I have been using citibank since 2 years plus. I never receive any letter/statement from them. Why?

Cause I've enable online e-Statement. It will not deliver any paper statement or promo

having a high credit limit can be very dangerous. As I know, Citibank don't give high credit limit because they dun want to get customers into credit risk
*
My boss's Citibank credit limit is RM50k

I think credit card companies are willing to give high credit limit, if your income is high and your monthly usage requires high credit limit

My boss's Citibank points is now around 800k+

I have asked around my friend earn only around 2k but bank automatic upgrade his card to gold.. so I am thinking will they also auto upgrade to platinum after you  have gold.

buy 1 free 1 not for all ticket ?
*
QUOTE(babylabbit @ Mar 5 2008, 12:02 PM)
platinum not so easy upgrade unless your gold card got certain high credit limit tongue.gif

what the point get platinum tongue.gif .......the higher the credit limit ...u can pay or not.....not to say u cincai swipe...

n kena stolen and swipe u are liable to pay.... unless u report faster than they can use it tongue.gif
*
Gold is too common these days. I have colleagues earning around RM2,500 having gold.

At this moment, Platinum's requirement is higher and banks have not simply auto upgrade people with it yet, which makes it exclusive

Some banks do auto upgrade Gold to Platinum, provided the Gold's credit limit reaches RM30k and above (got this info from credit card salesperson)

To have something (platinum) that not everyone has is of course better mar. To be frank, it sure feels good a bit when you swipe and flash it among your relatives/friends. tongue.gif It also can be served as a milestone to where you are financially (income making wise cause you need at least RM80k and above to get it the usual way)

But if you talk about benefits, frankly Platinum not much diff la

To me, the promos for Platinum is suited for Platinum users. So as for other cards.

For example,
Platinum Card - 20% discount at Lafite (Shangri-La), 10% discount for 18-hole game in Hyatt
Gold Card - 20% discount at Tony Romas, 10% discount for Bukit Tinggi
Classic Card - 20% discount at McD, 10% discount for Sunway Lagoon
** Note - these are just examples, not real promo **

So what's the use of a person who's earning RM30K/PA having benefits of Platinum Card? Might as well get Gold or Classic.
*
Should it be something like the below?

Classic Card - 20% discount at McD, 10% discount for Sunway Lagoon

Gold Card - 20% discount at Tony Romas, 10% discount for Bukit Tinggi, 20% discount at McD, 10% discount for Sunway Lagoon

Platinum Card - 20% discount at Lafite (Shangri-La), 10% discount for 18-hole game in Hyatt, 20% discount at Tony Romas, 10% discount for Bukit Tinggi, 20% discount at McD, 10% discount for Sunway Lagoon

** Note - these are just examples, not real promo **

Nowadays most bank min requirements for Plat is going down to RM80k pa, so is RM6,666 per month salary. They should have remain it to RM120k pa. Now more and more easier to get plat (income requirement wise)

totally agree....

One question I have on Platinum Card holders

Will Platinum cardholders enjoy same discount/rebate as Classic/Gold carholders + additional exclusive offers, right ?

Added on March 7, 2008, 8:58 am

Just apply and tell us if it's easy to obtain a UOB platinum card.

Added on March 7, 2008, 8:59 am

that's a very huge coverage to pay RM10,000 per year for insurance premiums smile.gif

Have to pay for standard chartered plat card is it ? by the way, how to get credit limit rm20k ? any requirements?
*
That day when i was at car wash, there was a credit card booth. The salesman promoting Citibank, HSBC and Standard at one go

He said Standard Plat Free for life with 0 condition.

Credit Limit 20k?
1) use your credit card for many years. the bank will progressively increase your credit limit
2) find a higher earning job lor

Nowadays our generation would be able to get Plat. It's only a matter of time / age

That info is from the same sales man that told me standard chart plat is free for life

So my guess his info is wrong, and he is desperate to get people to sign up only
