I'm starting to suspect the software used by TM for BGP optimization fucked up. Or they use it wrongly.

Now it's clear to me in order to fully utilize all their capacity, they distribute traffic equally to HK, SG, UK and MyIX.

Depending on where your traffic gets distributed, latency will go through the roof

And for others don't care about privacy issues, get yourself a WARP+ or ZeroTrust for free.
(unsure how to setup ZeroTrust, as I saw reddit mention about ZeroTrust "MIGHT" get high priority as WARP+, so just sharing it out for others to test about it la, me lazy person. ;P

So far TM do nothing to the certain IP range that based on WARP, it is still routing to KUL, so you can going via the routing of CloudFlare and enjoy full speed for free.

installed new unifi 100 mbps.

came with the 2 in 1 fiberhome onu (this is what they gave me in 2025). this the installer help set to bridge. i tested with my pfsense router, it successfully worked (in case anyone is wondering about this).

installer test first if internet work. once done, they will set to bridge (upon request. explain you want to use own router, they will know what you mean). Then connect ethernet from router wan port, to the fiberhome onu port 1.

Change your pfsense ppoe credentials, save. then in pfsense go to status > interfaces, reconnect. Should work. If not then check you typed credentials correctly.

for wifi i use my own tplink eap-773 which is way better.

time is also offered here, but i saw the unifi was cheaper and didn't care to pay for more. hope i did not make a mistake? One other advantage time has is uploads which is better. But i don't setup remote access to require remote access to self hosted homelab or network, so i hardly need that tbh. But if you do, then yeah, time would be the obvious choice (cause tmnut skimps on upload speed)

the 300 mbps doesn't cost that much more, but i don't download much these days so... even netflix 4k only need 20 mbps or so.
considered this. though i may be cheap, i too have my bottomline. Fiber better than 5g for latency for home broadband. So i rather pay a bit more
