The other time when I got a call from Maxis CS I gave them a feedback on the CS calls from the mobile line for Hotlink. It's bloody expensive to call the helpline from the mobile.

So I did suggest to them why not have a free helpline service for all Hotlink users.

For me in Uni, it's intermittent. At certain time of the day the signal is full bar at my hostel but at some time it only shows 2 bars. In class worse still... No signal at all but my other friends using Maxis has at least 2-3 bars doh.gif

I have a terrible experience with Digi last time. Very poor reception. Now switched to Maxis, most of the time full bar and good reception.

Just FYI,those with old hotlink plan like Total,Talk and sms plan call to OFFNET if without reload Rm30 is Rm0.49/min(60 sec block). Now hotlink plan's rate to OFFNET is Rm0.35/min(60 sec block).

Moral of the story,Hotlink plan is cheaper, don't let money sucker company suck more of your money.

Hey guys, a postpaid and prepaid user here.

Well, you see, I use the prepaid to SMS girlfriend, postpaid to SMS other people and call.

Now we all really messed up and broken liao, I never use the prepaid much anymore, and I don't wanna lose my nice number (01b-a8b8c8a) so what should I do? How much is the minimum topup that is entitled to extend my number so it won't die off?

Hey guys, a postpaid and prepaid user here.

Well, you see, I use the prepaid to SMS girlfriend, postpaid to SMS other people and call.

Now we all really messed up and broken liao, I never use the prepaid much anymore, and I don't wanna lose my nice number (01b-a8b8c8a) so what should I do? How much is the minimum topup that is entitled to extend my number so it won't die off?

Port it to Happy, reload Rm5 get 60days validity. Or subscribe hotlink 365.

Let's say I topup RM5 every month - is it enough to keep my number active?

if you just want to keep the number, won't use it to call at all, then rm5 every 3 months is enough to just keep the number.

Is it because i'm overseas or because my credit is about to expire on the 6th april? I have Rm98 balance

Guys i found this option on easymenu: Upgrade to hotlink plan
i checked my plan and it says im on hotlink365, true coz i've activated it on 3rd Jan.

if i choose to upgrade to hotlink plan means my hotlink365 will be cancelled?

edit: i'm already on hotlink plan before activating hotlink365

There is no point of changing to Hotlink Plan if you have already using hotlink 365 because hotlink 365 is already exactly the same rate with Hotlink Plan rates. If you really wanna change to hotlink plan, wait till 365 is over then only change it.

Btw, when did Hotlink change their Active 10 and campus zone rate plans. It is different pricing for SMS plans and Hotlink/Total plan for A10. It is 40 cents per min now for SMS plan at peak. What is the different compare to non A10? No wonder my credit is dropping so fast.

The 5 cents sms. Cause I sms around 75% and call around 25%. Last time, HZ and A10 rates are the same along all plans which is 15 cents per min. Now it is 40 cents for sms plan. I hate the 60 sec block too, i called my friend, which is in KL but using Sabah Digi no. 1 sec enter voicemail RM 2.60 gone shocking.gif

They wanna force you to convert to Hotlink plan may be biggrin.gif . I think you mistaken, all this while sms plan's active 10 rate is 40cents during peak hour,i knew it because i'm using sms plan too but now converted to 365 plan which is same with hotlink plan's rate.

What i mean 365 plan is i subscribe to 365 validity. If you are old plan user like Talk,Sms and Total plan if you subscribe to 365 then the rate will automatically follow hotlink plan rate.

Hi guys, i m currently using hotlink prepaid

I bought a new phone and will have access to mobile internet, planning to subscribe maxis internet plan 5MB RM8 package.

1. Do i need to change to maxis postpaid if i want to subscribe this plan?
2. Rm8 5MB- does it mean i pay rm8 and have 5 MB usage max? What if the usage exceed 5mb?
3. I only do light surfing (google) and check email, is 5MB sufficient?

Thanks

QUOTE(CreepyCrawly @ Mar 31 2009, 03:15 PM)
Hi guys, i m currently using hotlink prepaid

I bought a new phone and will have access to mobile internet, planning to subscribe maxis internet plan 5MB RM8 package.

