That's a pretty decent price for an overclocked Geforce 8800GT.

I got mine when it first came out for RM880, Zotac slightly pre-overclocked one.

If you are going to change the heatsink anyway. Might as well get a Geforce 8800GTS, this is because buying a 3rd party cooler would set u back about RM200 plus.

i second that, oc-ed my gts 512 to 702/1987, the max temp after long hr gameplay is 70C @ 60% fan spd (game is cm:dirt)

I remember one particular brand for Geforce 8800GT where they use similar cooler with the Geforce 8800GTS one.

Have anyone heard of this?

I understand there are some Geforce 8800GT brands have custom cooler, for example, Palit, Asus TOP and I think Gigabyte too, they use the old Zalman cooler if not mistaken.

I think both the Palit and Asus with custom coolers are definitely better than the reference cooler.

Better cooling could increase OC ability with lower temperature. Nice to see it's coming back to senses with good cooling for high end cards.

Attached Image Thundermatch = Lowyat Plaza = 8800GT Palit Sonic edition (same company which produces the Expertvision 8800GT Sonic)

RM825 (core 650/mem 1900/shader ???)

Lowyat plaza = 8800GT Colorful (same design as Palit sonic edition)

Anyways the moral of the story is,...share good tips and good prices if you know where to get,...a lot of malaysian very kiasu,..wanna keep good info for themself and make a fast buck out of it,..dammned suxx,...ALSO learn to GOOGL your answers and dont expect it to be spoonfed,...

Online pricelists are not the latest up to date as actually walking into the shop,..remember that,..

Sri Computer = Lowyat Plaza = Enermax 460 watts FMA II Dxx version (i am currently using : see my sig. ) use to be selling at rm265 now RM199.00

ALL IT = Low yat Plaza = Enermax Tomahawk 500 watts (newest edition : color blue) selling now rm299,...

Of course the BEST BANG for your buck is the Enermax FMA II (also know incorrectly in lowyat pricelists as "iron man" Iron " etc,....

also with casing door open,..a normal stand fan shooting in,...and the fan on the 8800gt colorful spinning at 60%:

idle : 45 celcius

Load : 50 celcius

idle : <45C
load: <65C

that would be considered good enough.

hmm good 1...and do remember if you go to the shop, you can bargain lower down the price somemore, which if you buy online cheap 10-20 ringgit then shop but fix price, while at shop some time discount up to rm100-200 depend on item....
but such as lazy ass like me what to do,i want to buy,i call seller ask the seller send directly to me..at my house....lol..
at least paying less then market price for rm 10-20 but save you the time to go n get it yourself...lazy bump like me...
i always find a buyer who can cod only..
