QUOTE(zero12 @ Apr 23 2025, 03:46 PM) Hi everyone, I have a question regarding second router. More than can, wired or wireless mesh. Mine Fiberhome SR1041F sub-router for DPN-FX3060, sometimes for Fiberhome HG6145F3. Use Fiberhome app for easiest mesh configuration.I've moved to a new home and relocated my unifi. The house is 2 storey and the wifi coverage upstairs is bad. My phone is disconnected from wifi (2.4hz) most of the time. My budget is cheapest as possible since i only need the internet for social media browsing. I am thinking to buy a secondhand router (Fiberhome AX1800, similar like current router) for upstairs since the connection point is provided by the developer. Is this method valid? since i saw some postings on Carousell saying that the fiberhome cannot be as second router. ![]() This post has been edited by hsbb: Apr 23 2025, 04:58 PM zero12 liked this post

OK. So WU 5.0 is:
1. 100mbps = RM79 - 6 month free bill - 12 month free disney hotstar. 2. 300mbps - RM99 - 6 month free bill - 6 month free disney but after 24 month contract, speed revert to 100mbps. 3. 300mbps - RM119 - 6 month free bill - 6 month free disney and speed maintain after 24 month. 4. 500mbps - RM139 - 6 month free bill - 6 month free disney and speed maintain after 24 month. QUOTE(emilyngsc @ Apr 25 2025, 10:09 PM) I have experimented with v2.02, v2.03, & v2.06 and have discovered that only 2.4GHz can achieve less than 150Mbps, but v2.06 5GHz can achieve 1Gbps on my iPhone 16PM. I am confused as to why the download speed of 2.4GHz is slow. My phone wifi 5 get ±150Mbps when using 2.4Ghz.![]() ** U should try with non iphone also or laptop. QUOTE(syahpian @ May 10 2025, 09:20 PM) yup2, that what im doing now, Disable max payload in pppoe config if using cisco. I mean untagged the vlan 500 or disable MRRU if enabled by default. I'm not familiar with mikrotik however.like what you say, there must be other problem regarding dlink bridge mode, if we not report it, i dont think TM gonna fix it it not just about that extra 100Mbps, since all of my machine only have 1Gbps port, it just to make TM aware of the issue so they can fix it what if this old onu suddenly die, terpaksa juga use that dlink combo lol syahpian liked this post

QUOTE(Anime4000 @ May 12 2025, 06:37 PM) soonwai tng55 syahpian Are u using unifi biz bro?So, not only me facing this issue ![]() Since TM use VRRP + VXLAN to handle Load Balance PPPoE-AC, it added overhead cause PPPoE MTU fail to nego at 1492, hell even RFC4638 make PPPoE 1500 MTU didn't work... TIME also use VRRP + VXLAN, facing same issue: ![]() So, all Huawei BRAS will have this issue!!! Source: Mikrotik Forum Looking back before Unifi using VRRP, I can use PPPoE MTU 1500 bytes with PON Stick (PON MTU 2000) My friend live in JB that still on dedicated BRAS, no stupid VRRP, enjoying PPPoE at 1500bytes MTU: ![]() I ask my friend to run MTU Route, it's really pure 1500 bytes MTU: ![]() tldr, anyone on VRRP, will adjusts its MTU to 1480 in disappointment. VRRP and VXLAN add another overhead, ISP didn't consider this... I even make a report to MCMC about this, Huawei Vendor says to MCMC this is normal So, I see VRRP and VXLAN is bad technology, didn't consider PPPoE RFC4638 I little bit curious why ur JB friend dialed to TM Ipoh juniper imse01.tsk_tp.re0 where the pppoe client supposed to dial imse01.jhb_*.re0 .. I never doubt if Cameron Highland users dialed to imse01.tsk_tp.re0 🤔 This post has been edited by hsbb: May 13 2025, 09:46 AM |