1. Do i need to change to maxis postpaid if i want to subscribe this plan?
2. Rm8 5MB- does it mean i pay rm8 and have 5 MB usage max? What if the usage exceed 5mb?
3. I only do light surfing (google) and check email, is 5MB sufficient?

Thanks
*
1. Yes (if i not mistaken)
2. If exceed 5mb, u will be charge as pay per use (10sen/10kb on peak, 5sen/10kb off peak)
3. 5MB is sufficient if you really2 light surfing, and only browse on the phone browser (do not surf using computer/laptop).

maxis is dying.. lol

how shame, claimed to be the number 1 telco in malaysia but lousy network and bad service quality. when you're number one, u represent malaysia to the world..

imagine when tourist come to malaysia, they bought hotlink starterpack to be use while in malaysia, because they had been told that maxis is number 1 in malaysia.. then they realise that the service quality is very2 bad, of course they will think if the number 1 is this bad, the other telcos must be worst that that, and finally they will conclude malaysia is bad..

I just called their cust. support. Apparently, Hotlink service is down, NATIONWIDE. So no one can make calls or shit.

Dear god, what the f*ck is this, Maxis? Some goddamn April Fool's joke? I am going to laugh if it turns out their servers got infected with Conficker and totally went down or something.

i believe maxis have no choice after more and more user ported out every day, this time they desperate to launch their very own youthplan. the rates even lower than UOX, unbelievable. with their huge profit and sufficient fund im sure they can sustain with those rates..

digi and celcom must find a new strategy.. this time hotlink will definitely beat down their competitor. with current situation (hotlink still control the market share), im afraid digi/celcom will loose.

VP80 call rate of 12sen/m = HotlinkYouthClub rate of 12sen/m.
VP80 5sen/sms = HYC 1sen/m.
VP80 commitment of rm960/year = HYC commitment of rm10/year.

Looks like postpaid call rates are under pressure to come down.
First to react should be digi.

Good stop-gap by Maxis. But be prepared for counter by digi.
A telco industry article mentioned that Mal prepaid rates are too high among the regional players.
That explains the downward drift of rates. Soon prepaid users will rejoice. rclxm9.gif

I only have a basic cert..missed the chance to study at kolej.
So, no HYC.....i jeles. yawn.gif

* laugh.gif Special Car Sticker for Joshua: "Blunt words may appear sharper than they are."

*We have to compare Maxis postpaid & prepaid because it seem to be cheaper TCO to be on prepaid (4year validity).

*There is HYC, now we want HNSYC = Hotlink Not So Young Club (above 22).

If I'm not mistaken, Maxis is using 30-second/block for its postpaid and the latest HYC is using 30-second/block too. Only the existing Hotlink prepaid is using 60-second/block.

Yeah, i hope Digi will introduce something like this because my phone book basically divided between maxis and digi user. If i can send 1 cent sms to everyone, than it would be great.

1sen/sms is too much to ask. Telco also need to profit.

But I can give you some good advise. I can sell you RM3/month unlimited messages from any network in the world.
Only you need to lend a supported phone from your fren; like N70, N73, N95.

Then you have to send MSN to 2016; after you MNP to digi.
Rephrase: If you are Maxis, you have to change telco to digi. Then subscribe to DIGI WLM service @ RM3/month. refer to DIGI website.

The affect is neither your frens & dad will also want to use the same service. thumbup.gif

I would say 1sen/sms is not really that much to ask for. I happened to see in Indonesia and surprise to see they could offer 1 sms at 1 rupiah. sweat.gif

If phone call 1sen that that is too much laugh.gif

Btw, on your advice, please do provide information in details.
The sentence in bold leading people into confusion.

Its true that sms consumes negligible amounts of bandwidth. Essentially free revenue for the telco.
Imagine free unlimited sms, with your postpaid package.

But Digi WLM will break their monopoly. Unless Maxis also come out with Maxis YahooMassager? Or Celcom BoogleTalk? thumbup.gif

6 cents/SMS to other telco is earning nearly 0% of profit. Maxis is actually subsiding RM 0.0x for each SMS to other telco in their HYC.

