Yes DoH + HTTP/3 is the bare minimum to at least counter some of these government "project".

I still have my full blown anti-censorship system online and standby. Just need to pay AWS for IPv4 address and I'm good to go.

I don't feel surprise too. It's expected.
They'll never give up to control everything.

Surfing the internet without a VPN is like running naked on street.

Then, the next day, I found the termination option using the same portal but on mobile browser.

How did you find the termination option using the same portal but on mobile browser?
My self care portal looks like this for more than a year since TM upgrade their system last time.

After I select the Moving Home, it shows error like this.

Anyone terminate account through live chat and yet can get RM90 500Mbps successfully?
I can't take the risk they terminate my account directly without offering me the SWU 5.0 package...

Disable adblock or any DNS that has this functionality.

You're right. Pi-hole is blocking it. sweat.gif

I use myunifi app not mobile browser. It will directly to ur account. Not to dashboard as ur above if using browser. I already mentioned myunifi app not visit selfcare page using browser.
*
It was the myunifi app. I just forgot to turn off dns blocking. tongue.gif
QUOTE(chunhoecch @ Aug 5 2025, 10:58 PM)
I tapped the orange button with the subscription package, then it leads me to this page: https://selfcare.unifi.com.my/service

Try on the mobile browser. I can't reproduce it on desktop browser.
*
Please come back and report once they call you back and offering the package.
Hope they'll not terminate your account without any confirmation.

If anyone here don't want crippling performance, just stick to Google DNS. Every night your DNS getting cripplied by congestion is no fun.

Looking at your trace, I think you might be the first documented case of last mile congestion.

Since you said upload speed is okay, this aligned with the usage pattern during the evening where people mostly just consume content aka download.

You can easily monitor this because it will be a daily occurrence.

There's nothing you can do to fix this. There's probably nothing a TM staff attending your case can do either.

The solution to last mile congestion is XGSPON / 25GPON / 50GPON and a faster ring network. But according to all the MBA in TM, we don't want fast internet.
*
I'm sick of this.. every night congestion..
Obviously they don't wanna fix the issue.

My unifi contract just ended. Will switching to other ISP better?
Time doesn’t have coverage in my area, but Allo does. So which ISP is better than unifi?

If your place have Allo, can give it a try. Reason is, I don't know what kind of congestion you are having. TM have congestion from last mile all the way to the international gateway.

With Allo, it is totally different network from last mile all the way to international gateway, so you cannot possibly hit the same congestion issue.

With other telco on TM infra, you will have the CoS problem with OLT port too. This is where TM only have 2.5gig of bandwidth per port to sell. What they then do is have a Class of Service so higher speed tier get more priority. So if you subscribe to shit tier like 30mbps or 100mbps, you are gonna get throttled badly at the port level itself. If you are like me at top tier 2Gbps, I basically cut queue and have priority access. This is how TM offer their Unifi Ultra plan. The marketing material says they are selling the speed. In reality, they are selling priority service. The port is 2.5gig for many houses to share.

EDIT:
I did follow along in Allo thread just reading stuff but never bother replying. From what I try to understand based on people's description, most of the network downtime is at the ODN / OLT, which is totally different and isolated for different places.

I also suspect it is just one or 2 uplink from the OLT. They might not use a ring network like TM.
Reason being, if they use a ring network, they should have really high uptime.

But all these doesn't matter as long as they don't oversell capacity. Plus they are cheap. When it goes down just stick to your mobile data. I don't believe they are so horrible to go down once a month.
*
OMG, I didn't know they lower the low tier speed priority, i thought all fiber optic should be same.
I'm just looking at Allo and Maxis, not sure they are better than unifi or not.
There are lesser people talking about them in lowyat though... hmm.gif

This is not the worst, based on my testing on CGNAT, most IP address has been abusing for brute force attack, many services including Microsoft account, are blocking Malaysia IP to login.
(Aliyun also observed, what's made it worst? SMS is blocked by MCMC, as abuse of SCAM disallow them to SMS customer as TAC code!!! Now only phone call is allowed...)
I wonder when next year, GTA6 released, will we faced again the rockstar's socialclub issues again or not. laugh.gif

SocialClub.rockstargames.com is blocked?, problem is still there for TM Unifi user

Based on my Testing, 175.141.x.x, 180.x.x.x and 60.x.x.x all can get blocked by services for login now, if they doing well, all you need to be facing will be 2FA via phone call only. icon_rolleyes.gif
---
First time login la, if u got cookies proof you are trust client, some of them will open for login, unless you got blocked at the edge server.

