vin_ann,

my MBB petronas is my first card and I just started working for 2 months. I guess they're either more prudent or downright slow in processing new applications.

CSers were great and I understand that they cant do much anyway if the processing department is slacking.

Anyone know what's the normal credit limit range for gold card from HSBC?

I was only given RM11k after 6 months of use, whereby my average monthly spending is RM8k and I always pay full, so I called up to complain.

I think it's likely because I'm a freelancer (i.e. no registered company - reason why I'm rejected by all other banks).

Anyway, I got fedup and applied for HSBC Premiere today only to find out that they increased my limit to RM20k because of my complaint.

wirelessdude,

I think HSBC gold CC CL range should be quite wide, maybe even RM50k-100k

looks like their std answer is in progress/processing. i called them up several times & the CSO always tell me is still processign. one day, i've decided to write in to complain, finally someone replied. she told me my applicaiton was pending as i my Ic copy is unclear & i forgotten to provide them my relative's contact. i got so fed up! the call center told me they receive all my docs & procesing my applicaiton, but someone told me something different,

i emailed the details to her. & told her tat i need the card urgently, told her to expedite for me. but still, i didnt receive the card & no news from then on, i wrote in to complain again. finally someone replied said will chk for me. the card is suppose to come with lifetime annual fee waiver if approve by 31 Aug. but in the end, the card was only approved in early sep. i dont know whehter this is reason they are delaying my application. vmad.gif

anyway, i've checked tat the card is in Pos office now. i'll go down to collect on coming sat. sweat.gif

wirelessdude, from the bank's perspective you're a lousy customer, spend money but don't carry any balance forward which means no interest income to the bank. Maybe that's why they ignore you biggrin.gif

Check your retail purchases against the international currency conversion rates at the transaction date. You'll see a slight variation. If you spend 1million rupiah on your slip ... of course it will appear as 1 million rupiah on your statement. They call it "administrative fee" and not interest ... of course if you call the CS they will tell you no interest.

Check your conversion rate again and you'll see there's a slight variation. (Check and tell us whether we are right or wrong) Of course we know what we are telling the folks here my friend.

Hmmm... that means no more diff between classic and gold? I always thought gold meant more privilleges and higher credit limit.

Normally standard processing time is 4 to 7 days maximum, but due to exceptional case it might be longer. Normally from what i observe is customers that signs up a HSBC credit card usually get annoys because we ask much more personal questions comparing to other bank. BTW guys i'm working for HSBC and if there is any questions or anyone needing to apply for HSBC CC's or services please do not hesitate to PM me cheers.