So, 1 cents flat rate is impossible, at least speaking from Malaysia context.

And what now, comparing DiGi WLM with SMS? doh.gif
They are two different things. Not everyone turns on their MSN all the time. There is still flaw with DiGi WLM.

do you have the sources of the inter-telco sms rates?

I read last time it has a gradual reduction from year to year. I thought it's like 2-3 sen/sms?

correct me if i am wrong.

the rate is insane. 1 cent/sms. i wonder how Maxis could afford to subsidize that much. now my Digi is falling far behind already. sad.gif

logically it wont. because who gonna pay the exchange rate for u? maxis? If maxis really do then everyone will abuse it.
Maybe the worse maxis will bare half and your gf need bare the other half.

When you call her in Spore, there is no charge to you but there will be a charge to her number since she is in roaming service.

Nope. She will be charged like crazy for receiving your phone call.

My advice is go for IDD using iTalk using fixed line. Only RM0.10/min nod.gif

Manually call 122 to change the language to English then 2 or 3 days later easy menu language will follow the chosen language.

no, i read on their website, the basic plan is 30sec charging block.. if the basic plan also 60sec block then no point people want to opt that plan.

i think their marketing strategy is, extra plan is targeted to people who love to make a long call, so they decrease the call rates but still using 60sec charging block,

while basic plan is targeted to anyone make a short calls, the call rates is little bit expensive but they change the charging block to 30sec.

Extra plan is cheaper but charging block 60sec
Basic plan is expensive but charging block 30sec

so you have to choose, maxis is very smart in maximise profit.

customer behaviour - more than 50% of customer base in each telco making call less than 1 minute per call with/without notice. Thats why they dare to bring down the rate but remain the charging block at 60 second

Oh sry because first time when i read through I saw the rates quite the same just that Extra plan have the 25cents rate different from the basic 1. The basic plan should be better right if you always make calls within 1 minute. The 60sec block potong stim really.

i know maxis got so many complain after using 60sec charging block last year.. and the pressure force them to come out with these new plan..

they reluctant to change back to 30sec block because they currently enjoying overcharging their users, so some 'smart' marketing guy in maxis come out with this idea

why dont we change back to 30sec chargin block to stop people angry (with basic plan), but at the same time we offer another new plan with slightly cheaper call rates with 60sec chargin block (extra plan)..

im sure most people will interested to subscribe extra plan because it cheaper.. so at the end, we still win because can still continuing enjoying extra profit with 60sec charging block..

and at the same time, those customer who like to complain very much can simply stick to the basic plan.. no more complain, so we can improve our reputation back..

at the end, maxis 2 - 0 consumer. maxis won!

hey bro very good story haha. Luckily this time they come out with HYC , so Maxis 2 - Consumer 1 , still maxis win sucking blood but some users enjoy lower rates with HYC.

Got Hotlink SMS today

The sms says like this
"JIMAT! Setiap panggilan ke rangkaian lain pd kadar 35en utk minit pertama & 28en/min seterusnya.
Cakaplah lama-lama utk menikmati kadar yang lebih rendah"

Is it only applicable for me or for all hotlink users?
I remember that b4, Hotlink charges 48en/min to other telco network.
Only if top up Rm30, then the call rate will be flat 33en/min.

*
At the moment,we can't check what plan are we using. After tomorrow then only we can check. Got this info from their website.

anyone know these are what?
the basic plan & extra plan is under hotlink plan? or that are new plan?
above pay rate are rate after top up minimum Rm30 or normal rate?

currently plan available:
1. talk plan
2. sms plan
3. hotlink plan
4. hotlink 365 (same to hotlink plan, only validity not same)
added basic plan & extra plan?
5. basic plan??
6. extra plan??

any others (others than total plan & easy plan, sabah sarawak plan, youth plan) ?

I suggest that put all call rare, smsm rate, mms, video call, etc for all plans and put at first page.

