I see, I did went to few shop recently to try some helmets. I did disclose to them I am cross shopping with other brands so wont be making any decision soon.
Managed to try some with hits and misses here and there.

Modular helmet looks nice but somewhat I feel more secured wearing a proper full face helmet. Not sure how to explain but I feel like something is missing wearing modular helmet even it was fully clipped on. I would assume if commuting to and fro work modular would be the better helmet since I am not doing crazy speeds. Not sure if otais here also had the same feeling? I guess some people use modular for daily while full face for weekend ride?

Wented to shop that sell both shoei and arai, somewhat both were fit-able to me but its a pity Arai does not have their pro fitting service here in Malaysia as the only annoying thing on my head is that the stock padding were in the way of my glasses temple which indirectly led most of the shop to push shoei more due to the PFS service. But unfortunately, most of them required me to fully commit to the helmet purchase before even doing the fitting service shocking.gif

I guess the only way to get arai fit is go overseas with our helmet purchased locally. That is if the shop even bother to layan us even after paying the fitting fee?

Of that few shop only one shop are quite obviously pushing me to buy on that day telling me the helmet is in limited stock due to raya peak period. Noticed that he keep trying to push me higher price helemet (plain coloured helmet vs graphic helmet) while another shop allowed me to try on those full carbon trackday style helmet shocking.gif

Need to continue sleep over it for sure.

I prefer full face helmet outright because
1. Of all styles, it gives the best protection
2. The chinbar won't have a chance of failing unlike modular

So you gotta ask yourself, someone is gonna jam something up your butt for your protection. It's either a. they jam it all the way and you get max possible protection, or b. they jam it halfway, put lube, and jam it up anyway, and you get a bit lesser than max possible protection.

I pick full face every single time. My hair is gonna be messed up anyway regardless modular or FF.

Hi everyone, had been using this helmet for 1 year and 4 months.

Recently the rubber start to peel off and it seem like it causing more wind noise.

Is it possible to get a replacement for the rubber at helmet repair shop or the dealer?

Was wondering do I need riding boots, now sudah convert from scooter to motor...then bought Falco Gordon 2 leather with goodyear welt soles.

Such nice boots, made in italy, waxed laces, comes with individual dust bag (for whatever reasons) and stiching seems to be of high quality.

paling penting, side zip, waterproof, light, comfortable for office use (CE 1221)

Need some advice on the following pants(i know its best to have those aramid ones but what if those new type textile /mesh ce rated etc etc pants?):

Most of these pants have the armors at the knee/hips

-Klim Switchback Cargo Pant.

-REV'IT! Airwave 4

-Street & Steel Mission Cargo Riding Pants

is it any better or worse than aramid lined pants? Tried to find from their website if it has aramid lining but couldn't spot them.

Just for context, im looking a pants for cruising and maybe a bit of commuting here and there. Im leaning towards cargo type since im on the overweight size and my belly's rounder than a tyre biggrin.gif

Alternatively anyone can suggest anything from komine/taichi also welcomed(asyik tgk review in utbe pon all us/europe brand).

Those pants will have CE rating. Look up the appropriate CE1 and CE2 for impact protection (usually the armour) and "A-AAA" for abrasion resistance. You probably not need to worry too much about what material it is made of as long as it performs in the CE Abrasion tests.

Safety is always a compromise between your risk aversion, cost, riding style, overall comfort and where you ride. Do note, Aramid backed pants can run hotter as with high quality thick full grain leather, which is still the best for abrasion.

Boots and gloves will be the next most important safety items after a helmet. Get those first and worry about jacket and pants, or you can make do with cheaper items if on budget constraints.

Gloves, get leather ones, with a hard plastic/carbon fibre palm slider, the larger the better. The palm slider is the most important part of the glove. Pity some manufacturers either undersize them or omit them.

Boots, if you are newer rider get at minimum a higher cut boot that is relatively stiff against lateral crushing, as for newer riders on a big bike stands higher chance of jatuh bodoh. Dropping a 200kg bike on your lower leg is no fun. A good, stiff boot, may make the difference between limping off with an ankle sprain, or stretchered out with a broken ankle.

Thanks for the tip. Ive already got the helmet, gloves and shoes. I did select the leather combi with hard material for the gloves and got the high cut boots. Went for the full face helmet since i do have fear when riding but still want to ride and enjoy riding. biggrin.gif

got a few jackets im looking too, but the pants kind of stumped me a bit since im overweight. Dont want to crush my family jewels tho by buying something very tight like a yoga pants but at the same time worried about the safety when riding.

I do.

Better pants will also have an armour pocket for the tail bone.

I'm actually using chest armour in my hip pockets since my pants have sizable pockets, so if i did use hip armour, i need to sew the pockets smaller so the armour stays in place. Easier solution is just use larger armour. On the same note, when buying pants, some of the better ones have more Velcro fasteners to adjust your armour pocket size so you can place whatever armour you buy correctly. Armour don't work if it's not placed correctly.

I wouldnt recommend them now...what a letdown, once in a 40 minute medium-light, and today in a 40 minutes light rain...CE WP rated shoes masuk air, walaupun baru oil it up.

The thoughts of going into office with dry kaki is now another dream...not to mention how quick the leather turns rustic..like vintage worn out despite being a months old...shouyld have just pakai Crocs saja...

If said leather failed, the membrane should be working, but its not. It was the same before any product was applied. So being disappointed, i tried applying specific leather products to increase leather water resistance...sama saja

Membrane failed...in house membrane High-Tex

Pakai saja la...just imagine that its a water resistant riding boots...

Seller tarak bunyi, he said its 8000mmH20 resistance, but 8000mmH20 medium rain shouldnt be an issue. How to claim warranty also no idea. The following is the pic today.
