i like it this way. better. when i use my maybank visa platinum, the writing is so big it attracts unnecessary attention. what for? and hsbc's platinum is black colour. nice!

Added on March 17, 2008, 10:37 am

please explain.

UOB visa platinum is more simple.. black and only platinum word.. I think hsbc is the only platinum card without the diamond shining color... except the UOB ONE plat card tongue.gif why so low class make the card.. I thought u guys say hsbc very high class ? hmm.gif

requirement is rm150k, lower cant apply ?

HSBC platinum is not low class... those who can afford it don't need to show off their platinum card lah. You think like Mr Bean meh ?

Yup ... agree with ya. Don't need to show off the Platinum status unnecessarily and people do know it's a HSBC Platinum card although how small the Platinum word is written. Simplicity, unique and humility I would describe the design of the card. It's always better to keep a low profile and be humble about it.

And ..... the UOB ONE is not a Platinum card.

Finally my Maybank Petronas is approved! rclxm9.gif The CS told me that the card will send to my addr, but i dont recall that they have this option in the application form. and the staff that handle my application also said must collect from branch. shocking.gif Anyway, I told them to send it to the nearest  branch. biggrin.gif

Going to call the CIMB later regarding the flexi payment. hmm.gif
*
If you don't specify it, they'll send it to your mailing address.

hsbc platinum has elegance in its simplicity. if you notice foreign banks like hsbc and citibank, their platinum cards are quite simple. hsbc's platinum card before they relaunch the whole new design last year looks exactly like the classic card with only the writing PLATINUM below the hsbc writing. like others said, you dont need to showoff if you have it. looking at the black colour of the card tells a lot. i dislike those cards with very big P on it. very flashy and distasteful.

Sounds like you have a few cards on hand.

If all the Platinum card holders here hold true to their humble thoughts, it might be a bit of a problem to share their experience as it means they would have to reveal their identities as a Platinum card holder. icon_question.gif

i plan to get CC for petrol as main expenses...

anyone can suggest me which 1 better?
between maybank petronas/ standard chacted bhp / citibank shell?
how the comparison between these card?
*
I use Mobil/Esso.

Get Amex. You get 2x CC points forever and 1x-1.5x Smiles points (depending on promotion)

Using Visa/Mastercard, you don't get any CC points (except during promotion period), just 1x-1.5x Smiles points (depending on promotion)

the credit depends very subjectively on the below:-
1. payment history
2. salary
3. investment you have with the bank
4. number of cards with the bank
5. card type (gold,silver,platinum)
6. bank policy (e.g. increase after years with the bank)

there may be more reasons...

generally platinum limit is above 50k as far as im concerned. but i know a few people who have limits in the region of rm 200,000. but with banks lowering the income requirement for plat cards, i wont be surprised if there are plat cards these days with limits as low as RM 20,000.

way of marketing... I give u a higher status card for a credit of a lower status card, so I can charge you higher status annual fee...
