Senate has given their approval.
Waiting for Obama to sign the bill. Monday will be good day to load some stocks for week long rally. (hope so)

Some how I think our market has reached the bottom sometimes in Oct or Nov 08.

How good it could move up from here depends the effectiveness of global stimulus packages.

Till to date, as usual more on talking and still talking, and shorts of real aggressive actions by the so called Big Economies.

And our second --- is tied to to the UMNO election soon.

Just my 2sen opinion.

Well, next March 10 will be tabling of mini budget by Najib. So most probably local KLSE market will rally.
I would say go accumulate plantation stocks such as KLK, IOICorp, BKawan etc...
or GLCs companies such as Ramunia, Gamuda, TNB etc...

(Disclaimer: Just my personal opinion. Not treat as recommendation. Buy at own risks. Analysis the stocks before buying.)

Luckily i manage to sell it at RM0.13 last minute smile.gif

I read the Weekly edge stating the Interim Single Tier Dividend 30% for IOIcorp and the ex date at 18/02.

Will IOIcorp continue to be bullish?

WR means warrant right

It is just a piece of application form/right enable you to subscribe Sunway-warrant at RM0.20.

So after you bought the WR, you need to apply/buy for the warrant, otherwise the WR is deem void (your $$ in WR evaporise) after the expiration of last date of acceptance of the warrant application.

That also means signal printing dollar and flood the economy with huge amount Of USD, Gold is aprreciated 4.5% for the last three week. In the longer run US stock price will goes up because of devaluation of USD. However, current quater investor is US still looking at risk aversion and still 'fear' factor. DJI friday closing is the lowest in 2009, will it go for 2008 low?
Current SPY market price is USD 82.76 and a lot more awaiting put below strike 82 and large open interest low prob of expiring.

From recession to depression?

http://www.morganstanley.com/views/gef/index.html#anchor7467

"Money matters. Hence, no depression this time. The key lesson from the Great Depression is that policy, and especially monetary policy, matters a lot. Central bankers around the world have learned that lesson and have not only cut rates early and aggressively, but have also engaged in quantitative easing and are, together with governments, stabilising the banking system. Thus, money supply is expanding rather than contracting. This, together with the coming fiscal expansion, is the reason why we think that the widespread Depression angst is just that – angst."

Trading on Bursa Malaysia halts due to technical problems
By Fintan Ng

KUALA LUMPUR: Trading on Bursa Malaysia was halted at 12.19pm Monday due to a problem encountered with the stock exchange’s price dissemination system.

Bursa Malaysia Bhd public relations head Geeta Balakrishnan said in a press statement that trading on equities and derivatives was halted until further notice. Meanwhile, Sydney-based Deutsche Bank AG chief economist Darren Gibbs said in a report that markets should trade quietly on Monday due to a holiday in the US.

At 12.30pm, Tokyo’s Nikkei 225 was 0.22% lower at 7,762.39, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index fell 1.71% to 13,322.93, Shanghai’s A share index was up 1.32% to 2,351.42, Seoul’s Kospi Index was down 0.89% to 1,181.78 while Singapore’s Straits Times Index fell 0.48% to 1,697.52.

My 2 cents worth it will be for the previous year, so it should show a bit of drop in their turnover but shouldnt be much ....

as long as they don't open their mounth and start saying "the forecast for this year will be down by XX%" than gonna see a big slide. otherwise i reckon the bad result would signal time to move in and grab some cheap shares.

Added on February 16, 2009, 4:01 pmi still dont get it, although i agree that prices of FCPO will hover around 1600-1700 avrg... it seems plantation stocks are very upbeat gaining 1- 2 cents almost on a daily basis for small caps, i have yet to see any significant price drop in share holding although rumour to be a slump in demand?

market is most likely going to flat as an airport today with no direction... nothing exciting worth looking at except for Bursa Malaysia counter should be interesting since its the only counter that has not recovered much...

unlike Maybank sime Tenaga all this counters touched Rm 5 or lower be4 making a dramatic U turn... does this mean Bursa will do the same?

