mine 1.51v idle at 39C, ambient temp 28C.

what's his vcore anyway, 3rd time i asked.

Update.. I just finished playing Call of Duty 4 at 3.6Ghz 1.3875Vcore.. It was fine...

Then I restarted my comp and tried running OCCT test.. for 1 hour..

After 5 mins into the test.. it says its crashed..

Well.. i looked at my Intel box and it says max Voltage is 1.35V..

Got any advise? Now my system is back to stock.. cause i'm just too lazy to fiddle around and all.. i want to sleep also..

well this happens coz games dont stress the core to 99.8% OCCT does. So if ur Vcore is a tad little, it will catch up on an error.

normal aircooling can achieve this?

those are the max voltage spec set by the manufacturer in order to confirm that the product will meet it's TDP spec using stock cooling system... eg. 1.35V max in order to guarantee that the Tj will not go over 90'C in 100% load at the stock speed of 2.66Ghz or whichever the speed the CPU is guaranteed...

if you're using better cooling system, should not be a problem to push the voltage higher...

cause not all chip behaves the same way...some can OC more, some not... but i'm not using water cooling, just normal air cooling...

yaa man... you can put it to 1.5v as long as have good HSF.....that is

1.5v for under 40c whats ur max core temp? happen to reach 80C?

70C with ambient temp 30C.

I hardly believe my eyes that you guys can get so low temperature at such high voltage, me at 3.2G, voltage 1.325, temperateure fluctuating at 59-66c when doing quad prime, how did you guys do to get so low temp.

what cooler are you using?
most of the overclockers here are using not-so-bad 3rd party cooler.
you need to have a good ventilation casing to do the job well too.

My PSU will probably kaput soon with such load but it has a 5-year warranty....

Noob here....

Yesterday I tried to OC my processor, then i drag it to 8% OC then when "GO" system hangs and blue screen then restart......

what is that suppose to mean?

my spec.

Intel Q6600 G0 ... 2.4 increase 8% = ~2.6.
Gigabyte P35-DS3
2GB 800MHz Kingston value Ram Kingston chip.
ASUS 8800GT TOP GC...
Silverstone ST-50F 500W PSU

i use the Gigabyte overclock software to clock it in basic mode.. so, i just drag the bar until the processor become 2.6GHz... then when i click "GO", the system will hang... and reset..

any idea why i cannot overclock? ya, i also using origianl HSF...

go set ur cpu fsb=400
multiplier 8

ram multiplier = 2.00

should be ok

Multiplier can set to 8??? i tot the multiplier is locked?

Does this temperature consider hot for me that running Q6600 @ 2.4GHz stock with Xigmatek HDT-S1283 & Tuniq-TX2 with closed Thermaltake Tsunami Dream casing in a place without air-con and just under a ceiling fan? This temperature was taken when I'm doing normal work like surfing, downloading, messengering and DOTA-ing (DOTA doesn't take very high load I suppose ).

u might need to re-check ur air ventilation system

its seems hot abit leh.. mine running on stock setup idle around 30c++ only

here's mine .. not really happy about it but will have to do for now

I guess your Q6600 VID is very high and not good OVERCLOCKER ! coz already 1.3 !!!!
but i think you can push your system to 3.4Ghz MAXIMUM
