QUOTE(CreepyCrawly @ Mar 31 2009, 03:15 PM) Hi guys, i m currently using hotlink prepaid I bought a new phone and will have access to mobile internet, planning to subscribe maxis internet plan 5MB RM8 package. 1. Do i need to change to maxis postpaid if i want to subscribe this plan? 2. Rm8 5MB- does it mean i pay rm8 and have 5 MB usage max? What if the usage exceed 5mb? 3. I only do light surfing (google) and check email, is 5MB sufficient? Thanks 1. Yes (if i not mistaken) 2. If exceed 5mb, u will be charge as pay per use (10sen/10kb on peak, 5sen/10kb off peak) 3. 5MB is sufficient if you really2 light surfing, and only browse on the phone browser (do not surf using computer/laptop).

maxis is dying.. lol
how shame, claimed to be the number 1 telco in malaysia but lousy network and bad service quality. when you're number one, u represent malaysia to the world..
imagine when tourist come to malaysia, they bought hotlink starterpack to be use while in malaysia, because they had been told that maxis is number 1 in malaysia.. then they realise that the service quality is very2 bad, of course they will think if the number 1 is this bad, the other telcos must be worst that that, and finally they will conclude malaysia is bad..

i believe maxis have no choice after more and more user ported out every day, this time they desperate to launch their very own youthplan. the rates even lower than UOX, unbelievable. with their huge profit and sufficient fund im sure they can sustain with those rates..
digi and celcom must find a new strategy.. this time hotlink will definitely beat down their competitor. with current situation (hotlink still control the market share), im afraid digi/celcom will loose.

very funny comparison.....the basic plan is still 60 sec block no, i read on their website, the basic plan is 30sec charging block.. if the basic plan also 60sec block then no point people want to opt that plan. i think their marketing strategy is, extra plan is targeted to people who love to make a long call, so they decrease the call rates but still using 60sec charging block, while basic plan is targeted to anyone make a short calls, the call rates is little bit expensive but they change the charging block to 30sec. QUOTE(szaku89 @ Apr 14 2009, 09:19 AM) I kinda strange about their new plans. If the Extra plan is cheaper, then why should anyone go for Basic plan? Question, why did they introduce 2 plans but not 1 whole plan.... Extra plan is cheaper but charging block 60sec Basic plan is expensive but charging block 30sec so you have to choose, maxis is very smart in maximise profit.

i know maxis got so many complain after using 60sec charging block last year.. and the pressure force them to come out with these new plan..
they reluctant to change back to 30sec block because they currently enjoying overcharging their users, so some 'smart' marketing guy in maxis come out with this idea
why dont we change back to 30sec chargin block to stop people angry (with basic plan), but at the same time we offer another new plan with slightly cheaper call rates with 60sec chargin block (extra plan)..
im sure most people will interested to subscribe extra plan because it cheaper.. so at the end, we still win because can still continuing enjoying extra profit with 60sec charging block..
and at the same time, those customer who like to complain very much can simply stick to the basic plan.. no more complain, so we can improve our reputation back..
at the end, maxis 2 - 0 consumer. maxis won!

QUOTE(Icehart @ May 31 2009, 11:04 PM) Guys, how long is usually the downtime when I change from Digi back to Maxis? One source quoted me at least 2 working days while another quote me just about half a day. Which one is more reliable source? I want to port back to Maxis as soon as possible. there is no downtime, because u can still use digi while your MNP request in process. may i know why you want to port back? is that because of HYC?

QUOTE(lkoky @ Jun 11 2009, 03:45 PM) Ooops forgot to check first page summary, got my answer now. BTW, does Hotlink accept customer to register a credit card as auto-reload? Means Maxis will automatically charge my card when my credit is below RM10 (or something like that) without having to worry getting a reload voucher and key in the code. thanks. i think with that situation u better use postpaid lor..

QUOTE(babysmile @ Nov 16 2009, 12:54 PM) maxis have to charge u from postpaid to prepaid because you can transfer 24 hours and anywhere... if transfer from bank, ensure you have laptop with wifi ... or any 3G connection u wish to top up and save the 50 cent charges.. if you ask me, i would say maxis should not charge anything, instead they should offer CHEAPER price.. why? 1) they don't need to print physical card reload 2) they don't need to pay 'komisyen' to dealer who should selling the reload 3) the postpaid user who help to reload any hotlink number is helping to increase hotlink ARPU so why postpaid user being charge 50sen to help them (maxis)?

QUOTE(Darkmage12 @ Nov 18 2009, 04:52 PM) Well to increase their Postpaid ARPU and Blend ARPU haha, im not sure about that.. the reload prepaid credit from postpaid line should considered under postpaid revenue or prepaid revenue.. quite confuse lol
