Because you know, you can only see wallgarden page when you are using default DNS provided by ISP, not 8.8.8.8.
When everyone is not using default DNS, then it is kind of useless.

And after this event, you can see how DNS can get overloaded and bam, which showing not much skill people are putting effort on this kind of stuff.

I also hardly setup secure DNS/DoH/DoT on my smartphone, because too many WiFi wall garden don't follow iOS/Android guideline. always had to wonder why no login page jumping out, lol.

Yes, I agree on using something 1112 to block malware by default, then give a event, like another free speed upgrade or free RM 10 discount.

Those setup their own parent control via DNS get a little benefit, I am sure, this suit the Malaysian most, everyone gonna grab it by learning how to setup a parent control.
Even it don't, as least by default malware is blocked.

Only way to fix this to destroy Walled Garden, just like old times, Everyone has smartphone and some form of basic mobile data, they can pay bill that way.

PETALING JAYA: Putrajaya has directed the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) to halt its plans to require all internet service providers (ISPs) to implement public domain name service (DNS) redirection by the end of this month.

According to Bernama, this instruction was given by communications minister Fahmi Fadzil.

There have been some complaints about the DNS redirection in recent days. Among those who complained was health think tank Galen Centre for Health and Social Policy which said the move had caused problems with access to its website.

As you guys having public IPv4, no one observed this.
During transparent DNS, CGNAT is unaffected, you can still use 8888 or 1111, but the TM DNS server still overloaded from those 300M+ customer at night.

So, if TM really enabled for CGNAT IPv4 only users....
I don't really think TM got that budget...

(Yes, only IPv6 DNS blocked for CGNAT user, IPv4 only CGNAT user left with ADSL customer only, unsure how much users it is.)
