I refuse to believe they don't know. Every telco got the memo right. When I first tested Celcom, they did everything to the dot. UDP 53, all addresses, nothing else.

TM network is huge, if people there are this incompetent, I think it would have fallen apart by now. For whatever shit they pulled, ini semua kerja orang gila...

I don't want to say too much because this is not the place for it, but you understand that a large number of people in Malaysia believe wholeheartedly in moral policing.

This is part of the reason why there are many out there who counter this DNS issue on socmed with 'good lah they blocked people from consuming prawn,' or the earlier '3rd party DNS = golongan penjenayah.'

So if the one who ordered this in TM knew, they went into this fully believing they were correct. They probably still do believe they are correct in going that far, just that it might not have been worth the damage done.

apologies fellow seniors, been following the thread, but still having issues on understanding the best way to navigate this, please do enlighten me if im wrong yah,

used cloudflare dns, can access dns.google & tested prawn hub does load, one jp website always returns with 403
removed cloudflare dns, can access dns.google & test prawn hub doesn't load, one jp website always return with 403,

if this the case, am i being blocked or not?

not too sure on what would be best option for me, as my mother loves to watch hokkien drama from TW, tested alot paid vpn don't really work, except PIA, so subscribed, and also saw alot seniors here recommending paid dns, so not too sure which option is the best for my family,

will cont subscribing pia in long term to get cheaper discount and applied it across on router settings will be a better options? or focus on paid dns solution will be a better bet?

apologies, if these has been answered before, part of aging, felt tech these days are very hard to catchup.
*
All the DNS stuff, currently paused since like Friday night, so, things are ok for now

If you are blocked, you can't use cloudflare DNS, and can't access Google DNS either
JP website is unrelated, 403 means website blocked you

Paid DNS has a chance of being blocked too
VPN has more overhead, cost wise and also tunneling all your traffic through it may have a speed and latency penalty

But, it will less likely be blocked
Since you are already paying for it and are using it, you can just continue to use it and it will bypass all these problems, for now.

Router that supports VPN, look into ones that support Wireguard VPN protocol, GL-iNET has some good ones, some Asus models support it as well

They are not from the industry and yet speaking as if they are sane. This will do only more harm than good. Why are they "legalizing" cyber attack? shakehead.gif

The way moving forward is always user education, not the "protective barrier" imposed by someone who clearly didn't think of the hefty consequences as demonstrated in the past few days.

not surprised if the venue is empty, they told their staffs to buy most of the ticket to prevent the public from getting it.

You know TM Walled Garden?

Apparently it just a like a LAN!

one Walled Peer with working internet (two pppoe) hosting a VPN
user posted image

You can escape Walled Garden rclxm9.gif

In Mikrotik, you can do this, bind on VLAN500 as usual, disable default route (make sure your main PPPoE distance is 5)
user posted image

Because no default route on pppoe-out2, need add LAN style route

done, we have own private network inside walled garden that works across different PPPoE AC, but must same state

Plain DNS Server inside Walled Garden:
Seremban
172.24.192.16
172.24.192.73
172.24.193.138
172.24.193.213

Klang
172.24.193.42
172.24.192.73

Cyberjaya

Like father of the Great Firewall is it? Whole China hates him, except The Pooh bear.
There cannot be that many of them in TM right? If I am in TM I make sure he end up in guni sack.

Those post are highly repetitive and I suspect they are from the propaganda machine.
Sane people will know once censorship is in place, everyone can only hear one narrative.

Anime4000, which VLAN number is this?

Sadly, news of the DNS redirection has not sat well with the general public, with many accusing MCMC and the government of trying to increase its level of censorship and, in the defense of the people, their fear isn’t unfounded.

Doubt it. Vast majority oblivious or don't care?

Hi! I created this petition and will be heading for the Monday meeting. I’m just thinking about this, but given that this is something with such huge national impact, can it be argued that this is something that should be debated on a national scale, for example in parliament?

The government can counter that MCMC has a mandate under CMA 1998 to perform internet restrictions and say that it’s ’protecting’ people say - but are there any other arguments that should be brought to bear?

If necessary, I will get personal friends in politics (ie not a random call YB situation) to raise this issue as well.

To them, they believe they ARE sane. So yeah.

And yes, definitely agree that awareness is key. Might not get immediate results but at least you don't open the door for people to bring us down to China level internet in the future.

This one talk only.

You've seen PH where most if not all their members when in opposition were strongly against increased censorship. Now suddenly most of them not saying or doing shit against this.

Just log in and say, don't overdone it, thanks.

I already discovered about it 5 years ago, and I guess this is the official allowance for allowing you to login into UniFi Portal and pay your bill, not keeping your account unpaid and abuse it.

Just, don't, we are not cheater.

Sharing between your private friends for knowledge sharing is great, this helps to deal with case of building a walled garden more prefect.
But using and sharing it out for abuse?

No, thanks.

transparent proxy means you do it without people noticing.
this is traight up hijacking.

so it means TM went beyond when MCMC say it wants "transparent proxy",
or MCMC bodoh don't know difference between "transparent" and straight -up hijacking.

bboth bodo.