No wonder I keep failing to register new account on JD.com.
It keep asking for sms verification or what, but i never receive the sms.
I gave up then.

I submitted on 11 Aug and received call on 3 Sept but my mom missed the call. What can i do for them to call again?

Can i transfer the ownership from my mom to myself and then request termination again so they will call my phone instead of my mom's phone?

I confirmed that the phone number you entered during request for termination is just a joke. They will call the original phone number when user signed up for unifi account. Also NOT the phone number in myunifi app or porter. Coz I have updated both to my phone number yet they called the original registered number which was my mom's phone number. I'm frustrated...

Thanks, I'll try this way.

Btw i just did some research and seems like transfer ownership will trigger another 24 months new contract.
So i can't transfer ownership before getting the swu5.0.. (sigh)

I went to TM Point to ask for SWU package with 2.5 months left in my current contract. I am using 100 mbps at RM89/month. She acted that she don't know and tried to re-engage the contract with the same price.

Only when I pushed SWU 5.0 for 100 mbps at RM79 with 6 months rebate and Disney Plus, she said can but need to subscribe for Unifi Postpaid at RM39 per month but can cancel after the first month. I tried to get it waived but she is very insistent that it is compulsory.

The 24-month contract can start immediately while the old contract can be terminated without penalty.

Hi, I wonder how did you sign up the postpaid?
Did you need to pay any upfront for deposit?
Did you receive the sim card on the spot?

Yes, I did sign up to the postpaid and paid RM 39.
I received the sim card on the spot.
Tmr, the contractor will install a new router.
Once the order is completed, I'll make a request to cancel the postpaid plan. I read at Unifi Mobile thread that it is possible to cancel and get refund.
too long. wait for next year

I was curious because the tmpoint I visited required me to sign up for a postpaid plan and also provide a transfer ID.
Then the lady taught me to go to apply any other ISP and get the transfer ID.
She asked me to whatsapp her the transfer ID and she'll settle it for me.

After I applied Maxis fiber and sent her the transfer ID.
Then coincidentally I received a call from TM HQ offering me the SWU5.0 and I accepted.
Few days later the lady from tmpoint whatsapp me and said she noticed I already get the SWU5.0 and I haven't apply the postpaid plan.
But since I didn't pay the RM39 and receive any sim card, so I rejected.
I'm a bit scare if she registered the postpaid plan secretly without my knowledge or what.

I checked my unifi selftcare portal, there's nothing other than unifi fiber and disney+ hotstar.
How to view the postpaid plan detail? Will it appear in unifi selfcare portal?

She needs to get your thumprint to proceed with the subscription of the postpaid plan. You will also receive an email from unifi mobile with the bill.
If you want to be extra certain, can just check in live chat but i am fairly if you didn't get any email, she didn't sign up the plan for you.
*
She did get thumbprint coz I wanted to update contact details during that time.
But I can't see the screen so I didn't know what else she did.
Yeah, I don't receive any email regarding the postpaid.

So we can confirm the tmpoint method require to sign up the postpaid plan.
It's just inconsistent your case doesn't require transfer ID but mine required.

Then I suspect the state government or local council might has made things easier at certain places.

In other country, there are council or state government owned channel / duct / pole that infrastructure builder can use with permission.
It is very different here where such facilities are owned by private entity like TM. So they can cockblock you.
Yet another reason why rollout of competing provider is slow.

Sign up for VPN or setup your own using a VPS outside Malaysia.
Big brother gonna minta IC soon.

Treat it as cost of using the Internet already.
You might even consider Starlink just in case they go full on Afghanistan and potong kabel.
*

Yup. At least we can access Starlink.
I have a friend living in a place where Starlink is not officially available.

You just showed us the effect of censorship.
The mere thought of upsetting big brother dissuade you from doing it, even if you are just reporting fact.
Plus, the Internet here is still open, unlike China.

Permanent suspension of DNS redirection to local DNS servers

Interestingly, the agreement also touches on the controversial DNS redirection that was conducted quietly by the MCMC in 2024. As part of the agreement, Malaysia shall repeal or permanently suspend the directive of redirecting all DNS traffic to local DNS service.

Interesting. Big brothers have eyes on Fahmi. rclxs0.gif