I don't understand. I'm on Hotlink365 and when I checked my plan using *100#, there's extra appending message of "JIMAT! Setiap panggilan ke rangkaian lain pd kadar 35en utk minit pertama & 28en/min seterusnya. Cakaplah lama-lama utk menikmati kadar yang lebih rendah".

So am I on EXtra plan too?

Take it like this, Extra Plan is ur main plan, hotlink365 is ur sub-plan,
so you will have ExtraPlan's rates and Hotlink 365's validity, does it make sense now?
Haha. This is just a guessing, still waiting to be proven.

Me myself should be having this HYC + HOtlink365 plan. My expiry date is 2014.

But previously I was on Hotlink plan and then I subscribed to Hotlink365. I didn't subscribe to Extra plan nor change any plan recently.

1. What is this plan all about?
EXtra Plan is a new innovative prepaid plan specifically designed to bring the best value to customers, especially those who talk longer. Now you can talk without worries!

http://www.hotlink.com.my/web/portal/hotli...xtra_faq_en_web

i think it is not main plan & sub-plan, as mentined it is 'new innovative prepaid plan'...

thier information stil not enough to fulfill our questions.

Yes you are right, hotlink did provide information about the new plans but they did not explain clearly about their previous Hotlink365 plan. Has it been integrated into all plans as a secondary plan or not , we don't know...

What is hotlink doing lah, should enlighten users right...

extra plan can switch to basic plan.
it should be dial *100# > MyAccount

"9. Can I switch back to BASIC plan after I switch to EXtra Plan?
Effective 21st April 2009, you can switch back to BASIC Plan for FREE (Free Promo ends 11th May)."

http://www.hotlink.com.my/web/portal/hotli...xtra_faq_en_web

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

and hotlink 365 actually just same as hotlink plan, only different is the validity. but hotlink call it one of the plan.

Currently I'm using Standard Pack with 2 sub card. I was recommended to switch to value pack which doesn't have line fee and all lines can use up to rm170/month, plus they are giving 2 free numbers so it's 5 number for rm170/month. The rates seems much cheaper with free minutes.

Is this a good choice to switch? Any hidden cost?

Hi,

Anyone knows how much will I be charged when I send mms? If I'm not mistaken, only RM0.25 per mms right? How about GPRS rate?

How about when people send me mms? Will be charged for the GPRS data for receiving them?

Thanks

Standard rates:
GPRS usage :
Peak Hours (from 7.00am until 12 midnight) = 1sen per KB.
Off Peak Hours (from 12midnight until 7.00am) = 0.5sen per KB.

For example:
If the content size is 50KB, the charge is 1sen x 50KB = 50sen.

above info taken from their web, i didnt saw any / remember/ known any charge of RM1 for each connection.... new charge applied ??

GPRS could provide data rates from 56 kbit/s up to 114 kbit/s. It can be used for services such as WAP access,
3G networks are wide-area cellular telephone networks that evolved to incorporate high-speed Internet access and video telephony, for those using maxis 3G, they also can use their device to make a phone call.

Hey all, i just upgraded mine to Maxis unlimited 3G RM 99 few weeks back and im loving it! i tested the 3G speed in my area by connecting my phone to my laptop and i got this

user posted image

so i've been using 3G instead of streamyx to download some stuff cuz its 2.5 times faster then my current streamyx speed! my data usage shows i hav already hit 1GB mark.

i have 1 question, does maxis have a "soft cap" of which they will throttle down your speed after a certain amount of data usage?

yeah.. i was on maxis 3G before... borrow from my fren when he went overseas for a week. downloaded a couple of movies.. damn fast... then the next week,i can't get past 1Mbps. called CS and they told me it's already over 4Gig of data downloaded, so the speed got throttled. wtf? haih... it's not that worst but at that rate, streamyx was definitely faster.

if you're on the move and need to go online using laptops, then the 3G plan unlimited is the best. but for downloads and home usage, still streamyx or jaring is the best out there.