How come sometimes for certain counters, the last price is not out the moment the trading time is commenced? supposedly the trading price should be presented right for all the counters.. ?

What're you suspicious about LCL? just keep gulping in the buying call?

We're waiting for the DOW tonight.

Any ideas on how the dow will perform? It's already broken its last support, today will be crucial if dow can climb back up to 7900+ levels. failing which, bursa will nosedive tomorrow?

Hi Neo,
Of course I know lar! For me, all my minimum purchase is 5K. You're bigger fish than me, so 500 lots should be the right amount! tongue.gif
My current sell strategy is 20% profit margin. The reason is market still not picking up yet. So, go for small kill is enough. When I see sign of recovery, I'll hold my warrant until the mother share reach my selling target.

PS: this is my strategy, not a recommendation to anyone! Just a suggestion! Pls don't flame me! rolleyes.gif

Buy reit/dividend stock with 10% dividend, then you are getting 6% with bank money.

350K mean you are getting/earning around 20K for pa, but with a high risk.

actually, the correct calculation is like this...

i got 400k stock collateral already fully paid..
with my collateral i can get 400k worht of credit...

therefore, i already got 750k in the market (because i use 350k)

400k is in REIT, which is giving bout 9% nett dividend (because i bought some at high price too)
Balance 350k, all in 70% high dividend stock , balance 30% growth stock...

i want to REPEAT MY PERSONAL OPINION.. This opportunity only comes once in a lifetime. If u don't do anything bout it... then i think u deserve to remain poor..hahaha

Well, if market goes down to 700 point, then i eat bread and drink plain water everyday lor..hahaha

Share Margin Financing is good, when u have cash and enuf collateral to support the Margin Facility. Say for example u have ample paid up stocks (note the bank will discount ur shares when the receive it as deposit say a 50% haircut for example), house, land and any tangible assets.

Margin Facility are good because the bank actually finance ur purchase, if u know what ur doing 5% interest per annum lis very little compared to what ur about to gain.

On the flip side of this...
Close to 70% of bankruptcy arise out of margin facility, is margin facility good or bad u be the judge.

**
I think Neo18 would be the right person to start of with a Share Margin Financing thread (not in the sense of promoting it, but as a knowledge based thread)

I know bits and pieces of things to look out for in a share margin fainancing facility.

or anyone else who wants to get the ball rolling on this can start the thred.

I know bits and pieces of things to look out for in a share margin fainancing facility.

or anyone else who wants to get the ball rolling on this can start the thred.

problem is you dont want to the extent burden ur parents or friends or anyone around u... when a person is a bankrupt its like his hands and legs r taken away.

I dont think i need to remind u all the horror stories people whom are on the brink of bankruptcy, it is when we are there we only realize how cruel this world is and at the mercy of the bank.

for the time being we spend like there is no tomorrow!

Tee Kong Por Pee all of u make big money from stock market!!!

keep on sharing info!!!

i have also plan my exit strategy...

as at today 900 point, PE base on 2009 earning is 13x against 16.6x for the past 9 years earning. Therefore, it is trading at a discount of 20% base on historical average

Therefore, my exit strategy for 20% of my portfolio is

900 x 1.2 = 1080

therefore, i will sell when KLCI reach 1080

We're waiting for the DOW tonight.

Any ideas on how the dow will perform? It's already broken its last support, today will be crucial if dow can climb back up to 7900+ levels. failing which, bursa will nosedive tomorrow?

KUALA LUMPUR (Dow Jones)--Malaysian carmaker Proton Holdings Bhd. (5304.KU) is planning a monthly production of 3,000-3,500 units of its new Ezora multi-purpose vehicle, or MPV, starting from March, Bernama news agency reported Tuesday.

"We already started the preliminary production and the full production will start next month leading to launch in April," Proton's managing director Syed Zainal Abidin Syed Mohamed Tahir was quoted as saying.

The company has invested some MYR450 million to produce the Ezora, including MYR60 million to MYR70 million to modify its plant in Shah Alam, he added.

