Any examples of the quick dry mesh jacket?

My Kushitani mesh is kinda sticky when wet. A bit hard to remove and wear again. Especially when the mesh rolls up against my skin when removing. Don’t know how to explain.
*
I personally use Komine JK-158 and have no issue with sweaty skin after riding for 1+ hours or sweating under traffic jam.

When I was window shopping at Hodaka motoworld some of the RS Taichi jackets have 'quick dry' as their marketing term..
I guess something about the inner material although I'm not really sure how effective are they because when touching them jackets all the innards feel the same rclxub.gif

Went to Winmaster yesterday to take a look at some of their stuff.
Some last gen carbon helmets are on sale.
Rm 1600-1700 carbon helmets that weight 1300-1400g..
I think that's a pretty good deal.
Tested some of them, padding aren't the softest but doesn't really matter if you wear balaclava. All carbon helmets use double D strap design.
I ended up buying a spartan gt carbon for RM 1700. (Checked at shopee the cheapest is 2000)
1446g compared to my givi m35 that is 1380g and hjc i90 about 1740g

Other gears like gloves and pants are mostly sold out.. so need to wait next batch

I was eyeing on this helmet previously.  Same design.
But many reviews say that this helmet is noisy.
*
Its quieter than my modular helmet laugh.gif
Sure still got wind noise, I think thats unavoidable when riding naked bike
Don't know how other full face helmet would be quieter or not

QUOTE(vavisalai @ Dec 30 2023, 04:44 PM)
Hello to all the sifus,

I have some questions regarding riding bike gears. I am planning to ride to work everyday with a one way distance of 10km to my office. My budget is around Rm 3000 (around 862 sgd). The main thing for me is I want to separate work and leisure gears (if it’s possible two sets).

I am looking to get 2 helmets (1 for work & 1 for leisure), one riding jacket (was thinking to wear the jacket for work commute and buying those knee and elbow guard for leisure ride OR get another riding jacket if budget permits) and gloves.
* the main thing is I want to have two sets of gears

Questions are
1. Can an armoured jacket fold and stored together with a Modular helmet into a 46L top box?
2. Let say I’m getting a mesh jacket, do I still need to buy a rain jacket?
3. Is knee & elbow guard protective when I’m wearing shorts and T-shirt?
4. Should I get all the gears in Malaysia or Singapore?
5. Last but not least, any recommendations with the budget above and place to get it? (Yes I’m trying to get spoon fed by you all)
6. One more thing, Vespa 150 vs Yamaha X Max 300 vs Honda Forza 350? Leaning towards Vespa due to the brand but in reality practically comes first 🙃

Thank you.
*
I'll answer some because some others I don't have experience with

2. yes if you are getting mesh jacket then when rain need to put on rain jacket unless your mesh jacket is goretex (but price of one goretex jacket can reach 3k already laugh.gif )
3. usually riding jacket and pants already have padding on elbow and knee so you dont have to worry about it
5. some place to buy gear:
-winmaster at cheras, they sell furygan gears and shark helmets
-lsh racing world at mont kiara
-hodaka motoworld at pj
note that most stock of 2023 mostly have been sold out, so need to wait somewhere early 2024 for their new stock

Benkia isn't bad if you are on a budget, I'm using one of their pants and the padding on the knees feel not good enough. Maybe its just a matter of replacing the padding with better ones.
IMO, its better to spend a bit more money finding gear with proper CE rating

So I just had an accident this morning because of my own stupidity..
Trying to 'layan corner' at an unfamiliar road, ended up overshooting and slide into the grass sweat.gif

Looks like that corner has claimed a plenty of victim..

Thank God that all I had was minor bruises and bike was working fine even with small dent here and there.
A lot of passerby was offering help too.. I'm really moved by that gesture tbh
Still manage to ride it back home in 1 hour.

Reminder to all (and myself) to never EVER forget your gear.. and ride safely. I would've ended up losing some of my skins if not for these protection.

Some scratches and dent on the bike and helmet

You know that I said Benkia padding feels insufficient? I take that back it did help me laugh.gif

Is that the GSX-S750?
Stock rear shock is so bad enough to cause crashes
*
the rear shock isnt that bad, good enough for my weight.

this one 100% on me for riding like an idiot.

After some cleanup, doesn't look like it have been through accident..

Damn man rarely do bikes end up in that good of a condition after crashing off the road into grass. Did you try to lean more when you realized you had underestimated the corner? For cornering do you lean in or do you corner with body upright type? Glad you're ok but damn your new helmet sakit hati sial.

Change sliders and bar end weights then the bike is as good as new laugh.gif

Wonder if it's an MT09 would it had cracked the frame in this type of accident hmm.gif
*
Yes I was leaning in initially, mid corner I realize not gonna make it then trying to compensate by leaning further.. ended up lowsiding.

Leaning to the right has been my weak side also

Could've ended up worse where I'm crashing into the barrier and ended up getting launched into ladang kelapa sawit laugh.gif

Not likely to fail so easily lah. Got a few fellas lowside or target fixate into ditches, no issue rim, tank all mangled. That said, one middle eastern fella, dont know what brand sider, looked quite long, whole thing just twist, that one frame patah, so not to say its wont ever happen. Lowside and slide i think will be fine... if it flips, then i have no confidence it will stay in one piece lel.
most of the images you see circulating, for some reason the engine mounting bolt is missing, even the tracer that snapped on genting recently. it didnt sheer cause u can see the engine block side, langsung no bolt in there

back to topic, helmets with rash like that, not safe to use again kan? best to change?
*
I'm still using it laugh.gif

Felt the inner padding and didnt feel anything funny
no dent on the outer shell also, just the scratch marks

hmm.gif

I'm looking for 'chicken strip' to see how much lean angle you're using

no, it's not for bragging rights

the GT2 I asked before is made in Europe
the older GT is made in China, same as many previous Rosso models

Not sure if can really see, just got back from weekend trip also
