I'm wondering normally how long does it takes for Public Bank to conduct the background check? I got an offer from them but they need to do the checks before releasing the offer letter

On average depending on the 3rd party service provider they use, can be 1 week to 4 weeks

Hi guys I just applied for the management trainee position on 30 oct and I got the call on 1 nov. It’s been like a week with no updates from them. The last phone call the recruiter said she will contact me if there’s any update. Is it take this long or I didn’t pass to be interview? And I am wondering if any of you same like me only get the call and not the proper interview?

Just had my management trainee interview today. Do you guys know what hints the HR will usually give to let the candidates know they are hired? I am not confident with the answers I gave during my interview

As long as you're not facing serious health issues, chances they hire are high.

It’s pretty common that you’re thinking of resigning after a few months working in PBB. I started to look for other jobs during my second month there. The working culture just doesn’t suit me well la. Typical chinaman work culture, and so many red tapes that I have to face daily in order to get things done which does affect my target. What’s worse is that these red tapes weren’t there when a new female Trainee joined our branch because.. and I quote... “she a girl, so have to help her. You’re boy, no need to work so easy first. Must learn the hard way”. Yes that’s the exact sentence I heard from my Manager. What kind of mentality is that?

It’s a shame tbh because the job scope is not that bad. I’d definitely stay longer if it weren’t for the double standards in treating male and female trainees. Not to mention some of them can be pretty racist too.

Also yeah it’s pretty common for the seniors to talk behind your back. Very unprofessional.

I’m currently in one of the Big 4s doing risk advisory. Same stressful work environment but the it’s not as bad as working at PBB.