about maxis postpaid plans, haih.. i've been on 150 plan for almost 2 years now and i'm actually quite disappointed with it. Rates aren't that good, especially sms rates to other telco. At one point, my SMS were more than that of my call... costing me RM260 compared to calls RM100 only. WTF? then i bought prepaid for celcom and digi and just use them when SMS. now, my bill down to 160 to 200 again and the prepaid usage is around RM30 per month. so, still well within my monthly budget.

i think that's the best way to go around. have all 3 of the major telco lines, and pick one for your postpaid... have the other 2 as prepaid. u will save a lot, that's from my experience.

that time although my fren has 60 days to top up, but he too lazy, everytimes wait til last day only go to find reload card, that was bad thinking.
actually he can top up 1-few days days before due date, and buy a card to standbay first, but he didnt , everytime just wait til last day , then rush here rush there find reload card.
not same now, after expired the credit stil remained same, jz cant call out, and has enough time to top up again.

Well, last year yes DiGi's one was credit.
But with its latest DiGi I Like prepaid, one of its plans - Super Long Life, RM 30 will be deducted fro your credit once you subscribe to it and it isn't credit but it is a fee for 1 year credit validity. smile.gif

I think he is referring to normal Hotlink plan.
I hate the stupid 60secs/block thinggy, it makes me leave Hotlink. mad.gif

Yes, as of for me HYC is the cheapest considering that most of my friends were Maxis user.
But considering HYC is only for 4 years while Celcom UOX is until your 26th's birthday.
Some more Celcom having a wider coverage and you need to photostat your student card to apply for HYC which is pretty troublesome.

Celcom also need student ID or IC right? Maybe for UOX case until 26th's birthday but for HYC some might register at 25 and still get to use it for 4 years.

hello,

just wanna ask if la, i switch from prepaid to postpaid under my mum's supplementary line, means every month i gotta use/pay rm50 minimum la kan the value plus 50?

let's say if my sms & calls tak sampai rm50, but i use my 3G, will it contribute towards the rm50 or its seperate?
as in value plus 50 is only for calls+sms rm50 OR calls+sms+3G rm50?

sorry if this sounds confusing lol...

Got this from Hotlink website:

QUOTE
I just realized that now I am being charged higher, as compared to earlier, for my voice calls on Sunday during day time. Why?
To make things simple and straightforward, we have just standardized the off-peak hours for all 7 days of week by changing the off-peak hours on Sunday for

Active10 voice calls
Active10 video calls

So the off-peak hours on Sunday which were 12 midnight - 5pm has now changed to 12 midnight - 10 am, effective 22nd June 2008. However, the rate per minute still remains unchanged for peak and off-peak period.

So, off-peak hours is from 12 midnight - 10 am. Outside this window time will be on-peak hours.

Yeah but I have already changed to postpaid.
Didn't manage to redeem my points before I change.
Is there any chance I can redeem back after I change to postpaid?
*
Nope. No chance already.
What usually people do is redeem free credit and then only convert to postpaid. Then rebate the balance credit you have in prepaid. smile.gif

hav a question bout Maxis postpaid.
I'm using value plus 50 and family plan RM30.
Means d minimum amount I pay is RM80 per month

If I subscribe Extra 10, which is d correct one:
1) Minimum usage RM80. Plus RM8 for Extra 10. Total minimum RM88
OR
2)Minimum usage RM80. The RM80 I pay includes the RM8 of Extra Ten charge?

Thanks alot.

Who is eligible to subscribe to this club?
All Hotlink, non-Hotlink and new customers who hold a valid local Student ID are eligible to subscribe to Hotlink Youth Club to enjoy this offer.

http://www.hotlink.com.my/hotlink/youthclub/faq.html

should be can. they stated who hold a valid student ID card are eligible to subscribe.. so should be not limited to Uni/ colleage only.

and, youth plan is prepaid.

There is no direct way of telling whether you have exceeded the 20 hours of free calls, maybe get a Symbian software to do that?

today i blur again when surf thier web, saw these:

Note:

To all Hotlink customers - the Instant Flat Rate of 33 sen/min promotion has ended. Now, enjoy even greater savings with Extra Plan with calls as low as 25 sen/min to Hotlink/Maxis numbers, and 28 sen/min to non-Hotlink/Maxis numbers. The longer the call, the lower the rate.

