Last time when I was outstationing in KL, using TIME and Unifi
Which one is terrible browsing websites in China
The other...is constantly bad
I ended up VPN back to my home's Maxis which solved ALL the issues
Still have 18 months of contract to go, this is going to be painful

How did you do it though?

Paid extra for public IP at home, setup Wireguard in AX88U
VPN back, that's it
Limited to 100Mbps which is my upload speed, still better than getting 1kB/s with 40% packet loss

Do you have anything for me to read about this? Sounds nice. Not sure my Asus router works or not.

TM to Cloudflare routing boom...Thats why you guys feel like internet is slow, nowadays 1/2 - 1/3 of popular site is hosted with Cloudflare CDN.

The problem is more complicated than that.
TM do not have enough capacity on their International Gateway. They have been dancing with this by using BGP to try and load balance traffic across different circuit.
Whenever Cloudflare reroute KUL traffic, their PNI is rendered useless and suddenly all those traffic flows through their IGW.
It's a congestion problem.
Everything in TM needs an upgrade.
Even their ring network do not have enough capacity in more and more places.

You all can try.
But I can tell you the government is having it easy with TM as they contribute quite a lot of money to the Budget.
Now with Petronas money drying up, all these companies are even more important to keep the Budget going.

It's in the government interest that TM do not spend any more money but continue to milk you more.

Enable IPV6 for Unifi, their IPV6 routing to China is a lot better than their IPV4

Not perfect but it helps

Because when JohnLai came and offered this advice, it's generic and as good as useless. It's like oh you are sick, drink more water.
Nobody even ask what website is faster or anything. Nobody think any deeper.

For very specific use case like controld and nextdns, it helps.

Blacktubi is also very specific, China routing. Is it all China routing? No. He made it clear.

You must try and error and experience it yourself whether enabling or disabling IPV6 can cover your needs.

Went to TMpoint on 19 September 2025, they just took my thumb print and said pending to send application for SWU 5.0 RM90 500Mbps.
My current 2 years contract ending October 2025.
Woke up this morning, received SMS on free Disney+ Hotstar for 1 year.
So quickly login my unifi app, now it reflects on SWU 5.0 RM90 500Mbps plan.

In extremely generic and logical term, you must experiment by yourself and validate if either one fits and solves your requirement. Both forumers expressed their opinions and specificity on niche issue.

The board basically is a dc automatic relay switch but not a voltage regulator. The output voltage is equal to input1 or nput2 voltage but both inputs must be in same voltage (dc) because at the same time input 1 will charge input2. For me the purpose not specifically for CPE (ONU/ONR/modem/router) but any devices which powered by 12Vdc.

I cut old router 12V/2A adapter into 2. The adapter part as an input, the rest as an output. U can search the board in shopee/lazada automatic power switch module. The real backup UPS use same concept, the difference only it have inverter module to convert Vdc to 240Vac.

Btw can buy this.

Maybe is this one blush.gif
Can charge and auto-trigger-backup

another circuit brd is only trigger backup with blackout.
meaning will not charge battery (not drain battery), 100% direct use main power supply until blackout only will use battery.
