If you think you don’t need the speed of 1gbps. Better go for swu.
*
what's the current offer? i only know its swu4.0, but last i heard is that swu3.0 is a better bet.

Anyone encounter any problem with the 1Gbps speed suddenly drop below 200Mbps?

seems like its not a good thing? at least my current 800mbps is stable all along. minus the wifi that couldn't be maxed out in upper floors.

I just got the upgrade last Saturday. Got the black DLink ONR with 2.5gbe port.

Asked the technician to setup in router mode. After making sure the router is can connect to internet and working independently, I save the DLink router config setting into my PC.

Then I asked them to switch to bridge mode and connect to my much stronger existing Asus router. Then save the Dlink bridge config setting as well.
So now I use the DLink ONR as bridge but if necessary aka Asus router kaput, I can temporary switch the ONR to router mode and reload the working configuration back, so no need reconfigure the DLink ONR for direct all in one internet connection for this emergency purpose. Then once Asus router is up, switch back to bridge mode and if necessary, reload the saved working ONR bridge config setting back.

Of course if DLink ONR kaput, I can still hook back the old Huawei modem to my Asus.
Contingency plan in case either the ONR or Asus router kaput.

do u think my current ax73 is good enough and set this dlink onr as bridge? in my current setup, my upstairs room even with 2.4ghz also will cause signal lost. im not too sure whats the best way? i almost gave up on this pro upgrade and get xe75 instead.

Where is your router located? Upstairs or downstaris?
*
downstairs, no issues maxing out 800mbps on wifi through smartphones on downstairs.

apologies fellow seniors, been following the thread, but still having issues on understanding the best way to navigate this, please do enlighten me if im wrong yah,

used cloudflare dns, can access dns.google & tested prawn hub does load, one jp website always returns with 403
removed cloudflare dns, can access dns.google & test prawn hub doesn't load, one jp website always return with 403,

if this the case, am i being blocked or not?

not too sure on what would be best option for me, as my mother loves to watch hokkien drama from TW, tested alot paid vpn don't really work, except PIA, so subscribed, and also saw alot seniors here recommending paid dns, so not too sure which option is the best for my family,

will cont subscribing pia in long term to get cheaper discount and applied it across on router settings will be a better options? or focus on paid dns solution will be a better bet?

apologies, if these has been answered before, part of aging, felt tech these days are very hard to catchup.

most scariest thing ever, was initially 800mbps, then lodge complaint to skmm to get 1gbps, then received this month bill is waived but then its swu 3.0 300mbps but when doing speedtest is 500mbps, all without my consent.

Do you mean you get SWU 300Mbps but you are getting 500Mbps on speedtest?

If your account is still showing 300 Mbps SWU, then just keep quiet and be steady.

TM use a combination of HQoS profile on both OLT and BNG to cap speed.
However I noticed any of them alone have problem with accurately capping the speed, which suggest their gear is undersized or lousy to begin with.

Most likely explanation is they forget to adjust your OLT profile from 800Mbps to 300Mbps

It’s called Unifi 300Mbps - Stay With Unifi 3.0 (VAR + UPB) without my consent. The only thing I raised was skmm to upgrade to 1gbps not the other way round from 800mbps

You should complain until they update your package properly. If not you might have problem down the road. Like if there is another speed upgrade, your speed on file is still 300 and they will "upgrade" you to 500 again.

My account was updated within 2 days on the free speed upgrade
OK, I understand now. Instead of getting the free speed upgrade from 800Mbps to 1Gbps, your account is somehow re-contract to SWU 300Mbps without your consent?
Someone in TM must be doing hanky panky to hit quota. Report to MCMC till they fix it.

yes i was doing good with unifi 800 for rm210.95, till my hand itchy to lodge a complaint to skmm, then this happened.

so your speed is 500mbps, or 500mbps plan but then speed bump 800mbps for limited time or all sorts?

For SWU 3.0 300Mbps plan, the price is RM119. Most of us downgraded to 300 for cheaper price and 6 months waiver because we know it will be upgraded to 500Mbps. Paying 119 for 500Mbps is good deal. Otherwise I will be paying RM218 for 800Mbps (after free upgrade).

Yeah my old plan before all this fiasco is 210.95 for 800mbps, but seems like they re working out for me 1gbps for 169, without hypptv, used to have on legacy plans. But the only caveat is, if my port doesn’t support 1gbps, then I have to revert to my initial 800mbps plan.

finally about to get my 1gbps install tomorrow, from 800 to 500 now to 1gbps, may i know whats the best install for these? im currently using tp link ax-73 with alcatel lucent, and having drop off on my work station on upper floor at times, should i use the dlink ax3000 solely, or should i use dlink ax3000 as bridge mode and then ax73, or i ignore ax3000 completely, and use my current setup.

just done my 1gbps install, gotten the dlink, speedtest using s22u or ip15pro can get 1.4gbps, but then biggest problem i have is wifi connection, the router sits at ground floor, where i work upstairs, and the wifi connection is really bad, saw some suggestions here to use bridge or ap, so i've used my existing ax73 to be used as ap, wifi improved, but i have intention to upgrade my ax73 to something like be550/be805 or xe75 (1 pack) or be65 (1 pack), but i saw some seniors say if using these as AP, it will waste the hardware, but i just need wider & stronger wifi, and quite happy with the dlink since can achieve 1.4gbps, and bridge will just limits to 940mbps. please advise.