The Ezora is priced below MYR80,000 per unit.

DJ is at crossroad now, if it doesn't rebound from the 79xx level, and breach its support line convincingly, we might have fresh phase/round of downturn worldwide for equities market.

I agree. If we play margin, we need to pay monthly interest for the borrowed money, on top of that, when share prices drop down to a certain target, you have to top up the difference of the price by cash.
If unable to, then have to sell the shares that you are holding .

No, my previous statement doesn't mean that it is good for long term either.

Until it sort out its overseas operation, it is not suit to long term which has no sign until now.

Only Malaysia operation is earning them profit, others are leaking money, which is not good for the shareholders.
By no mean, Astro longer future is proven to be good especially in overseas whereby competition is intense unlike in Malaysia, Astro is monopolised business which gov has signed with them, no other statelite TV broadcaster is allowed until 201x (forget what year liao)

Just my opinion though.

like i said earlier, 5% interest per annum... basically the interest is so low the bank is putting money in investors pockets to invest in the market... furthermore (the assumption is) the market can easily give u returns more than 10% provided ur a skillful invstor.

nevertheless the outcome is uncertain yes, we may say margin facility is the devil etc... but it could potential enable him to profit 100 fold compared to an investor whom relies on his own pool of cash and Vice versa.

March stimulus plan will give good boost in contruction sector and Gamuda is tipped to gain from it.
Zelan oso stand good chance to rise if theres positive news on construction sector. laugh.gif

I sold off some of my Zelan stock.. made only peanuts.. doh.gif
Still have alot in hand.. average price 0.80.

5% interest is already a lot.
If someone wants to make a substantial profit (can be loss), at least have to borrow a large sum of money, say $500,000 . (To have this facility, you need at least $160,000 of your own asset as collateral)
500,000 x 5% /annum = $25,000/year.
If bear market like this carry on for months or years, servicing the interest alone can erode whatever dividends received and his own capital.
On top of that, as mentioned earlier is the capital top-up, if necessary.

Even if someone's risk appetite is lower, $50,000 x 5%/annum = $$2,500/year
Still, interest only is $208/month

Most of the time, bank is winner and clients are losers.

My opinion is margin play will do better when market is bullish.

I agree with that. Leveraging your money during a bear market is like leveraging your losses. The risk is just too high, not worth it. shakehead.gif

actually, the correct calculation is like this...

i got 400k stock collateral already fully paid..
with my collateral i can get 400k worht of credit...

therefore, i already got 750k in the market (because i use 350k)

400k is in REIT, which is giving bout 9% nett dividend (because i bought some at high price too)
Balance 350k, all in 70% high dividend stock , balance 30% growth stock...

i want to REPEAT MY PERSONAL OPINION.. This opportunity only comes once in a lifetime. If u don't do anything bout it... then i think u deserve to remain poor..hahaha

Well, if market goes down to 700 point, then i eat bread and drink plain water everyday lor..hahaha
*
Unless REIT continue to give you very high return and the high dividend stocks continue to give you expected yield and economy will break from recession soon. Else what you did is like playing with fire. Anyway, I salute you for the courage and your positive outlook on KLSE and the current economy situation. For me, I'll continue to balance out my cash:equities.

The problem with our gomen is they takes time or are ignorance of the current situation, thus they did not come out with good stimulus plan to counter it in phase 1. I expect phase 2 stimulus will be more or less the same, which will not stir the economy.

Cut interest rate won't help that much. People still prefer to keep money in the bank regardless of the interrest rate.

But it still can't boost up consumer spending. For example, if you have a house loan and you only save about RM100 due to the interest rate cut. But do you think consumer will use that RM100 to spend on other thing ?

Looking at current condition, its not impossible for DJIA to drop below 5000pts. Its a economic plague now. The next level of bad news may be credit card default rate. As ppl had a hard time to pay off their homeloan, credit card would be the only option left. sad.gif

Both the US and UK govt have deflation problem now, BOE and FED already in the money printing mode (buy govt bond). They may not want to see equtities market free fall and the market is indecisived. The good news is both Baltic Dried Index and copper future are moving up.

i dun understand how people could summarise "Stimulus Plan = market up". Every stimulus plan will need time for market to study whether it is sufficient enough or not. Stimulus plan doesnt mean the US will throw USD787million straight away into the economy. It is just a plan on how to address the issue.

