ruztynail,

laugh.gif Don't get mad. It happened to me. Twice!!! My salary is banked into HSBC every month. I applied other cards can get, HSBC rejects. rclxub.gif Then, recently instead of I apply, HSBC called me and offer 5 yrs waiver. So I submit just the form only (no photocopy cards, docs, etc.) and HSBC approve it... doh.gif

Hi,

I am thinking to cut my Citi clear card and transfer the balance to my new Citigold(to be applied).

According to http://www.citibank.com.my/APPS/portal/gen...ce_transfer.htm

I managed to save Rm 103.99 if i do balance transfer. So , can anyone share experience of doing so? thanks

UOB will issue the PIN without you needing to apply for it. Could have been lost on the mail. Here's the downside, if you call them and ask for a new PIN, they will tell you that this will require you to cancel your card and reissue a new one. Perhaps this is the only bank which has this practice.

You can call in and try to check whether this is still the practice.

Normally balance transfer is for you to consolidate your debts from other bank's credit card. I'm almost certain that you can't perform a balance transfer from your Citi Clear card to a complementary Citigold card (Should be a Platinum card).

@Animeinter,
I'm surprised U had issues with UOB - neither me nor my family members have had issues with UOB and I've been using their CC since 1994.

@hye,
The CitiGold card is quite useful when U want to consolidate ALL ur Citibank accounts online; just need to create online login for that and all ur other accounts will be reflected on it [well there are pros and cons - and I don't like the idea it reflects FD accounts] but I love the fact I don't need to log into separate accounts for MasterCard and Visa biggrin.gif

I am glad you have no problems with UOB. As for me, this is what happened:

1: Took them 3 months to finally send my cc statement. After I have made numerous complaints, they still call me asking me for late payment. I mean I do not even have my statement. Why should I pay for something I am not billed?

2: I travel alot hence I get many calls from my CC company verifying my purchase. However, it ALWAYS takes UOB 6 hours or more before calling to verify. So much for security.

3: Whenever I called them, my call timer on my hp says 5 mins before I can even speak to their platinum customer service.

So yea, for me, they top the list for being the worse. I hope none of you go thru the same nonsence.

I don't have such problems like you do when I still have my UOB. They are very efficient except sometimes the CS is just too "strict" and not helpful enough. Not something which I fancy esp when you intend to use the card overseas and anything can happen.

I have since cancelled my card and moved over to HSBC - no complaints whatsoever I tell you. They learn my spending patterns and calls me whenever something occurs outside of norms. Sometimes within minutes of the transaction and then they will call me. More importantly friendly, prompt and I don't get the run around whenever I'm in a hurry.

Like the many advise which has been mentioned whenever someone ask this type of question - it is all entirely up to you. Different ppl have different experience with their cards and you have to take it with a pinch of salt coz different product suits different ppl.

If you like the Shell Citibank card, just apply for it. And if something happens which you don't fancy .... just cancel the card.

If I am already an existing credit card member, how can I apply for the Touch ‘n Go Autoreload Card?
Please visit the participating banks. The autoreload facility is only valid for credit cards issued by participating banks. Currently, the participating banks are Hong Leong Bank, Affin Bank, EON Bank and Maybank.

You can't actually. The so-called auto reload facility is you need to take up their "Zing" card. Many years ago, TNG accepts any credit card to be linked to the TNG card for auto reload and then they discontinue it because they had many problems with the system and they were losing millions. (You can PM me for the long version)

Nowadays, which credit card have the highest rebates?

In the beginning, Citibank came out with cash rebate. But very cheap rebates. I didn't apply cos i had bad experience with Citi. Citi is sharks.

Then, I know of UOB 1 card. 0.3% rebate, no condition. I applied.

A few months later, CIMB come up with 0.5% rebate. I also applied.

Now... almost all banks also offer rebates on their Credit Cards, and some Debit Cards (like Alliance Bank). Which one is the best? By the way, I 100% full payment of my outstanding every month. So those cards that require a balance carry forward... is no use to me.
