Eh, where do u guys set up your cameras during the fireworks show? and isn't Putrajaya jammed like heck? I heard traffic horror stories when it was held last year and decided not to go, even though it's close to my place in Kajang.

Wow, D90 has video? Will it then be the 1st ever DSLR which has vid-recording capability?

QUOTE(mizivincible @ Aug 28 2008, 02:22 PM) Last weekend, I got to play around with my friend's 450D and her EX450 (Canon's speedlite, not sure if the model name is correct or not). It was my 1st time trying out a speedlight...so syiok one! I was bouncing the flash left right and centre, haha...also off the ceiling! The potrait shots I took simply amazed me...a far cry from the built-in flash for my D40, which produces pics that look like passport photos, haha. Suffice to say I'm really poisoned to get an SB-600 instead of a 55-200mm for my next upgrade |

Ciss, no wonder la. Last time, when I tried to explain what's the difference between AFS lenses to a Canon SLR-using friend of mine, he looked blur only. Haha, turns out his lenses are the same! Lol

motherker, 2 days ago I went window shopping at Pavillion Bukit Bintang. There's a camera shop on the ground floor, quite well stocked. I didn't get the name of the shop though. There I saw a Tamron AF 70-300mm lens, selling for RM799. So it's within your budget. Only thing is, I'm not sure it can AF on the D40 or not. Maybe all the sifus here can clarify...and also give their thoughts about this particular lens. You might want to check it out.
If I was in your shoes though, I'd get the Nikkor 55-200 VR. P.S: If I'm not mistaken, the price is also approx RM800...I think This post has been edited by dani_irwan: Sep 9 2008, 02:54 AM |

the 2nd shot, the flares are caused by your UV filter. remove it. 1st shot is overexposed, to me at least.

QUOTE(ifer @ Sep 9 2008, 08:58 AM) for some reason i like the first shot. the overexpose-ness somehow causes the photograph to have this very uncanny feeling. Haha, yes..I totally agree with u! Actually, when I first saw shot #1, I said, hey this is kinda nice...something about the sky and the city lights...macam surreal. the 2nd photo is normal... and that is kinda boring The 2nd shot, if without the flares, is ok la, looks normal. |

Except for shots in low light conditions I think...cuz I get flares too with my UV filter on, in low light. it's either remove it or use a better one, like a CPL filter (I might be mistaken