If you listen to those so-called analysts of The Star, then you deserved to get your hands burnt. Look at the company's balance sheet first. Then look at the profit & loss reports. Green Packet announced to Bursa yesterday a net loss of RM38.66mil on revenue of RM25.47mil for the fourth quarter ended Dec 31, 2008 compared with a net profit of RM231,000 on revenue of RM26.46mil in the previous corresponding period. Green Packet also posted an annual net loss of RM59.48mil on revenue of RM88.43mil for the last financial year..

Frankly speaking, i dun think the DJIA will go as low as 5000. It will or it might breach the 6500 level, the hardest question here is - how long will it remains in the doldrums.

as at today 900 point, PE base on 2009 earning is 13x against 16.6x for the past 9 years earning. Therefore, it is trading at a discount of 20% base on historical average

Therefore, my exit strategy for 20% of my portfolio is

900 x 1.2 = 1080

therefore, i will sell when KLCI reach 1080

From CNN

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- China and Japan will stop lending to the United States! The U.S. government won't be able to finance its stimulus and bailout programs!

Those are the concerns that some analysts and investors have voiced over the past few months, as the government unveiled trillions of dollars in economic recovery and financial market liquidity programs and said they will ramp up their Treasury bond issuance to pay for it.

But those worries may be overblown.

"If you can't buy Treasurys, what can you buy?" said Michael Cheah, bond fund manager at AIG SunAmerica. "For the foreseeable future, to the extent that there is no alternative, big holders like Japan and China will continue to buy up U.S. Treasurys."

A report on foreign purchases of Treasurys Tuesday eased concerns that overseas investors would stop buying U.S. debt.

According to the Treasury International Capital (TIC) report released Tuesday, net foreign purchases of long-term Treasurys were $15 billion in December. The report relieved many investors' worries about the TIC data, which showed foreign investors had sold a net $25.8 billion of Treasurys in November.

China continued to lead all foreign nations, buying up an additional $14.3 billion of Treasurys in December. Japan, the second largest U.S. debt holder, bought up another $800 million of U.S. government bonds.

Though one month of data does not indicate a trend, analysts said they believe that the U.S. will continue to attract foreign investors, especially from Asia.

"The Chinese are locked into buying Treasurys," said Cheah. "It's not in their interest to do otherwise - it would kill their exporters and only make things worse."

Furthermore, droves of weak economic data from around the globe continue to hammer financial markets. With stocks floundering and commodity prices in flux, U.S. government debt has remained relatively attractive.

Treasury successfully completed a record $67 billion quarterly refunding last week, including the sale of 3-, 10- and 30-year bonds, attracting more than enough investors to fund the debt offerings.

As a result, investors' fears that the government will have difficulty making up for its escalating budget shortfall have eased somewhat.

The 10-year Treasury yield, which hit 3% for the first time since November on Feb. 6, fell below 2.7% on Tuesday, indicating an influx of bond investors over the past week and a half. Yields and prices move in opposite direction.

Still, with $787 billion it will owe for stimulus, $700 billion for the bank bailout and trillions more in liquidity programs, the Treasury expects to issue between $2.7 trillion - $4.2 trillion of debt over the next two years.

Not all are convinced that investors will continue to demand Treasurys when interest rates are again falling close to uncharted territory.

"The fear of trade is still on, and buyers can't find a better alternative elsewhere," said Kenneth Naehu, managing director at Bel Air Investment Advisors. "But the jury is still out whether the United States' ability to finance at low rates will continue to hold true, assuming the fear of trade tapers off."

Bond prices: U.S. bond markets were closed on Monday for the President's Day holiday.

On Tuesday, the price of the 10-year note rose 1-28/32 to 100-22/32 and its yield fell to 2.67%, down from 2.90% from late Friday. Bond prices and yields move in opposite directions.