To all Total Plan subscribers - the 50% off normal rates with every RM6 spent has ended.

To all SMS & Talk Plan subscribers - you can no longer switch between SMS Plan and Talk Plan. You can however, upgrade your plan to Extra Plan to enjoy greater savings.

http://www.hotlink.com.my/web/portal/hotli...ink_Plans_SA_en

that mean all current hotlink users assigned to extra plan??? rclxub.gif
or it just mean Flat Rate of 33 sen/min promotion has ended, and then recommand users switch to extra plan to get 25 sen/min to Hotlink/Maxis numbers, and 28 sen/min to non-Hotlink/Maxis numbers?

and the supp line, is it supp line can supp to any value plus plan, family plus plan ? and supp line can choose any plan?

If the main line person require, ask your dad to call then or pass the phone to your dad during the conversation

Well not bad if u do like this, 50 for calls + 120 BIS unlimited = RM170 + 5% tax every month.

Btw which BB model u using?? the question u need to ask your self is do u really need unlimited?unless if u browse internet or phone as modem than its ok.If only for email entry RM40 is enough 5MB usage.

Just my opinion bro cheers.gif yam seng

U are refering to multi line 1sim? because there are 2 things,

1.multi line 1sim (2line 1 sim)

2.multi sim 1 line (2 sim 1 no.)

If through my opinion its not a very good thing to do.People call both numbers it will go to the same phone but i seen before people use that service but unable to view mms.Must view via online through the link given.

They will put both the numbers service into 1 new green colour sim card that they will hand it over to you and please note that sometimes the service might be down.

QUOTE(Darkmage12 @ Apr 14 2009, 11:50 AM)
no, i read on their website, the basic plan is 30sec charging block.. if the basic plan also 60sec block then no point people want to opt that plan.

i think their marketing strategy is, extra plan is targeted to people who love to make a long call, so they decrease the call rates but still using 60sec charging block,

while basic plan is targeted to anyone make a short calls, the call rates is little bit expensive but they change the charging block to 30sec.
*
Some findings:

1. One of my number is on Hotlink 365. There was no change of plan ever since. When I inquire my prepaid plan (*100#), it says:
"Hotlink365. Talk longer to enjoy calls at 33sen for the 1st minute & 25sen/min for the rest of the call (to Maxis/Hotlink numbers). Charged at 60sec block."

2. My other number, ever since purchased, I did not change plan (just as above). When I inquired what plan it has, it says:
"EXTRA Plan. Talk longer to enjoy calls at 33sen for the 1st minute & 25sen/min for the rest of the call (to Maxis/Hotlink numbers). Charged at 60sec block."

These means, for some people like me who do not care/think much of these things, Maxis auto converted us to EXTRA Plan.

So I tried switching to Basic Plan on my non-Hotlink365 number, it said:
"Switch to BASIC Plan for FREE (Promo ends 11May) and enjoy the LOWEST call rate of 33sen (Maxis-Maxis: 30sec block)"

But I did NOT proceed (I will still think).

There is something vague about the statement of the Basic Plan above "33sen (Maxis-Maxis: 30sec block)" ... how about calling other operators, is it still 30sec block?

Anyone can help me clarify this?

I've subscribe to Maxis Value Plus 50, does this means I can used up until RM50 before I need to pay additional charges ? So far my Maxis bill always exceed the amount (more than 50) even when I used less than RM10

Anyone can help me clarify this?

I've subscribe to Maxis Value Plus 50, does this means I can used up until RM50 before I need to pay additional charges ? So far my Maxis bill always exceed the amount (more than 50) even when I used less than RM10
*
Well the RM50 is your commitment which means if you use less than 50 u still need to pay rm 50.

Why you always pay RM50++ when you only use RM10? its beacause minimun is RM50 +5% gov tax + maybe some VAS (call forwarding, clir, crt, etc) so there is extra charge on it.

