QUOTE(KVReninem @ May 7 2008, 09:29 PM) australia living in high rise apartment is so wrong i think. Look at the ground it can cover; east and west not in balance. the city of melb grown more in the east than west. that's why planning ministry having headache right now... after geelong, ballarat..no other upcoming small satellite connect each cell. look at place like richmond; brunswick; carlton, many nearby .. if you can just create a tsunami..thats the place i wanna wipe clean and rebuild st kilda is nice..along tram line with nice trees ..damn..remind me of a movie scene in washington dc. solution; it will take ages to work..planning minister but then again, St. Kilda is also one of that lucky area, full with rich people and nice location...except the beach is so-so only... QUOTE Norsiah is ok, but it smells of oil and its quite horrible to eat there. Try having take-away and it'll be better. Nasi Lemak house is not on lygon, it is on Grattan and I don't like it there. It looks really nice, as you walk by and smell the food-but the service is not really good and I think the food is not very spectacular. If you want fantastic food, try: Lazzat, along Lygon (next to Freddos, another good gelati shop smile.gif ) Estellar in the city oh, sorry then, just got the wrong info... |

QUOTE(Cheesenium @ May 7 2008, 11:31 PM) I cant change now.Might as well stick to the one i have now. just get 768mb 8800 GTX. It's not that bad. It's just im not satisfied with the component quality. If it doesnt break down anymore,im still quite happy with it. Now,i just need a quad core with a nVidia 9-Series GC to fully utilise DX10.8600GT isnt powerful to handle DX10. QUOTE(notanon @ May 7 2008, 11:40 PM) aight, since im undecided on where to go, i have decided to apply for common engineering(it means that i decide which branch only in the 2nd year right? ) have you factor in your cost of living? for unsw, melbourne, anu, and uwa. the comments here really helped, thanks lotsa. QUOTE(powercolor @ May 8 2008, 01:40 AM) just want to know... you can but you cant smoke in quarantine zone.during at the imigration at the airport..can we bring ciggarete or lighter?? just WTA..lolx.. QUOTE(katunX @ May 8 2008, 05:21 AM) that's why planning ministry having headache right now... well; i know high rise is good to minimise the use of land; but look at the high rise they are building; hardly you can expand in future unless you bought 3 level of the apartment and convert internally.but then again, St. Kilda is also one of that lucky area, full with rich people and nice location...except the beach is so-so only... about st kilda; it dont even have a beach; it`s just lagoon. Your place in Geelong south is the real beach. This post has been edited by KVReninem: May 8 2008, 07:14 AM |

UNSW has the largest Engineering School in Australia and offer broadest range of engineering streams. In fact, it is the best choice.for unsw, melbourne, anu, and uwa. the comments here really helped, thanks lotsa. University of Melbourne is not recommended due to limited streams available after implementing the Melbourne Model. There are now only six streams available. Besides, Melbourne emphasis more on theory rather than practical. In first two years of engineering subjects, most of them are learning theory part only and the assessment mode relies heavily on final exam (written exam), at least 70%. ANU also only offers limited number of streams, common streams such as chemical, civil are not offered in ANU. UWA is not too bad, can be considered if u r choosing Perth. Monash and Adelaide are also some better options. |

My bad QUOTE(wyxyz @ May 8 2008, 10:49 AM) If you're flying from West Malaysia, MAS would probably be a good choice, though I've heard that Thai Airways sometimes give cheaper tickets.I'm taking Brunei Airlines though, BND$476 one way. |

If you don't mind transit, Thai is better in service/food (trivial matters) and price.

QUOTE(Sesshoumaru @ May 8 2008, 11:56 AM) if fly one way, the price would be Mas=rm1760 Thai=rm1490 *includes tax and fuel charge but i'm flying back to kl during the semester break. so, most probably going to buy a 6 months return ticket Mas=rm2760 Thai=2680 hmm...ya. thai airways need to stop by bangkok for 2 hours. wherelse mas straight fly to perth. am considering MAS actually, their service not up to par? |

from kl to perth theres mas..SIA n QANTAS u have to flly to singapore first.. and for those from johor or the southern region in peninsular who really wants cheap flights, tigerairways is always there..
i paid sgd200+ for my flight to perth back in march, and i just booked another flight back to perth, sgd200+ also, in july.. coming back with tiger isnt really cheap tho, about aud350 from perth to sg.. inflight food and drinks, not free - have to pay when u want.. so for those who still wants to save additional money, buy ur drinks at the airport, once you've gone thru customs/security.. |

QUOTE(notanon @ May 7 2008, 05:33 PM) ok guys, need info on unis, which are the good ones for engineering, im gonna be applying this friday for june 08 intake, right now its melb u, unsw, and anu, though i have been told that uwa is good as well. and only reason im choosing this four is because im rather ignorant about the other choices as i havent heard/read much bout them. In addition to Melbourne Uni + Monash in Melbourne, Swinburne isn't bad for engineering either.so ya, shud i consider any other universities for engineering? DO NOT go to RMIT for Engineering tho, it sucks. |