The 30-year bond rose 3-9/32 to 100-2/32, and yielded 3.49%, down from 3.69%.

The 2-year note edged up 6/32 to 100-1/32 and its yield fell to 0.88% from 0.97%.

The yield on the 3-month note was unchanged at 0.30%. Demand for the shorter-term note is seen as a gauge for investor confidence.

Lending rates: Bank-to-bank lending rates were little changed. The 3-month Libor rate was 1.25% Tuesday, up from 1.24% Friday, according to data on Bloomberg.com. The overnight Libor rate, meanwhile, rose to 0.31% from 0.30%.

Libor, the London Interbank Offered Rate, is a daily average of rates that 16 different banks charge each other to lend money in London.

Two credit market gauges were showing a decrease in confidence in the lending markets. The "TED" spread widened to 0.95 percentage point from 0.94 percentage point on Friday. The bigger the TED spread, the less willing investors are to take risks.

Another market indicator, the Libor-OIS spread, increased to 0.98 percentage point from 0.97 percentage point the previous day. The wider the spread, the less cash is available for lending.

really the market can tahan but since dow drop nearly 300 points. no effect. just wondering for how long it can tahan. if DOW drop another few hundred points see how.

wondering how many stimulates plan/packages the govt can bring out in the near future. As Yap Cheng Hai (grandmaster of fengshui) say/predicted in June the govt/company will have depleted all the cash flow they have in no time.

HIT AND RUN MARKET. IT JUST LIKE GAMBLING TOA SAN(GOD GAMBLER) in casino OR KU SAN (GOD OF STOCK MARKET) gambling in stock market for now.

May be 8.xx ~ 9.00 will consider as it is ex-dividend now.
Except for local fund supporting the big blue chips and plantation stocks, I don't see why they need or should or can rally all the way, considered all commodities price still under correction phase.

Btw, Shell announced 30 cents dividend yesterday, full year 50 cents, better than FD. Not mean to recommend anything.

Now it is more about individual company strength and problem already.

Those strong fundamental one probably can withstand the market drop. But those company facing problem especially cashflow one, even market rally, they won't be performing too good either.

just wanna check, why people say KNM is pure goreng, correct me if i'm wrong.

Their dividend is 4 cents.

So lets say i invest about RM 1k, per year i get 0.04 x 2400 = RM 96

RM 96 / RM 1000 = about 9% returns. Isnt that pretty good? compared to standard cash deposit's returns?

only if they could sustain the dividend payout.

note that they gave 4 sens during 2008, that time KNM price was around 1.80-2.00. you're getting 2% only, and that's before minus the 26% tax.

KNM today's closing price is 0.42

point taken. but they havent issued new shares or anything major like that right? would it be safe to assume that dividends will be at least 3 cents? if all goes well with the stimulus and all.

Even if they pay dividends, you'll still have to ask, where did they get the money to pay the dividends?

Some companies can actually neck deep with debts, with negative cash flow, and still they have the money to pay dividends... They're heavily financed by the banks, or money from new issue of shares and so on.

Alchoholic still there. But market share has been eroded by Guiness Tiger.

It is a bad bad quarterly result, especially during 4th Q whereby CNY approaching should register brisk sales and good profit, instead a poor poor 4th Q result.

It cannnot sustain anymore special dividend without earn enough (EPS).

Another problem is smuggling activities that eroded the alcoholic sales.

ESSO? don't know meh?

Since its 4 cents interim dividend during April 2008, it has a bonus issue 2:1 and right issue of 1:4.

So more shares liao.

I think the profit margin for breweries has eroded since 1 year ago due to intense competition. Last time 1 carton usually about $110-130,
nowadays since before Chinese New year till now $88-100
I'm quite interested to buy Carlsberg stock but still feel unsure.

Since late 2-3 years Carlsberg result is deteoriating while Guiness still hold on its profit quite strongly, it just sum up the market share issue.

