It should be the same around the states as Gardenia, an org of their size should have standardized operations & recipes. In Melaka/Penang, there isn't a diff as compared to KL.

I haven't actually eaten bread in a while (just began last Sat) but I'd found that Gardenia's wholemeal wasn't as white as Hi5. I'll buy a pack just to test. If you notice, hi5 takes forever to go bad, signifying heaps of chemicals AND the absence of the life that makes wholemeal bread go bad quick in the first place. White bread doesn't get bad as fast because there are no nutrients at all. Just starch.

If all else fails, get/do home made bread, so you can monitor the sodium levels, and no extra preservative junk inside.

Thumbs up, Sky.Live! I wouldn't recommend margarine to anyone in the world. One step away from plastic, anything at room temp that doesn't spoil sure isn't good. That's why my cupcakes must be refridgerated. Makes sense wink.gif

Clark Fann, I admire yr dedication. Great job on your focus girl. And...Happy birthday in a few days ;-)

Now as for the bread, you see, the goodness of the bread is determined by the flour they use. Commercial bread definitely doesn't use 100% wholemeal. They probably use 30/70 and add in some grains here and there to make it good. What I'm saying is that Hi-5 has a higher ratio of white to wholemeal flour, and Gardenia has more, because hi-5 has a lighter texture. I also feel that Hi-5 has more preservatives, because it doesn't mold fast, but that may also be because it has more white flour in it than Gardenia. But I also suspect Gardenia has tons of preservatives =Z I'm SO making my own bread tomorrow!

Has the Green Gardenia bread gone down in quality? Over the years? In what way? What makes it so that yall are against it? I haven't tried Breakthrough.

And yes, definitely different plants have different qualities just because of the practicality of the location.

I'd recommend the 5 or 7 grain sprouted bread. RM6 per loaf, but definitely worth more than the who-knows-what in Gardenia & Hi-5! I don't blame them, they've gotta make their money but we have to be smart consumers too.

are u DREAMING?U trying to lose weight, and u ASK TO HAV SUPPER at 11pm or 12am!
LOSE MORE WEIGHT while slepping with a growling tummy will harm ur stomach!
u should change ur routine,NO SUPPER NO STARVING and cant sleep like this late.

What time do you guys get to bed regularly? I get 6 - 7 hours of sleep daily; however since consciously taking into account what how I'm livin, I'm trying to get to bed before 12 at least 10 or 11 (ouch. KILL THE NIGHTLIFE!) so my body is at its optimum. Weight loss & sleep (esp hours before midnight, and quality sleep) correlate.

Clark Fann, one more question for you. Have you heard of Jillian Michael's Metabolism book? What do your trainers say about metabolism?

My own weight issues & what works for me are a little different, because of my history, physiological..emotions...psychological things. Eating healthy & exercise is a lot more than just willpower for me heh! But thankfully I've got my hands on a book that's helping me so far.

Alright, I'm over & out wink.gif

See yall in a bit.

Well. Your body has a cycle. At night till noon your body is completing it's detoxification period. The sun sets appropriately for us to observe this but with electricity, we let our patterns all go wonky.

Weight loss can come readily, but health and further weight loss depends on your sleep. Also, you get hungrier when you don't have enough sleep. Your body is trying to get the energy it needed when it didn't get recharged. I actually didn't want to sleep so much cos I thought you could lose weight NOT sleeping. I somehow din gain any weight (and lost) during a period where I slept very late, very little...so I thought it may have something to do with it. I was...misinformed. I had eaten less probably, or given my late dinner time to digest, cos all my brainpower was going into college. WELL! Sem's starting again in two months. Back to the drill.

Although fearz, what kind of line are you in? Looks like lots of work's in there huh! Take care man. BTW, you sleep 7-8 hrs straight in the day?
