QUOTE(azwandy @ Feb 25 2020, 09:55 AM) Yesterday go and purchased unifi air without contract, sim only.. i subscribed sim only before, but unfortunately tested it on wrong type of modem.. before this i use Huawei B715, which does not have band 40 for unifi air.. after testing it for a while and only connected at band 5, i terminate the package as it is very damn slow.. not even 8mbps.. yesterday, i called 3rd party person who is doing service to check unifi air coverage in penang.. he brought his tm b618-65d, and we tested with LPDA (Log Periodic Antenna) and the result was excellent.. i got around 70-80mbps via fast.com where's the tower location?before I purchased another huawei router b525s-65a to use with yes ku99.. yes ku99 in my area average around 20-30mbps during day, but at night starting from 7pm-12am the speed dropped tremendously.. i only get around 3-6mbps at night with yes.. so then i insert the unifi air sim to b525, connect the lpda.. the lpda is face towards the tm tower nearby and voila.. i managed to get speed around 50-70mbps during day, and around 30-40mbps at night.. definitely 100 time better than my unifi lite 8mbps.. time to say goodbye to yes [attachmentid=10434565] [attachmentid=10434566] [attachmentid=10434567] [attachmentid=10434568] [attachmentid=10434569] [attachmentid=10434570] [attachmentid=10434571] [attachmentid=10434572] [attachmentid=10434573] [attachmentid=10434574] [attachmentid=10434577] To those planning to subscribe to unifi air, make sure ur modem supported BAND 40 TDD 2300 MHz. I got 4G+ with this band. If people say just go and buy unifi mobile prepaid to test coverage in ur area, please take note that unifi mobile is running on different band altogether with unifi air. Unifi mobile is on band 5, 10Mhz, while band 40 is 20 Mhz. yes you can run unifi air on band 5, but the speed is damn slow. My house is not within the blue coverage area. But if you know the location of the transmitting tower, and u purchased LPDA with your modem, you can definitely improve your wireless broadband signal. Strong signal equals to consistent speed. how u point the antenna? |

QUOTE(azwandy @ Mar 5 2020, 03:19 PM) the most correct way for you to test out is by adjusting the antenna and look at the hmanager at the same time.. once u get the most green, then it is correct already.. for me, it is 10 storey telco tower, next to tm hq building.. another way is to look at unifi air map, and point to the coverage area.. either north, south, west.. be creative.. noted.tq. |