Infact Guiness is giving out around 40-46 cents pa (sustainable with EPS), while Carlsberg is struggling to give generous dividend (while some special dividend are given based on accumulated profit/cash not from sustaintable EPS).

Margin is squeezed since 3-4 years ago when gov raised the alcoholic tax.

Since its 4 cents interim dividend during April 2008, it has a bonus issue 2:1 and right issue of 1:4.

So more shares liao.

(sustainable with EPS) - does this mean "how well can a company generates profits solely based on the $$ they get from the investors"?

F&N and Coca-Cola end relationship in Jan 2010
KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 18 — Fraser & Neave Holdings Bhd (F&N) announced today that its bottler’s and distributor’s agreements with Coca-Cola Company which are due to expire on January 26 next year will not be renewed.

In its filing to Bursa Malaysia today, F&N said the impact on profitability for the following year may be material depending on the outcome of the post-termination transition plan, if any.

The company said it will make further announcements as soon as more information becomes available.

Currently, the soft drinks division is the single largest profit contributor to the F&N group, accounting for 48 per cent of the total operating profit.

F&N said sales revenue of the Coca-Cola products amounted to RM421 million or 35 percent of the division’s revenue in the financial year 2007/2008. — Bernama

"THE price of premium grade petrol RON 97 will be floated according to international oil prices from July.

It is understood that oil companies briefed their retailers this week that there will also be changes to grades of fuel sold at pumps.

Several retailers said the “regular” grade RON 92 fuel would be phased out and a new grade, RON 95, would be introduced, in addition to RON 97. "

Something to share here also, but i might not affect the market anyway tongue.gif

The news come out now, but the effect won't be felt during this financial year but the next financial year end 2010. So if people continue to sell now they have neglected the profits made by F&N prior using the Coca Cola brand.

I believe the share price of F&N will depreciate over a long span of time, the closer to the termination date the more severe the price will drop. For the time being it looks like its bothering on oversold.

As for future concerns...

1. Who will be the lucky one to pick up Cola's distributorship? (normally target price will appreciate significantly not to mention cola actually contributed 35% of F&N's profits)

2. Or... worse case scenario Cola will be moving in to Malaysia and setting up their own facility controling distribution and manufacturing. (this is a more likely prospect)

I think Coca Cola will announce something soon. They can't wait until last minute, right?
Anyone knows Coca Cola style? Do they setup their own facilities in other countries??? I think they need time to setup (unless they buy up F&N facilities). So, I think most likely they will appoint another distributor

India and china are two examples u r looking at..

the facilities r kacang putehla, i think Cola made enuf profits to setup a plant in Malaysia thats why they asked F&N to go fly kite.

I know they have more than enough money to setup a plant here. But, time is a concern. Buy a land, build the plant, install machinaries, process qualifications, etc. Less than 1yr can complete? Maybe, but they need to start now! So, they should be making some announcement soon!

Sort of.. lolz.. anyway.. the login page is very slow.. once you login .. wait til the white page loaded.. i tried 5 times.. only the fifth time.. i manage to open it.. there is another way to do it.. close up all the other programs.. first.. then just load the explorer and have the full processor to concentrate on the receiving end.. from the maybank server..
its just sluggish .. thank god can still login... Perhaps.. anyone call up to the maybank service center? should find out something i guess..

another problem could be your ISP provider problem.
Last week I had problem access to Maybank , Public Bank and other websites due to internet provider problem.
After calling TM, reported the problem , then next day could access.
There was some cable trouble.

Anyone complaint this to Maybank?

(sustainable with EPS) - does this mean "how well can a company generates profits solely based on the $$ they get from the investors"?
*
For company to pay shareholders with good dividend, they need to earn/make profit enough and cashflow to pay for you.

Any dividend given out not based on EPS is not sustainable in the long run.

There are some company give special dividend based on one off gain from asset sold or accumulated profit previously, but over the long run, they can't continue to do so without making enough profit (EPS) to sustain it.

Don't know, I saw several crane are working at bridge side (where the road is closed one).

