I think TM made a configuration mistake with Cloudflare as well.
They should advertise all their prefix towards their Cloudflare PNI but from the traceroute, I suspect they didn't.
They also didn't perform RPKI check on the router that peer with Cloudflare.

Terrible performance with packet loss:

IPv4:
CODE

traceroute -4 speed.cloudflare.com
traceroute to speed.cloudflare.com (172.66.0.218), 30 hops max, 60 byte packets

2  115.134.191.254 (115.134.191.254)  5.799 ms  5.797 ms  5.810 ms

traceroute speed.cloudflare.com

You can clearly see a huge asymmetric which should not happen in a PNI
CODE

tracepath -p 443 -6 speed.cloudflare.com
1?: [LOCALHOST]                        0.007ms pmtu 1500

Same example using AWS and you can see the asymmetric is less than TM

As long as no voltage buck or boost involved, then there is no efficiency issue. (But the voltage will drop time by time)
12vx7ah= 84w
Normally the device will use around 5-8w per hours.
So in best circumstances, you would be able to power GN630V only with around 8hours. (Under 20% battery level better don't use)
If you didn't have a Low Voltage Protection Module, you will damage the battery if the battery over discharge under 9.X v-10v.
And the battery self-discharge over a period of time.(Around 3-6 months need a standard recharge)

Maxis uses Unifi port for last mile connection. All your internet traffick will still go through Maxis own routing.

All these contracts are anti-consumer. They give you crappy routers and tie you for 2 years.

When HSBB first started they need to recoup the cost of building the ODN. Even that is funded by tax payers.
It's not like when your switch telco, you use a different ODN. It's the same one from TM regardless of who you choose.

In Australia their NBN has no contract if you buy your own hardware.

In Malaysia, if they allow this, how can they want to forecast their earning performance? Our user base is so small. The cost to supply and set up are not cheap.

Australia population is slightly less than 30 million. So their population is smaller than Malaysia but their land mass is many times larger.

Australia is also a no man land where transit cost is very high. Malaysia is just next to Singapore, where all submarine cable converge. Look at how many telco here connect to Singapore. It's cheap.

NBN is 100% Nokia gear, from DWDM to OLT to ONU. Panels are all Corning. What do we use again?

Think about it, today you sign up for Maxis, 2 months later you try CelcomDigi, TM is still providing the last mile and indirectly you are still paying them.

Another analogy. Mobile telco don't have contract and you can jump ship anytime. They are cheaper than fiber, yet none of them have forecast or revenue problem. In fact they all look pretty rich to me.

Hi, I wonder how did you sign up the postpaid?
Did you need to pay any upfront for deposit?
Did you receive the sim card on the spot?
*
Yes, I did sign up to the postpaid and paid RM 39.
I received the sim card on the spot.
Tmr, the contractor will install a new router.
Once the order is completed, I'll make a request to cancel the postpaid plan. I read at Unifi Mobile thread that it is possible to cancel and get refund.

This the reason I prefer termination method. No unnecessary bundles and hassle to cancel later.

every method has pros and cons.

- Termination method need to wait for the call which can take weeks.
- Need to be available to take the call, which can be tough if you're in a meeting or need to be in location where handphone is not allowed (example: chemical factory site).
- The time taken for the call to happen is also a financial loss if you are currently paying for a more expensive plan as changing plan at TM point is faster and you will opt into cheaper plan faster.

I chose the TM point as it is less hassle for me and I can take the actions to cancel the postpaid plan at my convenience, rather than waiting for someone else to call me.

I was curious because the tmpoint I visited required me to sign up for a postpaid plan and also provide a transfer ID.
Then the lady taught me to go to apply any other ISP and get the transfer ID.
She asked me to whatsapp her the transfer ID and she'll settle it for me.

After I applied Maxis fiber and sent her the transfer ID.
Then coincidentally I received a call from TM HQ offering me the SWU5.0 and I accepted.
Few days later the lady from tmpoint whatsapp me and said she noticed I already get the SWU5.0 and I haven't apply the postpaid plan.
But since I didn't pay the RM39 and receive any sim card, so I rejected.
I'm a bit scare if she registered the postpaid plan secretly without my knowledge or what.

I checked my unifi selftcare portal, there's nothing other than unifi fiber and disney+ hotstar.
How to view the postpaid plan detail? Will it appear in unifi selfcare portal?

She needs to get your thumprint to proceed with the subscription of the postpaid plan. You will also receive an email from unifi mobile with the bill.
If you want to be extra certain, can just check in live chat but i am fairly if you didn't get any email, she didn't sign up the plan for you.

No worries. There is no right or wrong. Most importantly you get what you want as end result. As I stated my reasons, I prefer sit and wait than drive to TM point, subscribe to something I don't need then request cancel later.
