Better to start using the lotion now because it's going to take awhile for the marks to go away anyway. Plus, it's not too late. Pregnant mothers can minimize their stretch marks a lot i.e. it's not so glaringly obvious.

TBH, stretch marks is something I don't worry about so much. Cellulite on thighs are more ugly. The orange peel is baddddddddddddddddddd...

And if I can look like Beyonce, I'd be happy already. wink.gif

I've always said to my friends, "Beyonce looks like an overweight seal" but alright....guess she has her own share of fans.

Anyway, you sure you've only been reading this stuff for a few months? It seems pretty good understanding.
Another thing that I cannot recommend enough, is to stretch. It's one amazing thing to make you feel good and look good. Also it elongates your muscle fibers, to give it a "smooth" look.

What is protein shake?

From what I understand, protein is harder to convert to ATP during exercise. Carbo is the easiest one. Will it affect my exercise performance if I convert to protein shake only?
*

Protein is for your body's recovery. Muscle reconstruction.
Carbs is for ATP. I don't think anybody takes protein for energy......

yeap my ankle is quite stiff, i cant even sit in a kneeling position ( those Japanese tea ceremony sittings? ) it really hurt. I have a very strong joints, good is that i am not easily injured, bad thing is that it's very stiff =/
*
Contrary to what you may think, strong joints doesn't mean bad flexibility. In fact, flexible joints actually help AVOID injuries.

Take two people, one who's flexible and one who's as stiff as a bloody stone with rock hard strong joints and jump on them. The one who's flexible is able to bend and absorb the impact while the rock stiff guy will likely, occur injuries because of the impact. Ever noticed when a weightlifter cleans a weight (gets it from the floor to teh shoulder), they always rebend their knees? This is to absorb the impact from the weight as it "POPS!" out of their shoulder when standing.

You just need to stretch your ankle. Google this. "Tricking stretching" There's a site that teaches a lot of stretching. It's a tricking/free running site but it's got good info. Even free running needs good flexibility. When they jump and land, they always rebound and roll to minimize impact.

Ah. I didnt say it was bad, I'm just saying that it's 100% fat yanno. 10g of olive oil has more fat than 10g of mayo wink.gif

Your dish looks amazing!! I jz hate things saltless - "The use of salt is valuable in low blood pressure. Until the blood pressure reaches normal levels through proper dietary and other remedies, it is essential that you take salty foods and half a teaspoon of salt in water daily."  thumbup.gif  thumbup.gif  thumbup.gif er.. hurray for low blood pressure? wink.gif
Btw an interesting insight I received after a questionnaire today :

You're a fast oxidizer.

Because you crave salty foods, cheeses, and meats, you may be a fast oxidizer. This is the fancy term for your metabolic rate. It simply means that you burn through the nutrients in your food rapidly and that you therefore produce energy instantly. If the energy is not used immediately, it is stored as fat. Carbs only speed your oxidation and energy production further. So to best serve your metabolism and feel energized both physically and mentally, you require foods with higher percentages of proteins and fats. Make sure that there is protein in everything you eat, including snacks. Your ideal meals and snacks should break down to a ratio of 20% carbs, 50% protein, and 30% fat.

Sounds really like me. The thought of a thick juicy steak, with salt and pepper drizzled all over it, with cheese melted all over the top......RAWRRRRR!!!!! I'M HUNGREEEEE

Yes... very headache subject. Wei, I think if we can understand all these, we can become advisor and earn $ ady laugh.gif
You reminded me something!

No wonder everytime I balik after Taekwondo training, still feel the body heaty and hard to sleep (still feel very hyperactive) until 3 hours after training. Elliptical session can never do this.

So, this is called burning fats? laugh.gif
*
It's because of the raise heartbeat during the session that carries on after you complete the session. It usually happens when you've had a solid workout with your entire body. Why the elliptical machine doesn't do that, is because you're not exactly using your whole body. Yes you're sweating, but only your legs, hips are moving. Also the resistance is extremely low.
So....well, it cools off after a short while.

Hey guys, Im currently 18, having a height of about 163cm and weigh about 45kg. I know you're gonna kill me after reading that, but listen first. Im not gonna complain that I'm fat, but the thing is, I actually have small bones and I dont look fat. But when you see the inside, I have quite a big tummy. I dont know where it came from because Im prone to having lots of wind in my tummy too. Problem now is, I wanna shed off this tummy and at the same time slim down my face, so Im gonna give it a go on dieting. Im currently exercising daily, not so much on the threadmill. I go for walks and 30minutes on the cycling machine(trying to build calf muscles). Will crunches help ? Any advice? smile.gif Thanks in advance !

You're a confirmed case of skinny fat. It's a "conditioN" where you don't have enough muscle mass thus the bulk of your weight is from. If you want to lose the belly, I can almost guarantee you, cardio+sit-ups will bring you absolutely no where. In the end, you'll most likely lose your breasts and buttocks shape.

You need to add more weight to your body in the form of muscle mass.

I'm 155cm, was at 21.5% bodyfat when my weight was 55kg. rolleyes.gif

You dont need to be obsessed with scale weight. You need body recomposition to lower your bodyfat level.

Start lifting heavy.

HARDCORE!

ClarkFann.....we've a female lifter that has recently started training. Her back squats are 75KG x 4 x 3 (sets x reps) She also has a clean pull (Or deadlift) max of 80KG. In about 2 months of training. She also snatches 40KG and CNJ's 55KG. She looks pretty alright trust me. Don't worry about lifting heavy things.

Hmm....apples being simple carbs. Now that's new. It does contain sugar yes but maybe we should switch to the term Refined Carbs i.e. processed carbohydrates that make it easy to breakdown. Because essentially, that's what simple carbs really is.

When it comes to pre- and post-nutrition stuff, what I'm reading lately is telling me that bananas shouldn't be eaten on it's own for people who exercise a lot. That they need a proper supplement to replace the nutrients that they have lost or used up during the exercise. They call a banana "sugar that is dressed up!" lol!

I usually don't advise about pre- and post-nutrition stuff as it can get extremely touchy with people here. And considering that I have problems exercising regularly, they probably wouldn't want to listen to me anyways. smile.gif

And yeah, I do work there. We change names now though. tongue.gif

Paralysis by analysis once again.
I can't comment on other athletes, but here's what a lot of Chinese eat for breakfast, right before they train (How'd I know? I would.....don't worry how I know)

Their physiques? As below.

Hard work baby. More hard work.

First thing in the morning...like as soon as your feet hit the floor...consume a "high glycemic" meal with more "sugary" carbs, high quality protein, and no fat! (A good example would be a banana, bowl of breakfast cereal, and whey protein isolate mixed with non-fat milk.)

This specific combination of nutrients will create a short-term spike of insulin that will act as a fast transport for your remaining "free testosterone" and shoot it directly into your muscle cells to stop catabolic muscle loss and trigger insane new growth!
Perhaps this is a good tip for you all as well. Stop thinking of muscle growth as bad. That "BAD" muscle growth, could be what's inhibiting you from progressing at an even faster rate.

QUOTE(rice01 @ May 29 2009, 12:14 AM)
There is no such formula for this, just use cardio and jock every day .
if you use cardio for 30 mins every day you will loose 3-4 lbs in a week...
*
And when you hit a plateau?
IF only fat-loss was as simple as cardio and J.O.G (Jock:a person trained to compete in sports), the world would suck for "herbal-hidup"

I just think it's time you gain some muscle. Right now your body looks, soft. It lacks that tight, Megan Fox look, and I'm pretty darn sure it's cuz of your lack of muscle mass.
