Guys, need some guide here,

I have a supplementary card from my mother and I want to know how to maximise its benefits (not usage )

The card is: CIMB Petronas MasterCard

and can I use any online banking for the card? even if I don't have a bank account with CIMB.
e.g: I can use the Citibank online banking to monitor my card even if I don't have an account with them, only the supplementary card.

Nothing much you could do without an account with CIMB.

I just got my new CIMB Petronas credit card yesterday and the limit is more than my expectation. But con't think I'll be using it now. Haha keeping for emergency.

only 2 UOB cards are not petrol related. haha

Hoh! just got a call from some cc scam, I think.

A Girl speaking Malay fluently using private number, mayb coz I'm a malay.

1st, she ask me..do I use my cc recently and do I hv any problem with my card.

Then she offering Platinum service card (can't remember exactly) from visa/mastercard company. Short brief about the card, the card is not a credit card just a card where u can get a lot of discount when shopping, travel and etc. And she'll post the card and will arrive at my house within 7-10 days.

I just listen and said Ok la, I'll check on the card when it arrive coz too lazy to entertain her and the line also not very clear.

Then she ask my Address to verify, okla.. I ask her to told me my address in her record 1st and I'll verify it. She said that the address in the processing department not in their department. WTF? I suspect something fishy here, then I gave her my fake address. Then she continue with the benefit of the card..bla bla..like want to end conversion already. (this moment I fell regret that I told her the fake address)

After that, she told me for security measure, she ask me when will my credit card will expired. HUH! now I'm really sure that this is one of the scam! no regret anymore. I start bashing her, for what purpose she want the details...she hang up.

i got this kind of call too sometimes a go. Its usual story, some kind of super free-for-life platinum discount card that will save you a fortune. Thing is she ask what my current card number is. Instantly i hung up.

If we cancel the card after we receive (not using it) , is there any charge ?

I've applied for Maybank Petronas VISA but didn't receive any phone call for 3 weeks, today i check my M2U.com account found that there is a Petronas VISA Credit Card account inside it, so strange, no one calling me for verification but the card approved already? Or it will be disapear from my M2U account if they fail to make the verification? Anyone has the same experience before?

By the way, my UOB card get rejected, may i know can i appeal instead of submit all the document again (I'm applying using pay slip...Don't want to submit again)?

last time I apply for MBB Petronas also the same, no one call me. Then I realize that in my maybank2u has the CC portion. I just go pick up the card at the branch that I told them to send.

For your case, I'm not sure whether u want them to send the card at your home, office or pickup at the branch.

If it appears in M2U, it's very likely that your application has been approved and no verification is required.

Anything, you can still go back to the CS for clarification.

So NOT TRUE. CIMB doesn't need you to activate the card if you choose to receive your newly approved credit card at one of their branches. But if they courier it to you, you will need to call their CS to activate it and they will ask you a few security questions or else the card will be rejected at any terminal slot the cashier swipe the card.


Yes. You can. All you need to do is ask your mom to request a pin number for the credit card as well as online banking service so you can keep track of your spending. You can get this even if you do not maintain any account with CIMB.


Mine too. Maybank never call my mom for verification but still approved our application.

If I were you ... if the bank don't want to approve you then just forget about it. They are not the only cc provider in town unless you have special reason to apply for the card. Plus .. you already have a credit card.

Emmm ... if I'm not mistaken, your appeal won't carry any weight since they probably will ask you to submit additional proof of income (or extra income). If you can wait then wait 1 year for your current cards to hit 1st year and then use those card to apply for UOB.
