I don't think so. TM way of blocking created a lot of collateral damage.
MCMC now wash hands and say they never tell TM to do BGP hijacking.
I don't know is it TM act smart or MCMC hang them out.

I think TM did  additional IP blocking, not BGP (IP) hijacking 3 days ago (= 4 Sep 2024) when TM realized DNS blocking with Transparent DNS Proxy did not block encrypted DoH and DoT traffic since early Aug 2024.

Which then begs the question: if not that many people even use 3rd party DNS to bypass blocks and most just surf mainstream sites using ISP DNS, what's wrong with leaving 3rd party ones alone? Why have to go as far as whacking DoT and DoH as well?

Some websites to be ‘quarantined’

PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) says it is planning to “quarantine” rather than block websites with only a small amount of prohibited content.

While quarantined, the websites will remain inaccessible, but access will be restored once the offence is rectified, without the need to file a formal appeal.

dey MCMCM, if you are really true to your self-declared pure-hearted intent, start with blocking Facebook.

That alone should take care very very very large percentage of scam advertisements.

Now, what if the site refuses to delete the content? Like X/Twitter for example, since there are previous examples of "we would like to inform you that the gov has requested we delete your post, we have taken no action"

Seriously, instead of having these, government should just get some generous amount of ads credit from these ads providers and start competing with scammers by having similar content with them but the link will lead to their honeypot website for user education. This is the product of spoonfeed education and people have no critical thinking, time to train them up!

yet some said tm doesn't do bgp hacking only plain dns....you'll see a lot cytro gomen claiming this on X.
