Of course not PBB employee otherwise why I need to ask you this question? lol

But I wish I were...so many good things I heard.
*
Ok yeah I admit it was kind of a dumb question.

Good things? Depends la. The housing loan part is just another way for the bank to retain their staff. But there's no way in heaven you'd get your 650k staff housing loan approved by the time you reach 28 years of age. There's a cap on the loan size and it's based on your drawn salary. Knowing PBB with their peanut starting salary and increment, it's gonna take a long time before you're eligible for that loan size.

But still, where else can we get 2% interest for housing loan lol.

My bro started working in PB this Monday. Nothing to do for the whole week. Didn't get his ID yet. There's another new staff that arrived one month earlier who still haven't received his as well. One more thing, even got nothing to do, when he leave 5.45 sharp, the manager ask "go back so early ah?" lol.

This is the culture of PBB, their branch managers mostly are the chinaman style. Even u have finished your job, you still got to pretend that you are busy. There was one time I left at 6.15p.m and my branch manager saw me at the outside, he then questioned my superior why they "allowed" me to leave home so early.

Shouldn't be hmm.gif

The working hour is from 8.30am to 5.30pm most of the time
If work beyond that hour is consider as OT

But I agree that the working culture there is Chinaman style

I remember that I had to pretend busy despite got nothing to do

There is no such things as OT in this bank. I knew this before I joined the bank so I am okay with that. However, what is ridiculous is that they expect you not only to get home late, but also come to work early. The working hours should start from 8.45, but they expect you to come to the office at 7 something. However, for new officers, there is no much things you can do at that time as you won't be handling a specific department. They just want you to come this early as the other officers do so.

What a stupid ass culture. Btw my bro joined for 2 weeks already but can't access to the system and do any works. You would think that the manager will be understanding because of this. But no, every day also have to sit there staring at the PC wait until 6.30pm or 7pm to leave.

They have very straight policy for information access
You need to fill in request form and pass it to IT department for acknowledgement first before accessing any information

Me opposite pulak. Got my computer access within the first week but for BDS system I only received it a few after that, just right before I resign. LOL.

Remind your bro to rush his BM to get him access to the system and the BDS.

Wow my third week in PB, attached in credit processing HP Centre.

As cautioned by others, the working culture here is less than ideal to say the least. The head is a nice guy. But persons below him such as managers and seniors can be plain-spoken and mean at times. Also they can be very busy and have no time to teach you stuff. Since they are busy, they expect you to learn fast so that they can go on with their works. Also, it's my third week and now only I can access my PC and the system. Working hours can be long. Working until 8pm onward and working on Saturdays are normal.

I guess the good thing is their staff welfare and benefits. They give many leaves like annual leave (24 days), sick leave (30 days + 30 days hospitalization), exam leave (7 days) and a few other leaves. Your medical expenses is also fully covered. My colleague underwent operations costing 10k but PB fully paid for him. And upon confirmation, you'll be entitled to housing loan, car loan, motorcycle loan and a few other loans with about 2% max interest rate. Another good thing is their training. They provide training constantly at Bangi, and the training is usually fun. If you want to pursue chartered bankers paper, the bank will also sponsor you.

This bank give good benefits, but if you cannot tahan the working environment, maybe it's not suitable for you.

Tbh, it's normal for bank to give high annual leave. Last time I worked in a bank, I'm entitled for that high annual leave.

But for normal companies out there, you are entitled for 12-18 annual leave for exec level position.

you're based at KJA right?
I do enjoy my job as I have nice colleagues and bosses, and I don't wake up every morning dreading to do the 1 hour commute to work at Menara PB. I have friends working in other local banks and they bitch alot about their colleagues and their work ethics while PBB staff unite in bitching about our pay tongue.gif

btw your bonus heavily depends on your department or branch. MT do receive year end department/branch bonus but pro rated to the day you joined.

yup I'm based in KJ, living around the area as well so it's a good location to commute with acceptable traffic jam. That's nice if you have nice colleagues and bosses. Our pay is quite low as compared to other banks I do agree with you on that haha. Wow MT also receive bonus? that's good, hopefully our branch is doing well this year. May I know in which branch are you attached in?

If you think PBB benefit is good, wait until you join a MNC.

There's plenty of better pay , better environment, better growth out there. If you think PBB has the best benefit you might want to reconsider.

Cant argue with the 2percent staff housing loan, its like the opium given to the staff in order to retain them, so nothing to brag here.