Rumour said (I also don't know), crane dropped into the sea. (Penang bridge is under going expansion for another lane, so construction is working on there.)

Btw, it is disastrous news for F&N. Unless they working out something, otherwise, solely relied on its brand, sales will be impacted signficantly, and not suit to long term at time being.

no problem i thin they still got 100 plus to sustain. If they unable to become sole distributor, but noboday said they cannot become small distributor lah, there still earn, but profit may drop 10%. so the current share price may be sustain to rm7. as long as coca-cola still need distributors, and got market in malaysia, how F&N die with their huge network.

I think Cola wants higher fees imposed on F & N's distributorship which is so lucrative in Malaysia market.

Not worth to catch a falling dagger most of the time.

Sales of Coca-cola make up the 35% of the total sales of the company, so if there is no new development and company lose its business on Coca-cola, then at least 35% impact for the company financial result. So ain't share price need to adjust 35%? tongue.gif biggrin.gif

wah cruel nia, that would be 5.85 then (based on today's opening price) tongue.gif

Perhaps hinting to the investors that results to be announced are within the " expectations ", so plse hold on to the shares.

Just guessing only. Correct me if I am wrong.

Nothing good or bad, the transaction is totally insignificant.

30,000 shares just a little tiny peanut amount.
If they bought 3 millions shares then may be investors will be alerted.

Btw, it doesn't state the transaction is buy or sell either based on the information posted. It can be either way.

The announcement merely states that the principal officials intend to deal (can be buy or sell)in the shares of the company within the closed period.

Closed period means two weeks (not sure though)before the company announces the quarterly/yearly results.

This kind of announcement usually have no bearing on the tradings.

Hi Iklatmy,
Thanks for the reply!
My personal opinion is the principal official got minimum stock in hand. So, the chances they intent to sell the shares is low (if the company perform badly, the losses for them in shares also not significant). Therefore, I think most likely they intend to buy in a lot of shares (current price is very low based on my FA).
Any other opinion? Maybe can catch a good deal! brows.gif

Ya, these high ranking officers could be fired for selling 40, 000 shares ( worth rm 32,400 ) during the closed period, unless they want to go into real confrontation with the major shareholders.

Getting a new highly paid job is not that easy in today environment.

I thought the analysts will be giving sell calls and ppl will panic sell in the morning sessions after the dow support broken. But apparently, pretty calm sea.... eh. hiding a tsunami underneath?

Genting support line being breached, if + poor financial result ahead then we highly will have fresh new low, may be heading to 3.00 support level. sweat.gif

Unless market sentiment turns quickly or good financial result is reported which I highly doubt so due to UK and GBP plunging.

i guess a financial report without any "major surprises" from GENTING is good enough already.... sweat.gif with their latest cost overrun news on the Sentosa project, it's likely the price will be going south again..... <preparing "bullets" for average down> doh.gif doh.gif tongue.gif

Its not likely that they give a "major surprises" unless really posted from a +ve to big -ve report, it is unlikely to go to RM3.00 (Speculations that people really hope to happen but most of the time never happen cause by the by the time it really drop like flies some people also scare to catch the falling knife for fear of cutting themselves)

Genting- still a lot of FF stuck with this stock, due to high FF % holding previously.

They sell whenever the price is right, or market turns bad.

Write off of UK casino could be high too , another 300m as previous Q ?

Buy only if for super long term.

Just my 2sen opinion.

those who buy Genting at 3.60/3.62 recently, is either.

Option A - sell now with slight loss. hold cash, wait for big slump.

Option B - keep on averaging when big slump hit.

Genting support line being breached, if + poor financial result ahead then we highly will have fresh new low, may be heading to 3.00 support level.  sweat.gif

Unless market sentiment turns quickly or good financial result is reported which I highly doubt so due to UK and GBP plunging.
*
Could be the possible cause of the cost overrun for the singapore project which actually bill another 600 million S / US dollar cash extra of the projected cost. Just read it somewhere.. so is really heading down south i suppose.. break even estimated .. rm 2.50 will be a consider... pick up.. laugh.gif