Yes bro, u need to walk in to any maxis centres or dealer stores but not advicible to go to dealers as they always give the wrong infos and simply sell because they are getting commision for registration so they will simply up sell the plan to you. vmad.gif

Well for digi u only can go from prepaid to postpaid but not postpaid to prepaid.

For maxis its more flexible can switch from prepaid to postpaid and postpaid back to prepaid.

If you are using Hotlink prepaid than its automaticly but if you are using postpaid than need to activate it.Just stand by some reload coupon for emergency while you are roaming.

let say the main line is 50 and the sub line is 30,
if main line use only rm15 and sub line use rm60, are they still being charged rm80 or separately?

On your condition you will be charged rm 80 + wat ever your VAS + 5 GST only

If the above situation occured when using celcom o digi u will be charged RM 50 (for rm 15 usage) and RM 60 (for your rm 60 usage) = total RM110 tongue.gif

already 2 months i was charged seperately, whereby i spent less but my bil was almost doubled.

I called 123 five times for clarification but they explained to me only credit limit was shared between the lines, whereas credit sharing was not applicable.

I feel like being cheated, and the call operators are unprofessional, they do not understand well about the service of Maxis.

So is this the official thread about Maxis?

I am part of the postpaid user from Maxis who ported to Digi quite a few months ago because of the expensive rate charged by Maxis for every calls made and the hefty monthly fees charged by Maxis. Now I am with Digi, I found out that their network wasn't up to par with Maxis. There is quite a number of areas that Digi has left out on it's coverage maps and there are times I've missed several important calls and only got notified by Digi miss call sms.

I'm here to ask a few questions about Maxis actually before I decide whether to port back or not.

1. Is there any plan from Maxis that doesn't have any monthly fees involved and instead follow Digi's monthly commitment concept?
2. Digi currently charges 13 cents per minute for calls made with any networks. Most of my contacts are using Maxis. Is there any cheaper rate than what was offered by Digi for calls made to Maxis?

I'm a little confused with what was mentioned in Maxis website. rclxub.gif

1. I believe if you are talking about monthly fees plan, that is really old plan I believe. Currently they are having quite a few of Value Plan for postpaid. Check it out.
EG: VP50. If you use below RM50, you need to pay RM50+tax. If you use above RM50, pay what you have used + tax smile.gif

Nope, 8 cents should be the cheapest you can get for calls made to Maxis. However that is only limited to 10 numbers. 12 cents for calls made to Maxis (if according to Value 50) - still cheaper than 13 cents. smile.gif

does it happens all the time or once in a while? for me it only happens once in a while due to network upgrade/down which is acceptable for me. if it's every time u send sms, perhaps u may want to check your phone settings first before reffering to a maxis CSA. it's just my 2 cents whistling.gif whistling.gif whistling.gif

I found out the best to resolve your problem is report to consumer rights with evidence. There was once i reported regarding my caller ringtones. The consumer rights ppl really take action. Maxis called me up and check on the status and try to confirm with me to make sure everything is all right.

Thanks for your reply. I have already checked this with Maxis website and will consider porting back from Digi to Maxis as soon as time allow me to do so.
Nope, 8 cents should be the cheapest you can get for calls made to Maxis. However that is only limited to 10 numbers. 12 cents for calls made to Maxis (if according to Value 50) - still cheaper than 13 cents.  smile.gif

QUOTE(Icehart @ May 18 2009, 10:54 AM)

I'm a little confused with what was mentioned in Maxis website.  rclxub.gif
*
1. Most of maxis postpaid plans are commitment fee-based already.

2. Value plan 50 gives you the call rate of 12sen/min to maxis numbers. Since you mention you call mostly maxis numbers, you won't go very wrong with maxis postpaid plans. Look at the Value added service also, special rates available for 10 maxis numbers, for a fee.

Yes, with the reason you didn't change to any other plan. 'Assuming' you still 'love' your old plan that has monthly charges.

Guys, how long is usually the downtime when I change from Digi back to Maxis?

One source quoted me at least 2 working days while another quote me just about half a day. Which one is more reliable source? I want to port back to Maxis as soon as possible.

