Hey guys, Im currently 18, having a height of about 163cm and weigh about 45kg. I know you're gonna kill me after reading that, but listen first. Im not gonna complain that I'm fat, but the thing is, I actually have small bones and I dont look fat. But when you see the inside, I have quite a big tummy. I dont know where it came from because Im prone to having lots of wind in my tummy too. Problem now is, I wanna shed off this tummy and at the same time slim down my face, so Im gonna give it a go on dieting. Im currently exercising daily, not so much on the threadmill. I go for walks and 30minutes on the cycling machine(trying to build calf muscles). Will crunches help ? Any advice? smile.gif Thanks in advance !

Hmm,why not so much on the treadmill? It is the best cardiovascular workout in order to burn fats fast and to increase stamina as well.

Crunches will help you to get a toned and solid abs muscle. flex.gif

Haha because I die after 20 minutes on the treadmill. But anyway, I will start training my stamina on it from now on (=
Is there any protein thing you think I should start consuming ?

You're a confirmed case of skinny fat. It's a "conditioN" where you don't have enough muscle mass thus the bulk of your weight is from. If you want to lose the belly, I can almost guarantee you, cardio+sit-ups will bring you absolutely no where. In the end, you'll most likely lose your breasts and buttocks shape.

You need to add more weight to your body in the form of muscle mass.
Read here 4 more detail.

I want to know how accurate is the Tanita body composition instrument.

back in January, my body fat was 18.3% measured using that machine, then until today, the bodyfat increased to 20.2%, while at the same time, I lost 2kg. This implies the muscle mass has reduced, however this is weird, because over the past few months I been doing some strength training, now my arms and abs have started to show some definitions, still not satisfiable but it definitely look differently than in the past. My tummy has also become smaller (not sure its the psychology effect or not unsure.gif) But even if I do not become fitter through these few months, definitely I do not become fatter as well, then how come the sudden rise in BF%

is it because I have taken lunch, drink water just about an hour before the measurement?

my current weight: 71kg, been doing regular cardio, closed to balanced diet

you may want to start trying to trust the mirror. Do you see a leaner dattebayo or fatter one? That could tell you whether the Tanita thingy is accurate or not...

you can try to eat 2 hours before sleep. But, don't take roti canai or nasi lemak as supper. Maybe some oatmeal and milk/whey.

Actually as long as you have caloric deficit, you can lose weight. be it muscle loss or fat loss.

Hi,

I have a general question with regards to alcohol and calories.

For example, if I drank like 2-3 litres of beer and end up puking the lot of it with food because I got wasted.

Do I still absorb all the calories from that or just part of it?

Thanks.

u'd found that Gardenia's wholemeal wasnt white as Hi 5?
alrite, next time i take some picture to u
between Gardenia and Hi 5's wholemeal bread
and u'll see the differences
yea,i do agree with uan org of their size should have standardized operations & recipes.
but ITS a diff as compared to KL,different state's factory make different freshness's bread
instead,i m comparing wholemeal bread,not white bread.

yea,agree with u
gardenia green color wholemeal bread,THAT ONE SUCKS.
IT USED TO BE "OK",but now its "WORST"

Thumbs up, Sky.Live! I wouldn't recommend margarine to anyone in the world. One step away from plastic, anything at room temp that doesn't spoil sure isn't good. That's why my cupcakes must be refridgerated. Makes sense wink.gif

Clark Fann, I admire yr dedication. Great job on your focus girl. And...Happy birthday in a few days ;-)

Now as for the bread, you see, the goodness of the bread is determined by the flour they use. Commercial bread definitely doesn't use 100% wholemeal. They probably use 30/70 and add in some grains here and there to make it good. What I'm saying is that Hi-5 has a higher ratio of white to wholemeal flour, and Gardenia has more, because hi-5 has a lighter texture. I also feel that Hi-5 has more preservatives, because it doesn't mold fast, but that may also be because it has more white flour in it than Gardenia. But I also suspect Gardenia has tons of preservatives =Z I'm SO making my own bread tomorrow!

Has the Green Gardenia bread gone down in quality? Over the years? In what way? What makes it so that yall are against it? I haven't tried Breakthrough.

And yes, definitely different plants have different qualities just because of the practicality of the location.

I'd recommend the 5 or 7 grain sprouted bread. RM6 per loaf, but definitely worth more than the who-knows-what in Gardenia & Hi-5! I don't blame them, they've gotta make their money but we have to be smart consumers too.

What time do you guys get to bed regularly? I get 6 - 7 hours of sleep daily; however since consciously taking into account what how I'm livin, I'm trying to get to bed before 12 at least 10 or 11 (ouch. KILL THE NIGHTLIFE!) so my body is at its optimum. Weight loss & sleep (esp hours before midnight, and quality sleep) correlate.

Clark Fann, one more question for you. Have you heard of Jillian Michael's Metabolism book? What do your trainers say about metabolism?

My own weight issues & what works for me are a little different, because of my history, physiological..emotions...psychological things. Eating healthy & exercise is a lot more than just willpower for me heh! But thankfully I've got my hands on a book that's helping me so far.

Alright, I'm over & out wink.gif

See yall in a bit.

When you sleep doesn't matter k. I sleep 4am sometimes, and sometimes I don't sleep throughout the night and sleep in the afternoon. I'm still losing weight.
Only sleeping duration matters, at least 7-8 hours.

Well. Your body has a cycle. At night till noon your body is completing it's detoxification period. The sun sets appropriately for us to observe this but with electricity, we let our patterns all go wonky.

Weight loss can come readily, but health and further weight loss depends on your sleep. Also, you get hungrier when you don't have enough sleep. Your body is trying to get the energy it needed when it didn't get recharged. I actually didn't want to sleep so much cos I thought you could lose weight NOT sleeping. I somehow din gain any weight (and lost) during a period where I slept very late, very little...so I thought it may have something to do with it. I was...misinformed. I had eaten less probably, or given my late dinner time to digest, cos all my brainpower was going into college. WELL! Sem's starting again in two months. Back to the drill.

Although fearz, what kind of line are you in? Looks like lots of work's in there huh! Take care man. BTW, you sleep 7-8 hrs straight in the day?
