to hear sexy lady voice. got my card last friday thru poslaju, 2 weeks after the treats fair but actually i can collect the card on the application day itself, but after 5 hrs of the application just activated the AMEX thru the phone number printed on the back of the card Going back to SCB Just1 cc topic, my latest statement doesn't show the 3x choice points for overseas spending, even though my transactions in S'pore, Indonesia and Middle East are recorded in the statement. I inquired SCB CS about this, but the staff seemed not familiar with the promotion. He called me back, informing that the additional points will only be reflected in my next month statement. Added on August 12, 2009, 12:46 pm QUOTE(krazee350 @ Aug 12 2009, 12:23 PM) Just call the CS regarding annual fee waiver.. It depends on product. My Citi Plat requires 24 swipes of any amount per annum for auto waiver of AF.HSBC - 12x swipes Citibank - 3x swipes within 2 months.. I read before in here saying that HSBC need only 4x swipes. QUOTE(krazee350 @ Aug 12 2009, 12:23 PM) Just call the CS regarding annual fee waiver.. For HSBC, you need to swipe 12x times in a year to get your annual fee waived (all the same for HSBC Classic, Gold and Platinum credit card).HSBC - 12x swipes Citibank - 3x swipes within 2 months.. FYI, I've just lodged a complaint to SCB yesterday regarding the super high conversion rate they charged on my overseas transactions. |

I was shocked too when it was revealed that theirs was the highest. In fact it should be BNM makes it mandatory for the banks to display how much are these "extra" charges are for transparency purposes. |

QUOTE(winner @ Aug 12 2009, 02:03 PM) 1st year is FOC. Unless Citi has changed its policy. To those interested, all range of HSBC credit card is annual fee free too for the first year. QUOTE(winner @ Aug 12 2009, 02:03 PM) FYI, I've just lodged a complaint to SCB yesterday regarding the super high conversion rate they charged on my overseas transactions. I guess this is the reason why Standard Chartered can afford to give its credit card holders 3x - 5x points for overseas transaction. Keep us updated |

My JustOne just arrived today. No more RM50 bonus... but the SCB fellow applied for the Business Platinum for me and my wife also, and I was told that once we activate the card by charging to it, we will have RM100 credited to the card. RM100 x2 = RM200. Yay!
The Business Platinum itself isn't very special... 0.5% rebate (excluding petrol), access to KLIA premium lounge, travel insurance, purchase protection, 3x points for overseas purchase... I'd probably stick to ABMB Platinum since it's about the same (or better in most areas) in comparison. Also, today I asked for an annual fee waiver for Citibank AirAsia card which will be due in October... was told that my usage is too low, if I can spend another RM900 with the card by October, I'll get the waiver. Cancelled it outright. A question - buying things / booking hotels from overseas websites, considered overseas transactions or not? If yes, then SCB JustOne effective rebate is 1% only after considering the 1% administrative charges. Added on August 12, 2009, 6:07 pm QUOTE(Aeon_Clock @ Aug 11 2009, 09:39 AM) woow...my MBB Petronas only got 5k credit limit. After I request, they only increased by 2k. What a joke. My Citibank Giant card CL is RM3k This post has been edited by Dannyl: Aug 12 2009, 06:14 PM |

Example : If you buy a Malaysian Airlines one way ticket Bangkok->KL don't be surprised that the transaction is actually charged in Thailand and considered as an overseas transaction. (obviously coz it's paid in THB) |

Guys, I'm hosting some guests from China. Is it normal that a CC without chip (only magnetic strip) being declined by terminal easily?
So far I have observed that majority of MBF terminal failed to swipe this type of CC. I thought CC terminal should be equipped with dual swipe mode (chip based and strip based). Anybody experienced this before? |
