ok guys, need info on unis, which are the good ones for engineering, im gonna be applying this friday for june 08 intake, right now its melb u, unsw, and anu, though i have been told that uwa is good as well. and only reason im choosing this four is because im rather ignorant about the other choices as i havent heard/read much bout them.
so ya, shud i consider any other universities for engineering?

QUOTE(Cheesenium @ May 9 2008, 06:02 AM) I dont know.Almost everyone give me this opinion.Besides, all my friends go to Melbourne to study.Im the only one studying here. The reason i choose UNSW because of their more practical approach in teaching, cheaper than Melbourne, they dont force me to learn economics or any non-engineering related subjects(unlike Melbourne which i hate a lot) and UNSW is better in engineering than Melbourne. but wouldnt those extra subjects help you? add on to ur degree or something? or is it a complete waste of time? btw, applied for aeronautical engineering at unsw and usyd, and chemical for melbourne today(good thing they stated that we can decided which branch of engineering we want to do later on XD )

QUOTE(SeeD @ May 9 2008, 09:20 PM) You'll thank the university for providing you manufacturing, economics and management subjects in the future sooooooo, ur saying that hardcore engineering alone isnt good and that melbournes program is better?

got the offer form unimelb and usyd, no answer from unsw yet, but since i got the first two should be able to get unsw i hope.
now all thats left is choosing where to go, and july intake is sooooo close... sigh
most probably either melb and unsw, and now, the thing is, im not keen on doing a full engineering course as im planning to do a minor in something related to finance, or some other fields, so that i';d be able to do a master in something else besides engineering.
based on that, which would be a better option? or should i rehtink my decision of not wanting to do an engineering only course?

is the melbourne model an accredited course? becauseaccording to the lady who was at the melb booth during idp open day(she was from idp, not from melb btw) it isnt. so i applied for the 4 yr bachelor of engineering course(the safer choice i assumed) opting to continue with my masters separately. then i read a booklet on melbournes engineering course structure, and for the malbourne model, the bachelor of engineering didnt mention anything about being accredited but the masters section had the words (accredited). so is it safe to follow the melbourne model? im afraid of what would happen if it didnt get accredited by the time i graduate
