how many cards does BNM limit to a person at a time ? i read somewhere else that around 7 - 9 banks. But i've seen somebody own more than 12 bank at a time ( all active ) .
Will the bank automatically cancel a credit card if the card has not been activated since receiving it ? lets say after 1 year.

Added on July 27, 2008, 4:47 ameeh , just found out that UOB " One " card does have Classic and Platinum difference.. The both card are looks 99% same except the " platinum " printed below the ONE.
In term of benefit i still dont know whether got any difference or not.

hm... i do think there is difference about the benefit between UOB ONE and ONE PLAT... and also i can't find generic plat card for UOB now.. does UOB already replaced their generic with preferred plat? For the one who want the fastest application , you can go citibank ampang for the application as it only took 1 hour to process your application. But only to existing card holder from other bank issued in malaysia..
i read on the banner it wrote if credit limit under 6k then the card must be 18 months old .. if over 6k then 12 months can already.. biggrin.gif

Yea , CIMB bank is the fastest so far i know, last few month i submitted my application at 21st Jan and approved on 22nd Jan then 23rd they called me up to collect the card at the branch already... laugh.gif

today just drop by the treat fair and browse thru lor.. lazy to go around as the place are so packed with people , the officer say process of application took around 1 and half hour.. get a temporary card for 4 days ( in use only for treat fair ) and will receive the life card around 1 week time.

Anyone visited the fair and what great bargain do you found there for TP and MBB cards?

I was rejected for my HSBC CC application.  sad.gif Same goes to my friends. They applied together with other friends, out of 5 persons applied, only 1 accepted, others rejected. But, all of us have same salary and work in the same company~  sweat.gif

Just now went Maybank Treats Fair, applied for MBB Petronas and MBB Amex~ For Petronas CC, already approved and got the temporary CC while they are processing for the original card.  thumbup.gif  For Amex, they said around 2 weeks.  smile.gif

last few months i applied the AMEX Charge Card from a officer in a shopping mall with my other two colleagues and i gotta my card but the other two were rejected.. i think perhaps they consider how much card you have , limits or total outstanding balance are used to the person to approve the card. some of the bank even avoid high risk job like lorry driver, florist , even the paycheck are eligible to apply but they still decline the application..

I think the approval rate at the MBB Treat Fair will be higher than normal , even the card sales officer are more than 30 at the main entrance (as what i saw today) , that shows MBB are targeting quite lots of new application and shoppers inside the area are being offer goodies thru MBB cards itself too.

But i only wondering BNM limit how many banks to offer card to an individual.. rclxub.gif

Added on August 1, 2008, 6:27 amanyone here holding three AMEX card at a time? i mean MBB Amex card, AMEX Charge Card and AMEX Platinum Credit Card , i believe this three card does have separate limit right? is it possible to get three card at once ? blink.gif

I never had any transaction with Cina India Melayu Bank(CIMB) *grins...

thinking of applying for their platinum card during this coming fair...since my office is @ KLCC...

anyone recommended this bank's cc?
*
hm.. their impression to me is fast , even i apply for their card less than 1 week time ( from submission of application till the day i got the card in my wallet ) , their platinum customer service line is hassle free which no press 1 for cc , press 2 for promotion , press 3 for etc etc, and they will answer ur call within 1 min , from my experience lor...

for CIMB i think better opt for mastercard because most of the time they give mastercard more benefit like converting payment to EPP thru phone only available for mastercard , visa are not eligible..
DA and CIMB cards is free for life without condition attached but their enrich platinum does.. but can call up their center to waive it off la... heheh

HSBC Platinum requirement is RM 150k per annum and CitiBank is RM 100k per annum . i think now two highest requirement of plat card is Maybank and HSBC .

Other bank now has already decreased their eligibility to around 80k since year 2007. So basically now plat card is not that hard to obtain as in 90's .

I believe that AMEX Plat Charge Card is the card who really show you're loaded , as application are by invitation , too bad we dont have centurion here .. maybe malaysian not that loaded compare to other country

i went through DA gold card requirement

Gold card: RM24,000 per annum (for Affinity / Joint Marketing Partners)
Gold card: RM30,000 per annum (for Generic Graduate Card)

what's the different? although there is remarks beside. but i don't really understand the diff blink.gif

normally co branded card have lesser income requirement than generic card. I knew some of the co branded gold card have nonsense CL as low as 3k. Difference should be in term of benefit , like you'd have special discount or even more point when you spend on the brand specified. But as what i saw , normally they will charge you " GOLD ANNUAL FEE " too despise that incredibly low CL offer to you. Most bank practice that and one ridiculous example is MBF . vmad.gif

i don't think you can prompt your supp card to get your own principal. You'd need to have your own principal card to apply. Or else submit the required document.
So far i've no complaint to cimb card services and they does deliver quite 'platinum' services and speedy too. But for internet banking i think MBB still offer the best. Clean, user friendly and detailed transaction.

for the easy payment plan, if anyone wish to pay lump sum of the balance available, write in to the bank and fax over and bank will call you to verify the termination of instalment. Tried on few bank already. But i never get any penalty la.haha. Depend on your negotiation skill on da phone.

i was rejected to entry as they exceeded the 200th customers. That's last month. But i didn't know that it was for month and not day! I thought the first 200 for the day. So that mean if you went there at end month surely is cannot enter .

Added on August 17, 2008, 5:06 amis the credit limit offered by Amex Plat Credit Card acceptable ? Maybe will switch all my card usage to amex if the limit is plat type.

if the CL are above 50k then it should be enough for me biggrin.gif , most of the time i have to use it for official use and my own too.. and because of the conversion , if too little credit limit , it will be very hassle if i use it in europe. Currently my usage for company and oversea transaction are on AMEX charge card, and other smaller amount are charged to visa. But since AMEX has the credit card as well now , maybe will consolidate every usage to just one brand .

IMAX ,

i think you should check with UOB center about your card, if UOB have sms you about the activation then the application is approved.
This is the number 03 2612 8080 and you better check it in case of your card stolen/missing when it's on the way to your house.

by the way i'm posting this in LCC Premium lounge and the services over here is quite normal la, went in with eon plat , my fren with his priority access card ( RHB complimentary card ) . Food over here , frankly tasteless and cold. If asking me to pay for RM 80 for entry , i will go for other places for food. shakehead.gif

The massage chair is at the corner lot , terapox !! no one is on da chair but the problem is there is a paper stick over there written " OUT OF ORDER " shakehead.gif shakehead.gif shakehead.gif
