QUOTE(choongy @ Jun 13 2024, 05:10 AM) Hi guys, I have been a Unifi user for years and I was first given a DIR 850 router. Fast forward many years, TM upgraded my 100mbps plan to a 300mbps plan for free last week. However, a speed test with my CAT6 Lan cable connected to my PC shows 100 Mb/s, and the speed test with wifi through my phone shows around 100 Mb/s as well. What should I do to get a more optimal speed? hmm, both being 100Mbps is kinda odd1. Downgrade my plan to 100mbps since I don't see the difference atm 2. Buy a wifi 6 router, but I'm not sure which to get 3. Try to request a new router from TM and refresh the 2 years contract Kindly help me out all the sifus here. Thank you very much in advance what network card is in your pc? does it say FE Ethernet or GbE Ethernet as well as what phone is it and that you are peforming tests with the 5Ghz band and not 2.4Ghz right? |

Buy a new router, that DIR 850 is not powerful enough. Can look at Tp-link AX72/AX73. 3. Check if your BTU and PC lan port is not limited to 100mbps. |

Hello, I would like to get your advice or feedback on the situation i'm facing.
For work purpose, I am required to connect to a VPN host which is based out in EU. Previously, the connectivity is decent with latency between 210ms - 240ms and traffic is routed to HK-EU. But in the last couple of months (maybe 4-5months), the traffic is routed via JP-US-EU and getting latency around 400+ms. Its going the other way and its really slow! I'ved logged a case with TM. But just wondering if anyone have a similar experience or have an idea on the whats the reason of the change in route. |

QUOTE(PRSXFENG @ Jun 13 2024, 08:35 AM) hmm, both being 100Mbps is kinda odd I've contacted TM and they came to fix immediately and said that it's router's problem. They changed the router to a new Dlink wifi 6 router and now both LAN and wifi is getting 300 Mb/s.what network card is in your pc? does it say FE Ethernet or GbE Ethernet as well as what phone is it and that you are peforming tests with the 5Ghz band and not 2.4Ghz right? My network card is GbE Ethernet My phone is iPhone 15 I was performing speed test with 5Ghz band Thanks guys for helping out! PRSXFENG liked this post

What router do unifi give for new 300 mbps 24 months contracts?
They wouldnt tell me what router it is? I'm considering both maxis and unifi at the moment. This post has been edited by captainwifi: Jun 13 2024, 02:22 PM |
