no dude..
that was just one off
with the 1.49v bios

can bench
but artifacts
and cant game

it was done not inside the casing... out side. with one fm123 fan blowing infront and side of the cards..

and it wont work on crossfire..

i still find that so call ati fix bios buggy...

but what irenic said is correct
my idle temps like now at night around 38-39C.

need some advice from 3850 owner here, how was the noise level that produce by the stock 3850? wanted to get a silent system... was thinking should i go for active or passive cooling version of 3850... beside, was it very hot via stock cooling fan? I mean no OC.

None at all...noise was pretty quiete and temperature is low without any fancy cooling(stock version sapphire)...this card uses less power and ultimately generates less heat...

IMHO absolutely no point to get a commercial cooling solution if you are not going to overclock...

yup i agree coz the performance difference between 29xt and 3870 is not big enough to justify an upgrade..
on the other hand, if ure going from 29xt -> lets say 88gt or new 88gts then it's worth it because those two cards from nv sure kick both 3850 and 3870 in terms of performance, and not to mention higher overclocking headroom than their ati's counterpart... rclxms.gif

yeah, that might not be a 'noticable' upgrade lah .. but the power consumption decrease should be noticeable ..

ya...but seriously the colour of the image change oso noticeable tongue.gif erm..i dunno how 2 expain...my 1st card was 6600GT, den changed it to x1600XT...yet i x noticed tat d quality of ATI's graphic is better than NV so much (in term of colour? unsure...)...till d day i upgraded my gc to 7900gs only i noticed d image I've like got a bit weird~~In d end only i find out is d colour of d image make me feel d differences tongue.gif start from there i think i kena ATI's poison edi...swt~~currently using 3850 & satisfy wif it lor...with 19"LCD and full detail on playing NFS pro street tongue.gif my own conclusion is when d FPS 4 both NV and ATI card are above 30FPS in the game...u cant reli differentiate which is d better card (excluded those benchmark yawn.gif),so 4 me d smoothness is x noticeable...but d only thg is d image quality make me feel noticeable lor tongue.gif x:peace:x

IMO... ATi vs nVidia in terms of performance... nVidia wins, in terms of image quality, ATi... seriously...

about gameplay... ATi tries keep maintaining good image quality (IQ), unlike nVidia tried keep good gameplay frame rate... actually, it's unnoticeable until you tried both ATi and nVidia...

haha i tried both ati n nvidia, gf2mx -> radeon 9800 -> 6800gt -> x1950xt -> 88gts, for me, the IQ when i moved back and forth from ati and nvidia were unnoticeable, but what's important for me, is performance and overclockability thumbup.gif

OR is it RV680? Quite confused here. Anyway, by that time wouldn't it be more worthwhile getting the D9E or D9P?

Added on December 4, 2007, 10:51 pmBTW, anyone here have HIS' HD38x0 yet?