It will take around 3 days to work. Digi and Maxis will need to work on it.
It could be faster too depending to conditions

Happen to me twice. I e-mailed them using their online feedback form.

State down the complete Hotlinkgift sms content, and inform them. They will give you a call.

1st time, successful, I have all the evidences.

2nd time, fail, I deleted the messages and don't have record of my reload. Check my e-statement, but it is fund transfer. sweat.gif So, told them forget about it, don't want to argue much just for RM5.

And now? Keep pestering me to reload and giving me more then 300 free sms doh.gif

sorry, not been on this thread for awhile. no, you'll get back your 'roaming' deposit when you terminate either your roaming services or your line. but do verify where exactly you can do that (terminate roaming & get onsite deposit refund) apart from KLCC office. happy roaming then!

Because I use my phone mainly for business purposes and I travel to quite a lot of places. The coverage for Digi was very bad and there are times I missed several important calls. I have no such problems with Maxis before. Heck, even Digi doesn't seem to have coverage at some part of KLCC. shakehead.gif

What's more annoying is that I cannot receive signal inside lift where else my colleague using Maxis can.
No offense intended to Digi users out there, maybe Digi wasn't a good or a smart choice for me. wink.gif

wanna ask a question for my fren.....

he got a sup postpaid line....and he's in australia now...he just discovered his line doesn't have international roaming....

how does he activate it??..
*
the principal line must have 'roaming services' activated first. principal line then can ask for roaming access activation on sup line. if your buddy is the principal liner, and he's overseas at present, it'll be tricky as maxis usually don't allow activation without going thru their proper procedures.. but he can still call cs and ask if they could 'activate' the service for him.. no harm trying tho! cheers!

I already activated the mobile upload for facebook...

after i send the photo through MMS email to mobile@facebook.com , they should reply the notification code to my phone..... but i havent got anything from facebook....

the question is, why i didnt receive it ? is it anything to do with email setting ??

QUOTE(7thsky @ Jun 5 2009, 09:58 PM)
sorry, not been on this thread for awhile. no, you'll get back your 'roaming' deposit when you terminate either your roaming services or your line. but do verify where exactly you can do that (terminate roaming & get onsite deposit refund) apart from KLCC office. happy roaming then!
*
hmm....thanks 4 da info...but their expensive deposit kinda troublesome for the customer since celcom postpaid roaming, customer do not need to pay any deposit to activate it.... if i bring out this question/issue to customer servce, for sure he'll just answer, different company different policy.... yawn.gif boring excuse la...

yes, good thinking. the deposit term i believe is meant to 'hook up' lazy people like me, who stays with them for years simply because m too lazy to go get my deposit back.. perplexing terms as hotlink users with only $10 remaining in card can access international roaming without the hassle of all that.
cheers!

plus...
in the *100# menu theres no more option where we can check our accout details (payment, unbilled, outstanding balance)

i need to call the cs coz since end of last month i cannot log in to their website.. they say my number is not reg in the PIN system... so?? when i click new user n enter my mobile number... it says my number is already in the PIN system???

Ooops forgot to check first page summary, got my answer now.

BTW, does Hotlink accept customer to register a credit card as auto-reload? Means Maxis will automatically charge my card when my credit is below RM10 (or something like that) without having to worry getting a reload voucher and key in the code.

thanks.

It's still mentioned on their website, so it should still be available.

IIRC, this is a requirement by the government, so the plan should be available permanently.

Since im been more than 3 years from Hotlink, i really don't want change to other telco. Purchase another new number? 3 hp on the same time? sweat.gif

P/S: I still don't know what is on / off campus. sweat.gif

hotlink zone it matters on/off campus

Hotlink youth club off/on/side/halfon also fix. (CURRENT NEW ONE)

Meaning of OFF campus and ON campus means OFF campus Normal Rate ON campus SPECIAL RATE.

If u registered before end of May u would be able to port your current maxis no to HYC.

Now your only options are

1) Port other telco and back
2) Buy a new HYC simpack
3) Create a huge fuss with maxis and report to MCMC and force them to port in for you.

FOR HYC OFF OR N CAMPUS ALSO SPECIAL RATE
