Yeah, it's the 18-105VR f3.5-5.6. It's a good starter lens (replacing the 18-135 methinks).

I've ignored the D40x and D60 and will continue to ignore this D60 special edition lol. But I bet their target buyers are new DSLR users, not us.

actually... my interpretation of what joseph is trying to say it that yr nor maximising/fully utilizing yr gears that other peole dun have so he wants you to appreciate it... but then... since you stated in the later posts that you just took up photography for fun and because you bought it because you just liked and can afford it, then i guess theres nothing more to argue about...

@dani_irwan as ebernie said, I prefer one with VR (or any equivalent) because it is a telephoto after all. If you think you won't be using at low-light conditions then its a good consideration. kelvin_yam has been using an equivalent lens from Sigma (I believe) to good effect with his wildlife and macro shots.

@ebernie well the tamron does say Macro on the lens so I assume it offers the same capabilities as the Sigma. And wouldn't the D90 be the primary body?

And yes I am seriously considering switching to the D90 (I'd still like the D300 though), although the priority right now is to provide for my upcoming baby and wife. Photography gear upgrades take second priority.

with tight budget, im thinking to buy sigma 70-200 f2.8 for wedding shoots purpose. n i think its okay for me, unless nikkor 70-200 f2.8 VR price drops like hell if 70-200 VRII really comes out.. 

n i believe if we utilise the gadget to the max, that shud be no problem. some of my frens impressed that i can stil produce a good pictures (though i dun feel so  ). for the wedding, i think the end products speak itself. my 2 cents..
d40 have child mode for ur upcoming baby..

wanna confess. will be bringing a D40x to bangkok next week. will be attaching a 50mm f1.8 nikkor to this awesome camera and manual focus throughout.
