Just tested, blocked on U Mobile too, changing dns works (using DoH)

Maybe cause U Mobile peers with TM?

Edit: just did some tests with traceroute

With U Mobile DNS
It goes from 1.9.247.157 ™ to 175.139.142.25 ™ and just ends there being blocked.

Where as with any public dns resolver
It goes from 1.9.247.157 ™ to 104.16.110.36 (Cloudflare) and the site works.

All of you are saying using Google DNS or Cloudflare DNS works, but how come doesn't work for me?

I suspect because I only use IPV4?

I wish someone can guide how to make the Google/Cloudflare DNS work?

I doubt can ask TM people to help since TM is the one blocking....

And blocking also in half past six manner (typical of Malaysian way)!

How did you set your Google DNS?
If you set it correctly you should able to access those sites

That's the point, I cannot.

I just set it in the router settings (D Link).

And change the primary/secondary DNS as per needed.

Don't understand. I see IP addresses there which says belongs to "Prism Trans Active". And one belonging to Cloudflare (I am using Cloudflare DNS).

Is this a sign of DNS leak?

Prism Trans Active belong to TM

meaning you still using TM DNS that why you unable visit the site.

i think your primary dns is TM and secondary was Cloudflare.

try to check your dns option there isit correct input for the dns
and
try do a ipconfig /flushdns at your command prompt see whether still have this issue or not

Well, I set my Primary DNS as 1.1.1.1 and Secondary as 1.0.0.1 which is as per Cloudflare instructions.

And did this in the Router Settings.

So how come the TM still can take over my DNS?

Try to flush your dns cachewith the command suggested by @heLL_bOy previously. I don't use Windows so am not 100% certain if this is the method, but I think you go to the Start menu and find "Run". Click on it, and in the box that appears type "cmd" (without quotes). then in the black terminal that appears, enter "ipconfig /flushdns" (again, without quotes).

If that doesn't work it means something in your chain is hijacking dns queries. I heard new TM-issued routers don't allow users to override their dns settings, but afaict those routers wouldn't even show you the primary/secondary dns input boxes in the first place. O_o?

I think it will be easier if you just set your DNS again at LAN or Wifi setting on your pc or smartphone.

Not sure about Chrome or Edge, but on Firefox you can also just enable the DNS over HTTPS option and select Cloudflare or NextDNS as the provider under Network Settings in the browser Preferences. Obviously that will only work for browsing on Firefox, but if he/she is having so much trouble it might be the simplest method.

Yes, it worked, thanks thumbsup.gif

I noticed that in my Firefox settings, the Enable DNS over HTTPS was not ticked. After ticking, and with DNS as Cloudflare one, now can work.

But Chrome still cannot. whistling.gif

Thanks you alls! rclxms.gif

Maybe some guys from TM or maybe Maxis messed around with this setting in the past, because I did call them over for help throughout the years when I had issues. I myself won't mess around with those settings.

Or maybe this setting is not enabled by default? Even in Chrome, they hide this and don't encourage the user to enable DOH.

But now I learned, this enables the ISP to insert themselves into my DNS queries. No wonder having all these odd things like cannot go to certain websites from time to time. It's rare, but it happens.

In this iHerb case, it looks like they blocked the Malaysia site. Otherwise I won't be having this issue to begin with. I know as of few months ago when I last ordered from them, the MY version was working alright.

Either IPv6 DNS was left unchanged so it's leaking there
Or
Their system remotely pushed settings which reset your dns settings.

Do as what ray8426 guide posted, also in the center picture which he posted UNCHECK Internet Protocol Version 6 to prevent any IPv6 leakage.

After that make sure you click OK to all after the changes. Right after that don't forget an important step:

Flush your DNS cache via CMD using the command ipconfig /flushdns. Do like 2-3 times to make sure everything is flushed correctly then retest again to see if your DNS are leaking.
